  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 01:13 PM) Orlando with the worst week in NBA history. 56 points against Boston on Monday. They blow a 27-point lead against Boston on Thursday. A 26-point beatdown against the might Hornets on Friday. And today they lose by 21 at home against the Pacers. Edit: I see they beat the Pacers on Tuesday. Still an awful week for them. Indeed. Chances of keeping Dwight went from 15% at the beginning of the week, down to about 5% ATM I'd say. "Fire Otis. Fire Otis."

  3. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 07:16 AM) With the Aussie crowd going to be very anti-Berdych he doesn't have a chance. Plus he's not playing that well. He needed 4 sets and 3 tiebreakers last round. Doesn't get much closer than that. Just got booed coming out on court. Be surprised if he comes close to taking a set from Rafa tonight.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Poor, DBAHO Ha, nice to see I am remembered from time to time (don't think people will be comparing Orlando to the 83 Celtics on this thread anytime soon). And really, I can't give any excuses. Probably the most insipid effort since I've been a Magic fan. We haven't beaten 1 good team this season so far (don't count the Lakers because they've been pretty bad themselves).
  5. Gallinari had 37 points also. Anthony was 10 for 30 in the end. He's just killing any offensive efficiency that team has. Amare didn't even attempt a shot in the 4Q or both OT's apparently.
  6. Another good column on the Dwight situation; http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AsFa...kers_nba_012112

  8. "Fire D'Antoni!!!" And this should get some discussion going;
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 02:23 AM) Not much. Crazy talk then. For what he's making right now contract wise, and the numbers he's put up this season, he's very valuable.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 01:12 AM) That something had better be a whole heck of a lot of draft picks. Jameer Nelson has negative value, and Redick doesn't exactly build for the future. To deal their one main national and local draw, they'd actually have to get something of value back. However, the Magic have nothing of value beyond Dwight. Wouldn't say Nelson has negative value, he's got 1 more year left on his deal (player option I believe), so there are worst contracts to take on if you're looking to dump salary long - term. Yeah he's probably one of the lower tier starting PG's in the league right now, but I'd say that's more based on him not coming into the season in shape more than anything else. It's why I think if Orlando can actually upgrade at the PG spot, we can get to that next level. And also you're implying that Ryan Anderson doesn't have any value whatsoever?
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 01:39 PM) They have to trade Nash this year to a contender. Give him a shot at a ring. Maybe Lakers? Orlando would be great if he became available (Nelson + Redick + something?) Also saw a blurb that Boston may make Paul Pierce available if they mail it in. I believe he's got 2/32 after this season though.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) I can hate on him for it. Winning isn't his #1 priority. Who's to say he wouldn't be on a better team than the Clippers (assuming they would can VDN for a real coach, and somehow they keep Paul and Griffin). Certainly the above scenario would look better than the Bulls without Deng IMO. But the Magic are playing pretty good ball in the meantime, just finished a 4-0 road trip and we're 9-3. If only we could somehow get an upgrade at PG (e.g would love Kyle Lowry), then I'd put us down as real contenders.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) Why the hell is he still on the bench? I hear a lot of this chatter about this, and how Scotty Brooks rotates his minutes etc. But right now, with the team playing the way they are, why would you change anything? Harden will play 30 mins a night anyways regardless of him starting or not.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 15, 2012 -> 12:25 PM) Martz is really bad at his job, isn't he? He is, unless he's got an amazing offensive line and 3 top WR's. e.g He'd be good at New Orleans and Green Bay, but that'd be bout it off the top of my head.
  15. FWIW, it sounds like Dwight is engaged to an aspiring singer from LA. Maybe that's a possible reason why Chicago doesn't interest him (thinking from the Carmelo scenario playing out again).
  16. Can't say I have much interest in Noah with what he's done this season. In the end, if the Magic do trade him, I think it'll be Bynum plus another young star player e.g Stephen Curry. Now obviously that would have to be a multi - team deal etc., but that's probably what the Magic end up looking for. Or more likely, they'll hang onto Howard for the rest of the season, and if he does leave in the off-season, they'll do a sign and trade deal.
  17. I think after Horford's injury today, I'd be pretty confident in saying the Magic are the 3rd best team in the East right now. Could they beat the Bulls or Heat in a playoff series as currently constructed? Probably not, I'm hoping that they look into signing Aaron Brooks as a backup PG in March, and try to trade for an upgrade in the PG/SG/SF spot. But it will always come out down to how the Magic shoot from the outside. If they get hot and have sufficient ball movement as they did back in the playoff run they had 3 seasons back, I think we can compete with anybody on our day.
  18. Pretty nice win for the Magic tonight in Portland, giving the Trail-Blazers their 1st home loss of the season so far. Actually shows what we're capable of when there's sufficient ball movement on offense and guys like Turkloglu and Jameer Nelson play to their potential.

  20. Wilbon's an idiot when it comes to anything Hoops related.
  21. Brutal 2nd quarter, just couldn't hit an open jumper. Anderson needs to get it going, otherwise it's a surefire loss coming up.
  22. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 01:59 AM) I got married in Skyrim. My real wife thinks I'm weird. Wasn't an Orc was it?
  23. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jan 6, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) Not earth shattering, but its something i guess? Bulls Or Knicks Could Land Dwight Howard Chicago may be a logical landing place for Dwight Howard. With fellow Adidas superstar Derrick Rose a Bull, and Joakim Noah a defensive big man who could be sent to Orlando in a trade, Howard could wind up in the Windy City. Adidas would be delighted with that turn events, as the Nike rival ironically locks down the big Chicago market that Michael Jordan once ruled. The Knicks may also be in the running to bring Howard to New York. Sources tell Ken Berger not to be surprised if a trade sending Amar'e Stoudemire back to his native central Florida for Howard begins to gain traction. Stoudemire's uninsurable knees and James Dolan's willingness to sign off on a trade parting with the All-Star forward are seen as the two biggest obstacles to such a deal. It could also be that the Knicks would have to include Tyson Chandler in any such discussion with the Magic. Via CBS Sports Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21808...d#ixzz1iegXf8TS That would have to be one of the more amusing Dwight rumors I've heard this season. I'm actually more confident of keeping him than I was at the start of the season. And that's all because of 2 words. Ryan Anderson.
