  1. Lebron's gonna feel great tomorrow? At some point you wonder if that guy even cares at this point. No doubt you'll see rumors of Spoelstra being thrown under the bus coming out from Lebron's crew over the next 24-48 hours, pretty inevitable really.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 12:56 PM) However the CBA works, they will get to keep Wade/Lebron, its Bosh thats up in the air. For all I said bad about Wade, he really stepped up in the finals, its just a question of Wade/Lebron playing that way together. It just doesnt seem to happen like it should. Losing Bosh could potentially even help them because they may not feel the need to force it a third guy. As long as they have Wade/Lebron Miami is going to be a nightmare team. Funny how the stats at the end would only refer to how Wade and Lebron were doing, not Bosh, he's really become an afterthought now. That team really needs a bonafide stud defensive center to allow Wade and Lebron to do their thing offensively. Someone like Dwight Howard would be perfect, but that's not happening. I wonder how a healthy Andrew Bogut would go on that team instead of Bosh actually.
  3. Saw Lebron was the first Miami player to walk out at the end, did he even shake anyone's hand from Dallas? If not, obviously hasn't learned from the backlash of 2 years ago, just a CLASSLESS individual. Congrats to Dallas and to Nowitski, his legacy as a bonafide star in the NBA is complete now you would think. EDIT: Just saw Kap's post. Oh well.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) Wait, what? What's going on? Philly's desperate to trade Iggy's contract so they can move both Turner and Young into the starting lineup. Iggy would give Orlando for instance a quality perimeter defender which they don't have ATM, although his contract is something like 56/3 left on it (but that's just off the top of my head). Golden State's shopping Ellis big time because they realize a Curry / Ellis backcourt just ain't gonna cut it defensively. I actually wonder if the Nets would go after Ellis and pair him with Deron Williams to try and convince him to stick around (Outlaw + something maybe)? Chicago would be hard pressed to acquire Ellis or Iggy without giving up either Deng or Boozer in a trade.
  5. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) Looks like I'm gonna end up getting one using some graduation money, because my current PC is on its last legs. So, since its only 4GB, is it even worth getting games like Mass Effect (since I can't play the original on PS3), Gears, or Fable 2 & 3? Bioware should follow Valve's lead and release a Mass Effect 3 package on March 6 for say an extra $20 that includes the 1st 2 games also on the one CD, pretty much what they did with the Orange Box a couple of years back. Be nice if they could update the graphics or something on the 1st game though. So what's everyone been impressed by at E3 so far? Games wise, obviously great to finally see some Mass Effect 3 footage being a huge fan, all the Kinnect announcements have pretty much been disappointments which isn't a major shock, the WiiU seems like it has some major potential, and Nintendo obviously had to get a new console in there with the Wii Novelty running out of steam. Some of the Unchartered 3 and Modern Warfare 3 trailers have looked awesome also, but you expect that from those franchises.
  6. Well at least I won't have to listen to Jackson on the Broadcast Booth no longer after this season. Very interesting hire, and I actually applaud the Warriors owners for going down that pat and swinging for the fences. Sure they could have gone a safe option with a guy like Dwayne Casey, but that franchise needs some buzz, and Jackson is at least going to give the franchise more air time in the media's eyes.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 12:22 AM) Which might be a totally different indictment of his character... Certainly don't think Dwight's motivated by money or fame etc. if so he'd probably be headed to LA, which the likes of Mike Wilbon have been wishing for years. Makes good business sense more than anything though, if he can get a max level deal locked on for another 4 years I suppose. And if it does happen, Otis Smith simply has to acquire as many expiring contracts as he can. Amnesty waive Arenas if you can do that, and go as hard as you can after either CP3 or Deron Williams in FA for the next off-season.
  8. Umm wow if true (from a local beat Orlando writer);
  9. This Barcelona team is probably the best club team I've seen in my lifetime. They just wear you down with their passing and constant possesion.
  10. Boozer's contract is almost untradeable I'd argue at this point. This is why I've said for a while, this season was the Bulls' best chance at winning a championship, because Boozer is getting past his prime, and with the Bulls' cap situation it's going to be hard for them to make upgrades.
  11. Only saw the last 4 mins on my lunch break today, but today's result wasn't an upset for me, thought the Heat would come up all guns blazing, which they eventually did down the stretch. Miami simply did a much better job on the boards this time, looks like the Big 3 took it upon themselves to rectify that situation from Game 1. Rose obviously didn't have a very good game, more FGA's than points, that 3 airball towards the end, that was just bad offense. I said coming in I thought Chalmers defense on Rose would be the key to the series but he only played 5 mins tonight, Bibby got 34 mins, which I'm very surprised by. As for the Bulls, I don't think they can win if Rose isn't on the top of his game. Deng obviously didn't have it today on offense either, and Boozer's pretty much a black hole right now with that injury of his. Still I think Boozer's contract is going to become Rashard Lewis like bad from the start of next season. I have my doubts whether he can even replicate this season's numbers again going forward considering factors such as his age, injury history and not being a natural fit in Thibs' offense.
  12. QUOTE (Felix @ May 18, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) s*** is so rigged David Kahn agrees with you. And he'll probably get quite the fine from David Stern now.
  13. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ May 18, 2011 -> 05:08 PM) If you look at this years stats Noah put up better numbers on the boards and scoring wise than Bynum, that being said we all know Bynum is the better offensive player but i think it closer than you think. Then the bulls can throw in a young, gifted Taj Gibson who would more than make up for the little offensive differnce in Bynum and Noah, Then you throw in the picks that LA cant and I think it blows any offer LA can put out there ubless they do indeed decide to part with Gasol which if i were the magic id still have to think about it We've already got 2 young PF's in Bass and Ryan Anderson, so I couldn't see us having an interest in Gibson to be fair. There was a good article I read yesterday, when a new CBA is ageed upon, if there is a hard cap, there is a good chance each team will be able to "amnesty waive" any player to get below the cap. Gilbert Arenas for example would be ideal for that situation. The Magic could do that with him and Hedo's contracts (although they'd have to work out how much to pay off etc.), and have about $40M in salaries for the next season. If they could do that, that could put them in the ballpark for CP3 for the 2012-2013 season, and I think that's exactly what Otis Smith is hoping for right now. There have also been rumors that we're after Andre Igoudala from the Sixers (probably in a swap for Hedo + something), but nothing is close to being done there.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 13, 2011 -> 10:39 PM) This series has Rose, Lebron, Wade, Boozer, Bosh, Deng, but it will all come down to Mario Chalmers. LOL, we are not at Kansas anymore, Toto. Like Brian said, I highly doubt you don't see LeBron or Wade on Rose most of the time. When you have two top scoring options like that, it's OK if one of them gets a little tired out on the defensive side of the court. Didn't say it would all come down to that, I think that element will be a major factor in the series though, and probably one that people will overlook initally. One of the major reasons why Atlanta took that series to 6 games was because Jeff Teague actually did a pretty decent job (except when Rose blew up in a couple of games), and I don't think anyone expected that before the series, especially when he had no help without Hinrich.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ May 13, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) I would be shocked if either Wade or Lebron are NOT guarding Rose most of the time. I think that will definitely be the case whenever Bibby's out on the court, otherwise I think they'll try to keep those 2 as fresh as possible on the offensive side of things. If you put one of those guys on Rose for a whole game, you're probably going to depend on Bosh scoring around 20PTS to keep things running smoothly on offense, and I don't think they can rely on that in a tough playoff style of basketball especially when the Bulls are so good on the interior defense.
  16. I think the series will come down to simply how well Mario Chalmers can defend Rose. He's clearly better than Bibby defensively, and if he can at least hold Rose to say under 30 a night, I think the Heat will take the series in 6. The Bulls will need Boozer to play as well as he did today, and to beat Boshtina in that matchup (which despite his injury, he's probably capable of doing). I still like the Thunder to win the whole thing though, they were my pick from the start and I'm sticking with that.
  17. Nothing made me happier this series then seeing Big Baby Davis play terribly, there's a career bench player for you right there. To put it simply, the big trade that Boston made probably cost them this series. Green and Kristic really didn't do anything at all, and you'd have to think with Perkins in there, defensively they would be have been better, and the series would have gone to 6 or 7.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 11, 2011 -> 01:02 AM) This is the best and most realistic scenario I've seen. Everybody pretty much comes out a winner. But let's just hope it doesn't happen, anyway. Dwight/Kobe, even Kobe at this stage in his career, would be pretty filthy. I'd love to get Dwight out of the conference. But not to the Lakers. Yep, that's quite an interesting trade scenario to say the least. If we could buy-out Arenas, suddenly Orlando could actually have some cap room again. Don't know if Morrow would be enough as a 2nd piece though. But it's something certainly to consider. Still I think Otis Smith will hold his nerve, and hang onto Dwight until at least the ASB next season, but then a Melo situation is likely to develop. I mean it's going to be hard for us to get better just because we're so far up cap wise, and we've got some really untradeable contracts, plus J-Rich is likely to leave as a FA. As I've said before, I think we need to get younger at other key positions, and try to bring back players who have success in our system in the past e.g I'd love to get Courtney Lee back with the Magic, because he's exactly the type of glue 2 we need, and he's good friends with Dwight.
  19. Watching Sportscenter and that's the 5th time in 48 hours I've seen Michael Wilbon mentioning Dwight Howard to the Lakers, may have to start a Wilbongate watch or something. He's mooting something like Bynum and Odom / Gasol for Dwight. Frankly we'd have no interest in either Odom or Gasol I'd feel, because of their age, and for Odom's sake, we've got a very similar player (albeit one who's probably worse) in Hedo Turkolglu. For them to have ANY shot at landing Dwight, they'd have to trade Gasol plus picks plus I dunno Shannon Brown to say Golden State for Stephen Curry or Sacramento for Tyreke Evans. And then trade that guy with Bynum to get Howard. And I still see Howard going to the Nets to play in Brooklyn with Deron Williams and a high draft pick than going to the Lakers and playing with an aging roster and an aging Kobe Bryant who's past his best.
  20. If only Memphis' guards could have shot a little better they would have pulled that game out. Have to say that Hollins has out-coached Brooks in this series so far, but OKC have the 2 star quality players who have bailed them out when they've had to for the most part. Can't wait to watch the replay tonite.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 5, 2011 -> 10:07 PM) Dirk is one of the most truly unique players to ever play the game. I don't think there's ever been anybody like him. Yep definitely. And I think he's certainly much more of a leader on that team now, definitely more so than when they lost to GS in the 1st round about 4-5 years back.
  22. Mass Effect 3 delayed to 2012 Q1 now. I think there's pretty much a direct correlation to this, and the reception that Dragon Age 2 got, which they pretty much rushed out. If it takes an extra 3-6 months for them to make the game as good as ME2 was, I'm happy with that.
  23. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ May 4, 2011 -> 11:47 AM) I want to try to learn some French because I'm going to be working the Tour de France in July. I just got back from working an IRL race in Brazil and it def. sucks not speaking the native language; makes things very difficult. Would love to go to the TDF one day, where abouts are you going to be based for the race?
  24. Suprised Wilbon didn't fit in a little shot at SVG in that article. Atlanta simply needs to get better production from Horford, Smith and Crawford. I'd have the least confidence in Smith out of those 3 actually, and he's probably got the best matchup to exploit defensively in Boozer. I think Atlanta would be pretty content where they are, and Noah hands down beat Horford today, I think Atlanta would back in Horford to come out strong and rebound in game 3. I had a friend who's a Lakers fan down here who put $150 on OKC to win yesterday, and then decided to match that bet on the Lakers today. I think it's time Dirk started getting some national love, some of the jumpers he was hitting today were fantastic to watch. And that team on paper you wouldn't bet on against the Lakers, but Rick Carlisle is doing a very good job there.
  25. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 4, 2011 -> 11:21 AM) This isn't directed at anyone here, but I am going to smack the next person I hear mention Rondo as one of the elite PGs along side Rose, Paul, Williams and Westbrook. He doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as any of those guys. Averaged less than 10 points a game in March and April and his shooting percentage dropped to 40% since they traded his best friend off the team. Says a lot for his maturity as a person and a player really.
