  1. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) you must have missed the word MANY, Joe Dumars, David Kahn, could go on for a while How are Dumars and Kahn idiots? Granted Dumars hasn't had a couple of good seasons, but he built Detroit into a NBA Championship team. In a couple of seasons, Kahn's loaded up the Wolves with quite a few good young assets to say the least. What else could he have done to make Minny any better?
  2. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) There are many idiots in the NBA, I am 100% positive. Deng is someone who can contribute although his contract is bad, where as someone like Stephon Marbury is definitely not movable (unless to someone really dumb) because his talent completely fell off Sorry but Isaiah Thomas isn't the GM of the Knicks anymore.
  3. Montero was the #4 rated prospect in the off-season by BA IIRC. They hoped Clement was going to be the guy for them at catcher for a while, but obviously that didn't work out as planned.
  4. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 03:43 PM) I'm all about the doom and gloom here, but come on. No chance? How do you figure? The Bulls have a budding superstar (Rose), one of the best interior guys in the league that doesn't care about stats or fame (Noah), an all-star in Boozer, and a potential all-star in Gibson (if he continues to develop). Add a deadly shooter and I think this team is going to be really tough to beat. So we missed out on a couple of big time FA's who clearly planned this whole thing 2 years ago. Can't fault the Bulls for that. Yeah, they were handed a gift by the NBA gods (or Stern) when they got Rose, but who cares? The future is very, very bright IMO. I think they're contenders for the conf finals now and contenders for the championship in 2-3 years. I don't see Gibson developing into an all star in the future. He'll be a good role player / fringe starter for a long time in this league, but he just doesn't have star type of potential.
  5. Miller's an interesting signing, thought they may have gone after a big, but I'll assume they'll try to re-sign Joel Anthony perhaps. I'm hoping Otis can work some magic and pull off a massive deal at the deadline for something around VC's expiring max contract, Gortat + something for either Melo or CP3. I'd take back Okafor's deal even possibly if it got us CP3.
  6. Well at least I won't have to hear much of Mo Williams and that Godfather Music going forward... That's a positive I guess.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:36 AM) Miami Boston Orlando Chicago is how I see them stacking up Boston without Perkins and the big 3 another year older is going to struggle a little more IMO. I'm hoping we can trade VC at the deadline for an upgrade.
  8. Well Ric Bucher's twitter was actually pretty close in the end... That's pretty hilarious in itself really. "You're going to listen to Ric Bucher!!!??"
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:32 AM) Miami is going to b**** slap the s*** out of Orlando. Unless we somehow find a way to trade for CP3, they should have our number going forward. Still I think we'll be 2nd best in the East next season at least.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:30 AM) Yup. Completely wrong. Shocked. I never thought LBJ was such a p*ssy. Honestly that's why I said you couldn't rule any of the 4 teams out. You narrow yourself down to 2 teams like that, you leave yourself open to that. Well at least Miami vs. Orlando got a little more interesting for the next 10 years I guess.
  11. But I thought it was definitely Chicago or Cleveland? Oops.....
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:06 AM) No one predicted Lebron to Manchester United. But s*** those brits got deep pockets. Actually the Glazer's have quite a bit of debt.
  13. Quite amazing to think that the biggest story in the NBA over the past 3 years is literally going to come down to what happens in the next hour.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:37 AM) 23 minutes away! 1:40 here, and I'm staying up late on a weeknight to hear where Lebron's going. Sad really...
  15. This team is just rolling right now, and it's all on the back of the starting pitching. Let's keep it going at least til the ASB.....
  16. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:53 AM) I would guess their averages are going to be lower than we think because they'd probably rest a lot during blowouts. The most recent example is the Celtics, where their big three combined for 105 minutes and 56 points. The Celtics had a few competent backups, so if I had to guess, I would put it at 108 minutes combined and 65-70 points. And the key thing in your post there is blowouts. I don't see how this team can't win 65 games minimum with Lebron on their team, considering that's what he's done in Cleveland with a weak supporting cast.
  17. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:49 AM) ESPN said they only avg 40 pts between the 3 of them in the olympics....yes i know it's the olympics but still Well consider the other guys on that team such as Kobe etc. Those 3, should average around 25PPG as a minimum (except for maybe Bosh) if they all ended up with Miami.
  18. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:48 AM) really the biggest scum bag in my mind at the end of this is gonna be Riley...hes gonna boot Spoelstra out of his job likely Yep, it'll be Stan Van Gundy all over again.
  19. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) Honestly though, can you be the best team in the NBA with only 3 players? Yes. It's that much of a superstar's league.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) A lot of that money will come from winning 5 championships, I would imagine... Anybody saying that Miami wouldn't win championships with all of the big 3 is crazy. They may not get anything more than league minimum guys, but I imagine some role player will flock there in an attempt to win a title easily. A lot of veterans such as Dooling and Bell could take the minimum this season, and then Miami would have the MLE to use to re-sign them to bigger contracts in the following seasons. And they've got 4 2nd round picks who palehosefan told us about who they can develop going forward cheaply as well.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) IraHeatBeat Now Chris Broussard saying on SportsCenter: "It is not a done deal. I'm not ready to say it's a done deal."? Because it's bulls*** you twit. LeBron's camp has played everyone throughout all of this. It's Cleveland or Chicago. It is? I wouldn't rule out any of the 4 teams (NY, CLE, CHI and MIA) out of it at this point. I don't know how you can say Chicago is definitely more of a favorite at this point over Miami and New York also (due to all of the factors that have to be considered).
  22. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:20 PM) Marcin Gortat said on Polish TV today that there is a big chance he will be changing teams. TTFWIW It's been mooted since the start of the off-season after we drafted Orton (albeit Orton is very, very raw). I think he'll end up at Dallas or Denver myself. We'd probably want a SF in return considering Matt Barnes probably won't be back. Linus Kleiza just signed a 4/20 offer sheet with Toronto as well.
  23. Some SF newspaper is reporting Lee to GS for Randolph, Radmanovic + something else if the Knicks don't end up with Lebron.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:56 PM) Not even close to the same player or situation. Not a good comparison my friend. I was thinking more of the lines of Elton Brand in Philly potentially, although Brand's never been the same since the knee surgery he had.
