QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) Thanks for stating the obvious. I'll just say Ben Gordon is the MVP of the Bulls to annoy u then.
-
Unless the Bulls actually get a legiminate center, I don't know if they can be a top 4 team in the East. I'd still rate Miami, Detroit, whoever wins the Atlantic and Indiana ahead of them.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) Oh yeah, Dick Jauron is going to be the next coach of the Buffalo Bills. And you thought their offense was bad enough this season. -
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) I wonder how this effects the Lakers' future. How many quality players will sign with Los Angeles knowing Bryant's selfish antics are backed by the entire organization? Their final record--and perhaps more importantly-- record in the playoffs, will play a large role in their future. What exactly is appealing about a low seeded team in a tough conference with no immediate hopes of obtaining a title? Overpaying will be the only route. Or the allure of playing in Los Angeles with Phil Jackson. I'm positive few basketball players throughout the league aren't telling themselves, "wow, I'd love to be that guys teammate." Right now, they really want Chris Bosh when he becomes a UFA. Bosh saw first hand tonight Kobe's game. I wonder what impact it will have as you said. And I don't think Jackson is going to be there for anymore then 3 more years anyways, so that'll definitely have an impact.

So Lamar Odom gonna get shipped out soon after this or what?

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) Hawks losing 3-1 right now to Minny, at home, and Arnason was scratched tonight. Its starting to get really, really bad right now. You gotta think Arny will be the next one out after this.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) Hahaha there's the old Plummer we all know and love... choker Should be interesting to see if he regresses without Kubiak next season. -
QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) I think the Phils would like to get rid of Abreu. But the sox don't need him [taking into consideration his salary, replacing Dye, etc]. Though as the Phils are looking for an ace, Contreras would be the most cost effective guy and most likely guy available for them. If the Phils would be willing to trade a guy like Ryan Madson [who could start in the future as he came up in the minors as a SP but eat up innings in the bullpen now ala Scott Shields from the angels] and a prospect for Contreras, maybe that would be a deal worth doing. I think Madson would almost be the most untouchable player on Philly's team right now. He's so valuable to them in terms of being that Shields guy, or being able to start, and they don't have a lot of other different options in the bullpen.

Have a good one Balta!!!!! (Pinned for your birthdayness)

And the last two days it's been 105 and 112. And it's not a dry heat like I had in Phoenix either. It's so windy down here, you feel like you're in an oven when you go outside.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) In half the ab's. If Marte does live up to his potential then this deal is obviously going to be huge for Cleveland down the road but for this year I'm glad as f*** for Crisp to be out of there. A bit of short - term pain for long - term gain. I'd be estacic as an Tribe fan right now, especially if its Arthur Rhodes they're giving up and not Rafeal Betancourt.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) So I walk into subway tonight and there is a sign that says "Out of Bread." Speaking of Subway, getting hooked on the Roasted Chicken there lately. Of course, with the lack of sandwich alternatives down here (unless you want to make your own e.g I'm lazy like that Jarod dude as PA said), there's not many other options.

Michaels is basically going to be replacing Crisp in CF for 2006. Here's how they size up; Crisp - .300/.345/.465 Michaels - .305/.399/.415 So in essence it shows that Michaels should be able to get on base more then Crisp but he'll hit for less power. But I'd expect Michaels' offensive numbers to go down from moving from Citizens Bell Park where he had splits of .328/.428/.420.
-
Wow and they're getting Jason Michaels as well; I'd just have Marte play in LF for a year, but I guess they want him in AAA to start 2006.
-
Wow have the Indians done good on this. It sucks that we're gonna have to face Marte for the next 5-10 years.
-
It'll be interesting to see how Benson does under Leo Mazzone, and if he'll improve a lot. Guess this means Chris Ray is the closer now for the O's too, and Aaron Heilman will be starting for the Mets.

Kyle Orton, drunk pictures......again.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 22, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Kyle Orton's QB Rating - 59.7 The Great Rex Grossman's QB Rating (including the playoff game) - 56.8 But i thought Grossman was such a huge upgrade over Orton. OMFG I cannot honestly believe you are still arguing this. LET IT GO!!!!!! -
Guys I'm shutting this down for a while.

Now Mota invovled in a 6 player deal?

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) I tend to think its based on post count Why would you want to vote for someone just because he has "X" more posts then this guy? Balta's winning because he's a good informative poster.

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) no one however realizes they have no receivers for him to go to, alot of pressure was put on him. Just like David Carr in Houston right? I'll take Andre Johnson over Brandon Lloyd too. A scrambling QB is also probe to having more mistakes on offense, if their decision making isn't great. Have a look at Jake Plummer. He wasn't good in Arizona for at least half a decade. Wouldn't Young staying in Texas put more pressure on him, where they would expect him to produce like he did with Texas? But hasn't their main problem been that they can't protect the QB. It's no good having a good QB if he has to take 3 step drops to unload the football before he gets whacked. Carr deserves a chance to show what he can do under Kubiak with a better offensive line in front of him IMHO. Well if you trade down for a lineman, you're obviously not going to trade Davis or Carr are you. That'd just be pretty damn stupid. The problem with that scenario is that the Texans have hardly shown that they can sign good OL'men. They've invested quite a lot of money into the likes of Todd Wade, Zach Wiegert to name a few, and it hasn't paid off.

QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) This raises another question, since they have troubles in the redzone even with the fact that davis has had a good yards per carry average why would they want to draft Reggie Bush. They really should go after Vince Young, the Texans are very similar to the Atlanta Falcons before the Michael Vick era, somewhat of the same situation, Young is like a rb and passing qb, if Davis is doing well whats the point of adding Bush, they still need to protect Carr. I mean come one, we dont know how much better Reggie is going to do than Davis. You saw Texas play, Young just changed teams whole defensive strategy, USC couldnt figure him out. He reminds me of Daunte Culpepper with his size and speed. I just dont get why they would draft Bush, it would just be an add on to what they already have. Seems like all the teams with the top draft pick believe that they have to draft the best available player. Have a look at Falcons offense now. They're not exactly lighting the world on fire over there with Mike Vick behind center (hence why the blame game has started). Young could take a few years to develop, it's a big risk to take him at #1. It really depends on whether they can unload Davis. Really they should trade down and pick the OT Ferguson, but that's not the "sexy" pick that is going to sell tickets for Bob McNair. So they're kind of in a rock in a hard place right now. Great position to be in, but do they stick with Carr instead of Davis thinking if they upgrade the O-Line, the offense will be much improved, instead of going with Young and Davis and cutting Carr loose?
