Rip almost got traded to Cleveland along with a 1st rounder, but wasn't willing to get rid of $9M guaranteed on his contract apparently. So unless the Pistons are willing to pay off the majority of his deal, my guess is they'll hang onto him, and try to trade him next off-season.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 25, 2011 -> 02:44 PM) The Bulls shot pretty badly, especially from 3. If I were a Heat fan Id be pretty worried about the +14 rebound advantage the Bulls had. There is pretty good reason to believe that the Bulls and Heat will both shoot better next game, but not much to believe that the Heat will get a lot better on the boards. 1 rebound from Joel Anthony in 17 mins ain't going to get it done. Credit to Asik on that regard tonight. No Mike Miller for Miami also tonight, although he hasn't really made that much of an impact either.

Bosh is 1 for 18. Probably his worst shooting night in his entire career I'd say.

Interesting day to say the least. My thoughts on all of the deals, firstly the Perkins trade, think OKC did very well there. They've needed a good defensive big for a long time, and that move will help them in the playoffs match up against teams like the Lakers. As for the C's, Zoom said it perfectly about Jeff Green. He's a classic tweener who's overrated, shoots 4 3's a game at 30% from the field, doesn't play good defense at the 4 spot and doesn't rebound the ball well. Dwight Howard has played much better against Perkins recently, but I'm hoping we get the Celtics in the semi finals now. I'm assuming they must think Dalembert is going to get bought out, or Troy Murphy, but we've had our eyes on Murphy for a long time. I would have dealt Asik for Mayo, because there are probably going to be a few bigs that are going to be bought out that you can sign for the vets minimum to replace Asik's role. That said, sounds as if he was pretty much dealt to Indiana, and the trade didn't go through in time, because they wanted a 3rd team involved in New Orleans to get involved in the financing. Portalnd made a good pickup in Wallace, although it'll kill the value of Nicholas Batum. Don't know if that makes Portland a real contender in the West, they're still scrapping for a playoff spot, but they are certainly better then what they were yesterday. The most underrated move IMO, was Memphis pickin up Battier. He's argubly the best "glue defensive swingman" in the league. He'll really improve their perimeter defense and when Rudy Gay gets back, that's a pretty good team they have there now. They won't stay together, Randolph will probably leave in FA as they can't afford to pay both Gasol and Zach, so it looks like they're going for it this season. A bit annoyed Orlando didn't make a move, especially after our terrible performance last night. I'm hoping right now, the guys are just going thru the motions a bit, like the Celtics did last season before the playoffs, but right now no-one besides Dwight is playing well.

Baron Davis and a 1st for Mo Williams and Jamario Moon. Look as if the Cavs are loading up on 1st rounders. The Clippers get out of Baron's contract (2/30M after this season), so they should have plenty of cap room from this off-season onwards.

Yep that ended up being a good deal didn't it;

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) Lee is definitely the guy I want. He has gotten some decent minutes recently and put up some big scoring numbers with great field goal percentages. I am by no means enamored by him, but I would much rather him than Anthony Parker. Mayo is especially intriguing, but I am not sure I want the character risk. Not sure what Lee's contract is but I actually hope Orlando goes after him when he hits FA so we can go with a Lee / Redick SG combo again. I know Dwight Howard is a big fan of his, he's just a solid player with 3 PT range who'll give you good defense, exactly what Chicago needs.
-
Forget about Thornton as well, apparently he's off to SAC along with cash for Carl Landry. Landry gives the Hornets insurance in case David West opts out of his final year of his contract and goes into FA I suppose.

QUOTE (T R U @ Feb 21, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) What gives you that impression, from what I just read it said that Christian just ran down there to chase off Del Rio.. I didn't see anything about him and Edge My guess is, Christian will vow revenge on Del Rio and force his way into the title picture, and then at WM, he accidently costs Edge the WHC, allowing Edge to turn heel, and for those 2 to feud for a few months.
-
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) Well he won't play here then too if he can't cut it defensively. Yep pretty much. I read that Courtney Lee is a favorite of Thibodeau's. I still think he's by far the best option for the Bulls for their SG spot.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) Caesar? I used This Machine and killed him amongst the big group of guards. I didn't even realize he was in the group until I was looting bodies afterwards. No, Legate Lanius. I did the Mr. House path, I'm still to do the NCR, Caesar and Benny path yet.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 21, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) I need to get back to New Vegas badly. Well I finally killed him. Guns don't do anything to him, cos he's got too much armor. The strategy I used was the ballistic fist that you pick up off one of his guards, and then use about 2 turbo's, and then you can punch him about 5 times before he can get you with his sword. That'll get his health down to about a quarter, then you kill his other 2 guards when he runs off, and then you should be able to kill him after that (just make sure you have enough stimpaks).

For anyone into their House / Dance Music, this site is very good for keeping up with that. Just listening to the new Laidback Luke Essential Mix currently; http://djdavidbitton.com/blog.php

Marcus Thornton from the Hornets is also available for a 1st round pick. Has very good ability offensively, but defensively he's a mess, that's why Monty Williams won't play him.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 23, 2011 -> 12:37 AM) Because usually the magnitude of damage is a very, very strong function of the building codes and their enforcement. I always sorta thought of NZ as a fairly modern area where they know quakes are coming. Don't think there was any warning at all that this was coming, happened about 10-11AM local time. It wasn't that big of a quake obviously only being a 6.3, it just did the majority of the damage in the city centre and with it being a weekday, you had people at work in buildings etc. who are still now trapped.
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 22, 2011 -> 11:59 PM) Jeez - seems like the September quake set the table for this one. I was in Christchurch about 3 years ago at this time of year. This is high tourist season for the area. My folks were on holiday in Christchurch exactly 1 year ago to this day, so it's definitely tourist season for sure. Sounds as if 200 people are still trapped in buildings, so that's pretty horrific to say the least. For AUS and NZ, it's been a pretty bad 3-6 months for disasters like this, and unfortunately they're probably going to become more common into the future.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 22, 2011 -> 06:01 PM) You forgot Fields in the NYK rotation. Though I could see D'Antoni running out Billups-Brewer-Fields-Melo-Amare. God that team will get roasted alive defensively. Ah my bad, he's the one guy they didn't give up on. Yeah I could definitely see D'Antoni running out that small ball lineup. No way that team wins in the playoffs though.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 22, 2011 -> 05:20 PM) I'd go with those Denver teams overall over the current Knicks team. I can't believe they parted with Gailliro, however you spell it, a much younger and still improving PG in Felton and Chandler. Definitely one of the three. Maybe even two. But all three? And another thing, didn't Denver get Brewer? It's damn confusing to keep up with who went where, here's as I understand it where everyone went; NY got - Melo, Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter, Renaldo Balkman. DEN got - Chandler, Felton, Galllinari, Mozgov, Knick 2014 1st rounder, GSW 2012 and 2013 2nd round picks, $3M. Then NY did this; NY got - Corey Brewer MIN got - Anthony Randolph, Eddy Curry, $3M. So right now the Knick rotation looks like this; PG: Billups / Douglas / Carter SG: Brewer / Douglas SF: Melo / Bill Walker / Balkman PF: Amare C: ? (Earl Barron will be signed I presume). On top of all that, looks like none of Felton, Gallinari or Mozgov are getting dealt to New Jersey at this stage. The Nets really want to move Devin Harris, the Mavs, Trail Blazers and Hawks are all really into him. The Rockets really want Nene, and I believe his contract is up at the end of the season, so Denver may not want to pay him long - term, so something could definitely get done there.

I'm too lazy to join a gym, so I'll do my 50 push ups in the morning, 50 push ups at night, work on my biceps with some dumbells (squats and normal extensions) and do the plank for bout 2 to 3 mins, and that's my routine.

Earthquake in Christchurch, NZ's 2nd biggest city has killed 65 so far. http://www.news.com.au/world/quake-aftersh...i-1226009960218

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 22, 2011 -> 05:02 PM) About f***ing time. I was getting sick of this s***. Couldn't even watch NBA TV anymore. The Knicks obviously get the best player in the deal. But they payed a STEEP price. They basically have no bench and no outside shooting to take the defensive pressure off Amare and Anthony. I love what Denver got back. They weren't going to succumb to Carmelo being a b****. I really don't see how the Knicks are any better than the Denver teams with Iverson and 'Melo. In fact, they might be worse. Well Amare is better than Iverson no doubt for starters. I'm most interested to see how Melo is going to fit in D'Antoni's 7 second or less offense. And he's not that good of a 3PT shooter either.
-
And Isaiah Thomas has done it again. D'Antoni's notorious for running out 7 or 8 man rotations, so the lack of depth for New York shouldn't hurt them too badly on that regard. Corey Brewer is an interesting pickup for them, guy can't shoot very well but he's very good defensively and the type of guy they need at the #2 spot. They'll probably sign Earl Barron as the backup big now, did decent for D'Antoni last season. I'd say the Knicks are probably about the 4th or 5th best team in the East right now. I like them more then Atlanta (just don't see that team doing well in the playoffs), but I don't see them beating any of the top 4 teams in the East as currently constructed.

Looks like we're gonna hav Edge vs Del Rio vs Christian at WM now.

Trying to finish Fallout New Vegas ATM. The last guy Legate Lanius, damn he's hard to kill.
