QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 6, 2010 -> 10:21 PM) Bah, I don't know if either of those are 100% necessary. really, the only solution for the Bulls in the backcourt is for Rose to learn better defensive positioning. He doesn't have to win DPOY here, but so many of those open 3's and open passes come because he turns his back and his man floats away, or because he gets blown up on the pick and roll...if he can just turn a chunk of those "Oh crap how did he get open!" 3's into contested shots, or deny the shooter the ball, then that covers it. Eventually though, the Bulls are going to have to upgrade at the 2, because teams may start double teaming Rose as they did with Wade pre Big 3, and they'll need whoever the SG is to knock down open perimeter looks and provide real solid defense, and I don't think Bogans is that man for sure, Brewer maybe over time. And if there's a weak link on your team, come playoff time, other teams will exploit it (look at Matt Barnes in the series againsr Boston last playoffs for example). But people need to stop having a go at Thibodeau as well. He's only been coaching for 5 games and people are already having a go at his team defense etc. without one of their top 2 players not playing. At least give him half a season to really put his imprint on this team.

Anyone who's into their House / Electro Music here, Wolfgang Gartner did a pretty cool 2 hour mix for te BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix tonight. Definitely recommend a listen. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006wkfp

I'm currently working for one of the biggest banks in the UK here, but my contract finishes in December, and I'm going to be moving back home to Melbourne in early Feb, after doing some travelling across Europe in Jan. My plan is to try and find work in Melbourne, and after 3 months if I can't, I am going to move in with a friend in Los Angeles and try and find some work there. Visa wise it's complicated, but I can get a 2 year visa for a job that requires a Bachelor's Degree in something to do it.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 6, 2010 -> 05:36 PM) if you go by "PER", Rose is quite a bit ahead of gordon and is right behind one "Lebron James" so far this season. He absolutely needs to work on his defense. There's no question. But let's not go overboard here. If nothing else, that appears to be the real issue to watch when we're evaluating Thibs. The frontcourt looks better all around, noah's 2nd in the league in rebounds, Gibson's in the top 5 in FG %age, Rose is in the top 5 in scoring and assists, but the backcourt defense is the weakness right now. Yep that's the issue right now. 2 options I see, wait for Brewer to get healthy and have him start for Bogans. He's not a great 3 PT shooter, but he attacks the rim well and plays pretty good defense for a SG. Or the Bulls can try and trade for an upgrade (hence why I suggested Pietrus yesterday, but he might be more of a 3 nowadays).
-
On another note, I know that the Bulls obviously went after J.J Redick in the off-season, does anyone have an interest in Mickael Pietrus to play SG for the Bulls? Pietrus told SVG to f**k off apparently against the T-Wolves, and he's a pretty good defensive stopper. The Magic would probably take a future 1st and an expiring contract for him.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) I'm constantly amazed how many people don't realize KG is a gigantic piece of s***. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nba/news/story?id=5759196 2nd player in the NBA I most despise after Lebron. Ask Patrick O'Sullivan what he thinks of KG as well.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Rose is stronger, a more dynamic finisher at the rim, and actually has a consistent jumper. If Wall works on these next offseason, he might be able to bridge this gap. Well Rose is obviously more of a scoring point guard. Wall could end up being better than Chris Paul. Hell it's close already. And you've got to look at the supporting cast he has in Washington also. I see Wall's career path being very close to Kevin Durant's in terms of superstardom.

QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Nov 1, 2010 -> 09:45 PM) now they are saying Childress never addressed this with upper management before telling his players that he was released LOL Yep Childress is on real shaky ground right now. Either Dungy or Leslie Frazier to coach that team next season for sure.
-
Ha that's just hilarious. Be interesting to see if anyone takes the chance with him.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2010 -> 06:40 PM) You're not getting pick #1 so stop asking. Wouldn't want pick 1 considering the bonus demands etc. with the threat of a lockout looming anyways. But a top 5 pick would be nice.

Marion Barber's been my favorite player for the past 5 years, but it's just sad to watch him now. He's got pretty much nothing left in the tank, as shown by those last 2 runs on the goal line. Frankly I hope this team doesn't win another game for the season, because then we'll get an early draft pick and changes will be made on the coaching front.

Barney from HIMYM. Suit Up time.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 26, 2010 -> 04:04 AM) Hahaha, so many melodramatic Cowboys fans. It's hilarious. ARRGH, THEE CURSE OF THEE WADE PHILLIPS Yep Wade is indeed a goner. There's only so long you can rely on talent and not holding your players accountable when it comes to performance and penalties. We need help desperately in the secondary and on the offensive line. Gruden's the favourite right now to take over. John Fox has been mooted though because he gets along well with Jerry Jones. I don't think Cowher will want any part of dealing with Jerry (my guess is he coaches Carolina next season).
-
It's all Isaiah's fault. So who are people rooting for tonight, Heat or Celtics? I'm going for injuries myself.
-
Oakland ran for 169YDS in the 1st half. Maybe McDaniels should have drafted a defensive lineman instead of Tebow.
-
The Hornets got Jerryd Bayless for a conditional 1st rounder. Very underrated move for them. Monty Williams obviously know Bayless from his time in Portland and he's a direct replacement for Collison. For the price, the Hornets definitely win that trade, although it's a cost cutting move for Portland it appears. Also gives NO more options if CP3 gets traded I guess.
-
Hope you had a good one Ace (old habits die hard I guess).

The Bucks and Grizzlies would be my 2 prime candidates for contraction, with Minnesota probably coming in 3rd. The Bucks have survived largely thanks to Herb Kohl's generous pockets. Once he goes, they're in trouble because they never sell the Bradley Center out. Memphis just isn't a NBA town, they're not like Oklahoma City which is a similar sort of town but those fans are dedicated, Memphis's are not. If Seattle ever sorted their arena issues out, I think it'd be wise to have a team move there eventually again, they had terrific fan support in the 90's when they had the likes of Kemp, Payton and Detlef Schrempf. As for Miami's injury issues so far, well boo hoo for them. Now we'll see how that depth out theirs is going to try and step up. Won't be a surprise to see Orlando beating Miami in the Southeast as they go into 2011 (especially with how good the Magic have looked in the pre-season with Bass and Anderson stepping up to give SVG a bonafide 10 man rotation now).
-
Certainly was a bit of a mis-match last night. Think you only scored 23 in the 1st half all together. With the way Bass is playing, is gives us the option of starting him at PF, or Q Rich at SF depending on matchups.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 16, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) John Scott is terrible. He should only be out there if you need someone punched in the face. So he may be needed tonight. Can't believe they actually gave him a 2 year deal as well. Suppose Bowden loves his bigger players though.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 16, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) I actually thought Williams was better last year. There were spurts when he was also better than Jameer in terms of getting the offense to work. I put that down to Nelson having an injury interrupted season again (think it was about mid season when he lost a lot of confidence etc.) I think Duhon at least offers a lot more on the defensive end then White Chocolate does in any regard.
-
Chicago take on Orlando tonight, we've won 18 pre-season games in a row under SVG now. Q-Rich and Duhon have fit in pretty well for us so far. Richardson is a better fit in our system than Barnes was IMO (better 3PT shooter and he's actually in good shape again), while Duhon's an upgrade as the backup PG from Williams last season.

I'd look at waiving someone like Scott and putting in a claim on this guy if he snuck through; http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...NHL&id=2478

Just did my green card lottery entry once again. Here's hoping I actually have some luck on that front this time.
