Good luck with that;

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 01:05 PM) Didn't Boston do this last season too? And then come playoff time, they got it together. They did, so you can never write them off. That said, without Perkins, that team really struggles down low right now, and with all of the question marks about Shaq and O'Neal's health, that's going to cause them a lot of issues in the playoffs.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 12:47 PM) 30 wins qualifies for fighting for the 8th seed. Eh, not really, Indiana should win around 35 games or so this season at least. 30-52 isn't what you would call a playoff record also. And Boston loses to the Bobcats at home. That team's starting to fall off the rails a bit. Knicks lost to the Bucks at home also.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) Except Jameer Nelson, Gilbert Arenas, Jrich, Hedo, and Redick would probably be all the best players on Cleveland Arenas is awful (1 for 11 tonight as we speak with Nelson out with a sprained knee). The other 4 I'll accept. You have to remember that team is without Jamison and Davis ATM, and been pretty banged up all season long. That and Byron Scott isn't a very good "players" coach also IMO.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 26, 2011 -> 10:53 AM) I really doubt that... I'd think Orlando would be at least fighting for the 8 spot without Howard. That's like homer Bulls fans saying the Bulls would have 15 wins without Derrick Rose. Crazy talk... That's what people thought Cleveland would be doing without Lebron this season as well. To me, they'd be a 30 win team at best.

Looks like Sucker Punch will be up for a few Razzies next year.

Just looking at the Hawks last 9 games, it's a pretty tough schedule to say the least. 3 games against Detroit, away games at Boston and Montreal. Without Sharp, I'd expect them to finish either 7th or 8th (depending on how Dallas does, Calgary are probably done now), which would mean a 1st round series against the Canucks or Red Wings.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 10:37 AM) BTW, TBoGT was great if you loved San Andreas. Vice City was my favorite, with SA being second. This was third, but was done extremely well. Only thing is, you could only spend your cash on very limited things, which stunk. The first misson in TBOGT when you have the Mafia guy strapped to a golf cart and you're lobbing pitching wedge shots at him is pretty hilarious. I actually probably enjoyed that add - on to GTAIV itself, because of the humor, but it still had that realism.

QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 02:33 PM) I don't think he's the most deserving candidate statistically, but I don't think anyone really gives a s*** about the statistical difference between him and Howard (which is really stupid IMO). They look at the teams and leave it at that. All in all, I think that Howard impacts the game much more than Rose does, and given his statistical edge over Rose, I think Howard deserves a lot more talk than he's been getting. JVG made a real interesting point on the NYK vs ORL broadcast last night. He basically said Orlando would be as bad as what Cleveland would be this season if they didn't have Howard, which considering how badly the rest of the supporting cast has played this season, I would actually agree with. I certainly don't think Rose will be the worst MVP winner of all time, he is deserving, but it shows you how much playing for a big market team and being the jewel in the media's eyes, how important that type of stuff can be I guess. I mean the reason the Bulls have improved so much this season, isn't because of an offensive improvement (they've only improved from 18th to 12th IIRC). It's because of defense, and that takes the whole team to buy into the system and become so good at it.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 06:46 AM) Wesbrook vs. Rose isn't even all that close. Rose is beating Westbrook in Win Shares by almost 3 entire wins (11-8). They're very similar offensive players, but Rose is by far the better defender. Westbrook's assist numbers look good because of that dude named Kevin Durant. Westbrook also has a 45% eFG overall compared to Rose's 48%, meaning Westbrook is taking a lot less 3s than Rose (the similar 3 point percentages then don't really speak the truth as to who is the better 3 point shooter). If you look at how each of these guys take their shots, Rose is the better jump shooter and also finishes better on drives and inside the paint. The only thing that Westbrook is better than Rose at offensively is drawing fouls - which is not really a skill, but in the hands of the referees. I don't know how many times people have complained that Rose doesn't get enough calls - well, he has lately and I think that's going to continue as his reputation gets stronger. I really don't think there's much of a debate as to who is better between the two. Only in the ever-so-broken PER do these two look remotely close. Better stats related to win shares show that there's a much higher disparity between the two. I'll take Westbrook as a better defender over Rose. I think the Durant argument is an interesting one also. Now that Jeff Green isn't there, James Harden is really the only other guy who can score on that team, and he's a sixth man. Rose doesn't have the quality of player of Durant on his team, but he has more scoring options alongside him as well. FWIW, here's another article arguing why Rose shouldn't be MVP; http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...better-choices/

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2011 -> 02:26 AM) Let me put it this way. #1 Westbrook isn't even the most valuable player on his own team. #2 Take Rose off of the Bulls, and take Westbrook off of the Thunder, which team crashes more? #3 The Bulls are the #1 team in the East. OKC is 4th. #4 The system the Thunder run is much more friendly to individual stats, versus the system the Bulls run. #5 If stats are the big deal, then we shouldn't talk about either Rose or Westbrook, take it to its logical conclusion, and make someone like Kevin Love MVP, because his stats are awesomeness. #4 I would have a query on. Scott Brooks is a defense first type of coach similar to Thibodeau really. You'd think Westbrook would have even better numbers if he played under a coach such as D'Antoni or Alvin Gentry for example.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 11:17 PM) So I gave Grand Theft Auto 4 another go since I just got bored with it getting it at midnight on launch day and everything. But its the same... the game just isn't that fun. I've heard lots of similar opinons to this, but to me it was my favourite GTA game so far. And I base that off playing on PC with a 23 inch monitor and the graphics set on max. I think it's more realistic then what San Andreas was, although it doesn't have the same sort of humor.

Knicks are skidding, Magic only played decent for bout half the game tonight still won by 12. Only 14 TO's, which is a big time improvement for us. MVP race should be down to 2 now. And you think the Celtics are missing Kendrick Perkins right now? Ourebounded tonight by 6, and Jeff Green a -8 off the bench. Miami only a game and a half back now. I think the Bulls have got the #1 seed wrapped up.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 05:27 PM) Well I suppose you are the Official Soxtalk Nicknamer.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 05:16 PM) The one where he got away with a brutal travel? In all seriousness, it was a great pass though. And also in all seriousness, Vince Carter looks done. Agreed on Carter. Orlando came to that conclusion about Carter in the Boston playoff series last season. J Rich has been a slight upgrade, but he's also very streaky (can look great 1 minute and can't hit his shot at all the next). Gortat's been a great pickup for PHX though.

Lakers vs Suns was probably GOTY right there. Anyone else see Steve Nash's pass in second overtime when he was double teamed and falling?
-
Maybe some behavioral based questions (e.g Give us an example of when you dealt with an angry customer before and what you did etc.)
-
Wow, that's just absolutely terrible. Hopefully they get what's coming to them (the parents).
-
We've got a nice little run going, and we play only 5 teams above .500 in the East the rest of the way (including NYK twice). 3rd seed still possible if the Heat go cold towards the end.
-
Big win for the Hawks there in Phoenix.
-
So here's an interesting subplot, the Knicks lose again today to Milwaulkee. If that team doesn't get out of the 1st round of the East (not looking likely), is Mike D'Antoni's job in question here?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 12:58 AM) If the Lakers convince the Magic to take Bynum and his 50 year old knees for Howard, I will be very disappointed in the Magic. Everyone keeps throwing around "If healthy" with Bynum. Thats the thing, the kid is never healthy. He has missed significant time with injuries to both knees in each of the past 4 seasons. If Howard leaves the Magic, my guess is he'll join the Nets in Brooklyn. Everyone keeps linking him to the Lakers, but the last thing he wants to do, is to be compared to Shaq (in terms of bolting Orlando for Los Angeles).
-
QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Mar 19, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) No. Dumb. My comparison wasn't for both as players, it was for the flagrant fouls. Bynum's was argubly worse IMO. Guess I should have pointed that out in my original post though.
