QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 07:35 PM) Get real Toronto. Take Deng & a draft pick and be happy that Bosh wants a S&T. If they can't deal Hedo though, they have no need for Deng and his contract. They desperately need a C on that team so they can move Bargnani to PF, hence the interest in Noah.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) Destiny isn't going to do Spain much good in dealing with Germany. They'll have to play their best game of the tournament by a wide margin to win that game. Spain is much better defensively than England and Argentina though. And with Mueller out (who's arguably been Germany's best player along with Ozil), it's be a much more even game I'd say. That said, if you can shut David Villa down, Spain have had trouble scoring. They looked better with Fabregas on also.

If Lebron re-signs with the Cavs for 3 seasons and they don't win a title, he'll definitely bolt to the Nets and join Jay Z in Brooklyn from 2013 (so long as they have the capspace). If the Bulls want Lebron, they have to get him, now or never.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) I actually went to a backstreet boys concert at ravinia a few weeks ago. As terrible as the music was, I actually had a fantastic time. If you can bring your own alcohol, food and are outside on a nice night you can usually manage to have a good time. Oh dear...

QUOTE (Felix @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) I don't quite get why we'd swap Jefferson for Lee. He's not going to be able to play with Kevin Love, and I really don't think he's an upgrade on Jefferson as is. Last year was the first year back from a major injury for Al, and he was still a very effective player. I don't see why he wouldn't get back to his previous levels, which were superior to Lee. Add in that he's two years younger, and I really don't get it. Well I don't know if Jefferson can get back to averaging 23 PPG with Minny, simply because he was taking 14 shots per game this season compared to around 19 in the past. I think they want a more quicker / agile PF to pair with Darko / Petkovic, and that they see Love as more of a 6th man going forward. O.J Mayo would look good for the T-Wolves though.

Hmmm; I suppose Ellis fits D'Antoni mould of a SG, but I like that deal for Minny.

No more Larissa. Spain were very lucky, and it almost seems like destiny that they're going to win in the end IMO. That said, Germany are in great form and they'll try to get Spain on the counter as much as possible, but Mueller will be a real big loss for them.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 02:39 AM) Yeah I don't even remember anything like that. Not liking what he said, resigning ourselves to thinking he doesn't want to come here because of it, and us not wanting to come here are all different things. I thought I remember people on here saying he was being disrespectful to some former Bulls and the ownership etc. and they'd much rather LBJ and Bosh to sign instead of Wade.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 06:41 AM) It means he's done with his meetings for now and hes going to get some rest haha and yes David Lee's lady friend is super hot. Is he still going out with Sabina Gadecki?

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 01:36 AM) Maybe Wade is trying to do some image restoration after his critical Bulls comments and make the city of Chicago think he really considered returning home? Quite funny how after he did that, no Bulls fan on here wanted to sign his ass. Now it's different obviously. FWIW, I still see Bosh and Wade going to Miami, although the former is a 50-50 bet. For Lebron it's either the Bulls or Cavs with the Nets as a wildcard.

And we have 1 massive thread. I'm a little surprised that Amare would want to play for D'Antoni again, but at least the Knicks are coming away with at least 1 major FA from their POV. Probably also means David Lee might be headed out the door, although it depends if Stoudemire's willing to be a 5 guy.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 05:02 PM) I disagree. I think it's shocking the Dutch came from behind to win in regular time, but I don't think this Brazil team was that good. Offensively, their roster was unimpressive by Brazilian standards. They were just one of the powers to me and not the top team. Obviously a lot of that is due to the system Dunga played, 4-2-2-2 with 2 holding midfielders, so it's pretty defensive. And they were meant to be much better defensively and at set pieces and it was their downfall today. Certainly didn't like the way their players were carrying on in the 2nd half also. As for Melo, he plays for Juventus in Serie A, so I don't know if his family already live in Turin instead of Brazil.

The Warrick still probably is overpaying a little IMO, but you can't complain too much really. Brandon Bass got a 4/16 deal from us last off-season. I assume he'll start at PF with Frye coming off the bench again though.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) @PDcavsinsider- Here's what I hear from yesterday: LeBron interested in Nets pitch but not so much NY. NY trying at moment to secure Amare' to help cause The Knicks will probably end up with Amare and Tyrus Thomas at this rate. Although it wouldn't suprise if they ended up making a big offer to a player such as Raymond Felton as well.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 02:12 AM) Amir Johnson gets a 5 year $34 million deal from Toronto. Are they INSANE? That deal is almost as bad as the Jerome James deal Isaiah Thomas gave him IMO. Almost seems as if it's a given Colangelo is gonna bolt for New Jersey and he doesn't care anymore.

Gooden signed a 5/32 deal with the Bucks. Think they're overpaying on that one. If they can sign Salmons, they'll have quite a deep team going into next season though if Bogut can get back to 100%.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 05:17 PM) Hedo wants out, Deng could be the perfect FU to Turkeyglue and buy him out. Can't see the Raps buying him out when he's still got 4 years left on his deal. They'll do everything they can to trade him if they stick with Triano as coach. Hedo's only done well when he's played under coaches who will light a fire under his ass every once in a while e.g SVG, Popovich and Adelman.

The Raps want Gibson and Noah if they're doing a sign and trade with the Bulls, and obviously the Bulls don't want to give up the latter. But Miami's willing to do Chalmers + Beasley, and that probably beats say Gibson + something else unless they want Deng which is doubtful while they still have Hedo. Can Miami still use the MLE if they signed the big 3, and they'd be able to offer the veteran's minimum also I presume. They also drafted 4 guys in the 2nd round that they'll use off the bench next season.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) Nuggets could trade Melo http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Ca...?urn=nba,252494 Poor Knicks, they wouldn't have the ammo over say, the Nets, to trade for Melo. Wonder if the Nuggets would have any interest in something around Gortat, VC + something. All I know is that the Magic are definitely going to be involved in a big trade soon and those are the 2 likely pieces that will be going.

Andy Schleck's probably Contador's main danger I'd say. Evans is a smoky purely due to the fact he'll actually have a decent team supporting him at BMC now. What state he'll be in after the Giro de Italia though, we'll see.

Here's a good article about Altidore not training hard enough according to his manager at Hull FWIW; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...-potential.html

Official 2010 World Cup Thread
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) I don't think Altidore has anywhere near the talent/skill/ability level that's required in order to develop into a player like Fabiano. He also comes across as a player with a low footballing IQ. I'd never bet on those players reaching their full potential. Yeah possibly, but IIRC Fabiano wasn't a guy who really came on until later on in his career when he joined Sevilla, and with the bigger sort of strikers, they usually don't really come into their own from 25 onwards. The footballing IQ is only something that's going to get better the more matches he plays, and for better teams in better leagues etc. Not exactly easy to look good for Hull when they're absolute s***. Obviously after what he produced at Hull this season, you'd say, this guy needs to really improve a lot if he's really going to make it. He could end up being more of a target man than an absolute striker when it's all said and done.
