QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 11, 2011 -> 07:26 PM) This month is hell for a gamers wallet. Certainly is, and there's still Saints Row 3, Assassins Creed Revelations and a few others to come out.

Busy day for IGN, 3 9.5's given out, and now a 10 for Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. http://au.wii.ign.com/articles/121/1212220..._source=twitter

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) So in tonight's campaign, Rick Perry says he wants to eliminate three departments from the federal government. Then he can only name two of them. Don't think I've seen a candidate who has crashed and burned in a period of 2 months. more in my life.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 10, 2011 -> 04:02 AM) Started playing MW3 yesterday. Pretty good so far. Nothing too much different from MW2. The graphics and game play are really smooth. Think that's going to be the major gripe with it. IIRC, they didn't build a new engine or anything from the previous game.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 8, 2011 -> 01:52 AM) I don't see why. Though the stories are absolutely exceptional, they rarely last longer than 6-8 hours. MW2 was super short, but fun as f***. I'll rent the third in a few weeks and cruise through that story, I reckon. Just from a single player / campaign perspective, I'm into MW's style of Big Explosions / Cinematic feel then what Battlefield goes for. That's not to say Battlefield 3 didn't have a bad campaign though.

So I'm looking at spending 2 weeks in New York in May next year with about 8-9 friends, and we're looking at renting an apartment for all of us. Does anyone have any recommendations on particular web-sites / companies to look at?

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) Or had sex with an underager? Or he got a haircut (maybe I'm 3 years too late with that joke)?

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 4, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) Absinthe....that is all. I went to a free absinthe party at Greenhouse in New York a few years back. Man oh man, does that stuff get a hold of you or what.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 6, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) This guy will take Thor, thank you. Yeah I'd probably just agree with that, both were pretty decent, certainly not in the Iron Man 1 league or anything, but both were a lot better than Green Lantern at least.

Finished Battlefield 3 Single Player Campaign in about 7-8 hours. Thought it could have been longer actually. I'd be expecting more from MW3 myself.

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 4, 2011 -> 10:03 PM) I also haven't really identified a goal keeper. I had one who has played the position before in a league, but I wasn't impressed during drills. No instincts were present. When in doubt, pick the tallest person available. -
Anyone else listened to the new Coldplay album? Certainly not as good as some of their past work, Don't Let It Break Your Heart is one of their catchiest tunes they've done in a while though.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) 3-4-3 in high school? I covered a lot of high school soccer this fall and can't recall a 3 defender formation off the top of my head and certainly not a 3-4-3. Some teams went 3-5-2 for stretches of games, but I haven't seen a 3-4-3. I was kind of hoping to see something like that just for variety. What some coaches call variety is playing with a flat back four instead of using a sweeper. You must have a very progressive varsity coach. Is soccer a winter sport in Texas? I can only dream of such a thing haha. The weather for one thing, but to not have to compete with football for the best athletes would be nice. I think Chile under Biesla may have utilised the 3-4-3 formation a lot from memory. You need quick defenders if it's going to work though (and wingers actually willing to push back). -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 3, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) I saw Green lantern yesterday. Very rushed, very disappointing Yeah definitely the worst of the comic book movies to come out so far. Wonder if they'll still look into a sequel for it though.

Man those graphics look bad-ass;

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 1, 2011 -> 11:39 AM) In some ways, I like Gingrich better than any of the other candidates. I think he is very sharp, he has a track record of working across the aisle, and he's very legislatively savvy. Of course he is also the biggest asshole amongst the den of assholes. From an outsider's point of view I'd agree with this. He seems to be the least "wacky" and has some actualy decent policy ideas.

I'm guessing Mace Windu didn't really do it for anyone?

Got around to watching Super 8 tonight. Good to see the Cloverfield's Monster's Cousin make an appearance.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 05:11 PM) GTA V trailer comes out in like 9 hours. Should find out a location and maybe a main character. Anyone want to predict it's not going to be set in Los Angeles? I've heard it could feature multiple main characters. I'd quite like em to do a different city though (something like New Orleans or even Chicago would be good).

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 2, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) Uncharted 3 is like Uncharted 2 but just has that extra shine. I just watched the whole game chapter by chapter on Youtube. Pretty much the cheating way of doing it, but at least I can see how the story is etc. even if I'm never going to play it. I was a bit disappointed in the ending though, in terms of what they did with the main villian.

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 31, 2011 -> 01:01 PM) Wonder how the media would treat Romo if he was the QB in Jacksonville his whole career or a smaller market. Nature of the beast really. But I think right now, his career as a Cowboy is at it's most tenuous point right now. I think Jerry Jones is going to try and trade up for Andrew Luck in the draft if the Cowboys don't finish above .500. Because right now, the defense has actually been pretty good (besides tonight), and the running game is improving with DeMarco Murray. It's the passing game which has been the weakness, which you wouldn't have thought at all coming into this season. Now a lot of that boils down to protection (especially in the interior), but I think if Jerry has a chance for trade up for Luck, he's going to do it, well because he's Jerry Jones.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 12:35 PM) The emphasis on story in games recently has drastically changed and I love it. Hopefully this means shooters are finally taking a back seat because many of them have weak stories and focus on multiplayer. Batman, Uncharted and AC being top tier titles is a great thing IMO. I'd probably play more shooters if they put more focus into single player. Crysis 2 was fantastic, but I beat it 3 times and sold it because the online play bored me. It's so hard to break into shooters online because they're all similar enough that someone new to online shooters has to go up against someone with years of heavy online hours experience. Battlefield 3's problem is probably going to be the point you've brought, the single player campaign is meant to be fairly weak compared to the multiplayer. Will be interesting to see how much better if at all Modern Warfare's 3 Simple Player Campaign will be I guess.

Did Bachmann call Africa a country?

Just finished Deus Ex Human Revolution. The ending was terrible I thought. Boss Battles were also pretty bad, but the rest of the game was pretty good.
