  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) I agree. I love em both, but I think this is debatable as to who is better. Depends if Griffin develops any sort of a post game. If he does, I'd probably take him. Love still needs to improve defensively to get into that "superstar" category, IMO.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) He's a RFA after this season. I want the Melo deal to go through, because it seems with either Nets or Knicks they get another SG, meaning they'd need to dump one. That's where the Bulls come a knockin'. It seems everyone is waiting for the Melo deal to go down, and then the trade action for the other teams will heat up from there. Really the only deal that I can recall that had gone down was Orlando's 2 trades. Don't know if the Knicks would get a SG in a Melo deal, they'd try to swing Mayo to Denver, and maybe hang onto Fields and trade Gallinari and Chandler instead.
  3. Pays to be a Scott Bora$$ client doesn't it. Can't blame the Yankees for the move, we all know they have endless amounts of money to spend, and Soriano will argubly be the best set-up guy in the league for the next few years if he produces what he did in Tampa. Shows how good we did to get a guy like Putz signed to the contract we did though last season.
  4. No one thought I would get my head coach fired after 12 games.......
  5. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 06:35 AM) For a while, the Heat looked like they could reel off 50 straight wins to tie or shatter the Bulls 72-10 record, now we can officially rule them out.... this season. By the way. Arron Afflalo looked really nice tonight and did a great job defending Wade. Both him and JR Smith had great games tonight, but I think Afflalo will be a better fit for the Bulls because he can do more with less. Just check his stats and he is something like 50-40-85 in terms of shooting %. and he NEVER turns the ball over. He would be a terrific fit with Rose and Boozer. If I were GarPax, Afflalo and Mayo are on top of my trade list for shooting guards. Can't remember what Affalo's contract situation is like, but I think he's cheap and Denver want to build around young cheap talented players when they deal Carmelo (Kroenke wants the hard salary cap brought in also FWIW). More likely to deal J.R Smith, who blew up tonight offensively BTW I would have thought.
  6. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 05:00 AM) Kevin. Love. Howard had 39 and 18 last night.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 04:02 PM) Is it the Wolves pick? If that is the case, that is a stupid play for Minny. No I'd think it would be one of the other 1st rounders that they have, although Felix would probably know about it I'd guess. If that happens though, Minnesota would have Love, Darko, Randolph, Tolliver and Petrovic who can all play the PF/C position. They also have 3 PG's on the roster ATM with Ridnour, Johnny Flynn and Telfair with Ricky Rubio due to come across next season. All they need is an above average 2. Wes Johnson could be that guy, but he's not right now.
  8. Few articles and rumors going around today speculating that Anthony Randolph is getting dealt from the Knicks to the Wolves for a 2011 1st rounder, which they could then use on a Carmelo deal. Also they want DeAndre Jordan from the Clippers as their C for next season to play alongside Amare, Jordan hits FA this off-season. A lineup of Felton, Fields, Melo, Stoudemire and Jordan is potentially a contender in the East from next season onwards I would have thought.
  9. The question is with Crawford do you attempt to re-sign him now, or do you risk another Niemi situation happening? I think if you can get him locked up on a multiyear deal for anything under than $2M a season, you pull the trigger.
  10. Miami, Chicago and Orlando all lost last night, so was a good night for Boston and Atlanta who both won. The Clippers actually look pretty decent right now, VDN is doing a decent job over there. They've got 2 very nice core pieces in Gordon and Griffin that they can build around for a long time. Even Baron Davis has shown signs of life over there somehow. As for LeBron, nothing surprises me in regards to his "douchiness" in terms of anything he does, and then not being a man and owning up to it. Most classless person in sports going around in the world today.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) An 8 foot birthday cake with a crown on it? God I hate that man. I take back my semi-apology post. Sounds like Turtle has gone from organizing Vinnie Chase's B-Day to Wade's and Lebron's B-Day's now.
  12. Lindsay's the same age as me and obviously we're both Australian. I'll be rooting for him.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 9, 2011 -> 12:36 PM) Just saw highlights. Still want JJ Redick. Still hate Otis. Right now the J-Rich + Hedo + Earl Clark for VC, Gortat and Pietrus deal looks like a big win Orlando at this point (PHX is 2-6 after the trade IIRC). My guess is with Redick, he becomes the starting SG next season onwards when J-Rich gets a big contract offer from some other team.
  14. Orlando's on a 9 game winning streak now after beating Dallas last night. Hedo Turklogu had 17 assists. He's just fits perfectly into our offensive system as a facilitator for the offense when you've got scoring PG's in Nelson and Arenas. Dwight Howard would have to be top 3 for the MVP award right now also. Got a lot of publicity early along with CP3, then that died down a bit after the losing streak.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) Thibs sending message talk. Here's version 2.0. That was always one of the queries regarding Boozer and whether he was worth a max contract or not (that and his injury history and his poor playoff performances against the Lakers). Don't think there's any doubt he's better defensively with Noah alongside him.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) So, looking over the Centers in the league I'd have to say Noah is #2. If he weren't injured he'd be the East's default backup center. The center position is just so bad. Top: Dwight Howard Tier 2: Joakim Noah, Al Horford Tier 3: Nene, Al Jefferson, Marc Gasol, Tyson Chandler, Andrew Bogut Tier 4: Everyone else. I'd put Bogut up as a tier 2 center, defensively one on one he was the best center in the league last season. And he's playing with that wrist injury which he's still recuperating from. Think he'll only get better as the season goes on. Not a stretch to think DeMarcus Cousins will be tier 2 by the middle of next season if he actually mature a bit as well.
  17. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) I think Harbaugh's best option is to go to Carolina and pick Luck 1st. He'd be very familiar with his QB obviously, they'd have a very talented backfield, and they could trade Claussen for picks to draft some WR/OL. Sounds as if the owner Jerry Richardson wants a cheap assistant to take over for Fox e.g Perry Fewell. Don't think he'll pony up the cash needed to hire Harbaugh somehow. Should be interesting to see how it all plays out really.
  18. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) They are just posturing for a king's ransom from Denver. I bet they get it. Depends if they get Harbaugh as their next coach I suppose. Although it'd be interesting to see what would happen with Teboe also. They apparently want a 2nd rounder for Kyle Orton also (cue Bears fans in hysterics)....
  19. LeBron would be right up there. Gordon Ramsey would be a funny one to fight, just to hear him cussin at you while you took a few swings. Don't care much for that Hannity dude from Fox News either.....
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 05:47 PM) Is there anyone who stands out like Suh this year? If not, then I wouldn't spend the #3 pick on that spot. Mocking the Draft has Patrick Peterson going at #2 to Denver to replace Champ Bailey as the shutdown CB. Da'Quan Bowers is at #4, said to be the best pass rusher in the draft (wonder if the Bills will pass at #3 though considering the problems Maybin has had). As for the Cowboys at #9, we need to take the best defensive player on the board, either a defensive lineman or one of the CB's (which the draft seems to have a few good ones early on). http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2011/1/3/19102...aft-andrew-luck
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) Well it would have helped if our starting QB didn't get his bell rung in the 2nd quarter. On another note, I think the Lions are getting good. All the Lions need is for their offensive players to stay healthy, add another impact player on defense (ideally in the secondary) and that's probably a .500 team next season if they stay healthy.
  22. Thibo #6 on the best coaches list from the SBNation piece; http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2010/12/29/190...s-rick-carlisle
  23. Magic have got a nice little winning streak going now at 4. Thursday's game against the Knicks on TNT should be a good one to watch, expect to see nothing but Pick 'N Roll offense for a good 2 hours though. We've been linked to Marcus Camby today also. We'd probably have to give up a 2 for him such as Redick, and the way J.J has played since the trade, I'm not sure I'd want to do that. I'd almost take my chances to see if a big such as Troy Murphy is cut after the deadline to make a move that way.

    Happy New Year

Going on a party boat along the Thames River, hopefully will have a very good view of the Fireworks that will be going off around Waterloo. Comes with free food and drink and then we get club entry somewhere afterwards.
  25. Boozer's main problem was that come playoff time, he was always owned by the Lakers bigger frontcourt. So that could be an issue if the Bulls play say Boston and he's up against KG who's probably DPOY right now.
