  1. After what the Magic have done after the past 6 games or so (albeit the team was decimated by a stomach bug), I wonder if Otis Smith is getting antsy to make a move at the wing position. Don't think we can get out of the East as currently constructed (unless Lewis and VC both play at their best which I don't see happening in the playoffs). Lewis's falloff as a player has been quite dramatic to say the least.

    Winter...LOL

Weather is back in the 80's back home in Melbourne apparently. We had snow 2 weeks ago here, and are expecting quite a bit more by the end of the week. Last week was pretty mild actually.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 13, 2010 -> 01:07 AM) Why are we looking at D-Rose as a pure point guard. Right now, in a game I had to win, I'm taking Derrick Rose over anyone on that list. He can score from f***ing anywhere and he can set his teammates up. He is amazing. Because pure point guard's are usually better than scoring point guards. Rose's defense drops him down that list, pure and simple. He improves that, then you can put him on the same level as CP3 IMO.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 9, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) Get to show those people how to party. Not well........
  5. Mayo needs to be traded to a team that's willin to make him a PG. Don't think he'd be a good fit with the Bulls as a SG, especially alongside someone who dominates the ball as much as Rose does for instance. e.g Atlanta would be an interesting option

    Nashville, TN

Nashville would probably be in my top 3 cities in America I'd say. The nightlife's excellent and they make some damn good BBQ. Excellent college at Vanderbilt as well.
  7. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) An event such as this could be hilarious. Most often times posters arent quite the same personality in real life as you would view them becasue of how they seem on the web. I picture a lot of awkward mumbling at the bar. LOL And Jeff will more than likely drink you under the table (as I found out one evening).....
  8. Bet they'll go after Jon Gruden. But that 6-0 start from last season has got to be one of the biggest flukes of all time now.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 06:25 PM) Worth checking out is this list of the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. Just behind the OC area, which is housing bubble ravaged...Seattle is the largest metro area in the U.S. without an NBA team. San Diego, St. Louis, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh are your next ones on the list (although the Wiz probably count for Baltimore). If Seattle ever got their arena situation sorted out, they would make the most sense IMO. I always remember the great fan support they had back in the 90's when the likes of Kemp, Payton and Detlef Schrempf were playing there.
  10. Anyone else notice Tony Chimmel's voice always cracks when he does Edge's introduction?
  11. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 05:31 AM) Refs were a joke in that game, and I hardly complain about the refs in a game. Man how good would a guy like Courtney Lee look as a SG for the Bulls.. Been my beef with GarPax since the summer for not really addressing that after the Magic kept Redick. I reckon Lee would be IDEAL for the Bulls right now, in fact I hope Orlando end up signing him as a FA when Carter eventually leaves. Very coachable player, has 3PT range and he's solid defensively.
  12. Putz will probably get an offer to close somewhere, probably from Arizona I figure. Getting Linerink's $4M figure off the payroll makes very good business sense though. Depending if that money was meant for Pierzynski, the Sox could invest that in 2 RP's instead.
  13. As Ari Gold would say, I LOVE IT, BOOM!!! Wonder if we're paying any salary here. If not, we've done very very well.
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 01:36 AM) The Bulls still match up well against Boston. They better hope they get them in the playoffs again then.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:37 PM) I dont really see that happening either. You think Lebron James complaining about his minutes and Chris Bosh saying "We just want to chill" is going to be resolved when Riley and his hellish practices step into the building? You think that Riley is going to be able to hold Lebron accountable, when that has never happened in his entire life? Dont think so. They will win some games based purely on talent, but this team doesnt have depth. The Bulls, Magic, Celtics, Hawks all have depth. The Bulls may have gotten run out by the Magic last night, but I dont see that as a reason to say that they have a long way to go before they get on the Heats level. I don't think the Bulls' depth is at Orlando or Boston's level just yet. Gibson is a very good backup PF, Asik's still got a way to go, Korver's a decent scorer off the bench, and Brewer will eventually take over for Bogans at the 2. Miami's probably only going to use an 8 man rotation or thereabouts come playoff time regardless I would have thought. All Miami has to do is play with at least 80% effort. When they did that against Orlando, they beat us by about 27. That's what they are capable of, and I wouldn't put it past them come playoff time to produce that kind of basketball again. Who would have thought the Celtics for instance making it through the East at the end of the regular season for 09-10?
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) Was in the midst of the beginning of a heavy recession. True but saying that it's not like things are not back to where they were pre recession though. Still, it's good to see JR throwing some money around.
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Yeah, I was hoping Australia would land it if the US didn't. New area plus a more developed, bigger nation that actually has a solid team as well. It's a shame. The shame is Soccer has become the 2nd biggest sport in Australia simply off the back of Australia's performance in the 2006 World Cup and the subsequent rebuild of the new National League. Now with this news, I could see a lot of problems propping up potentially. We played in Qatar 1 or 2 years back also for an Asian Cup Qualifier, the Stadium was a shambles, the pitch was terible, it was about 35 degrees at 10PM at night and about 5,000 people showed to support the team IIRC. Don't know how they are going to get the crowd numbers, if people aren't going to stay there. Not all of them are going to fly in all of the time from Dubai as well.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) not seeing it Yet. I'm assuming that once Riley eventually takes over and they get Miller's outside shooting into the lineup (and possibly Haslem although that's not probable) they'll be contenders again.
  19. Dunn certainly got his big payday with this deal, much better than his last one from the Nats that's for sure. But we're getting a bonafide LH slugger in his prime, which is what KW has been going after for longer than I can remember. He'll instantly add a fantasic OBP/SLG to our lineup, and in this ballpark 45-50 HR's in certainly attaianable if all goes well I would have thought. I found this interesting though; Looks like the money is certainly being thrown around in Free Agency again by the owners.
  20. Pierce is money in the playoffs usually, Rose has got to perform at his level in the playoffs to get his past the likes of him IMO. Chris Paul is ranked way too low for my liking, was 6 last season now at 13, he's borderline top 5 I reckon. Interesting to see Rose is the 5th ranked PG on that list as well. How Turkolglu made the top 50 I don't know. Shaq at 35? Puh-lease. He hasn't been relevant for at least 2-3 seasons now.
  21. I think we should feel more dirty about missing than the US, the US at least had the World Cup 16 years ago, we've never had it, and if FIFA is all about taking the World Cup to new places, we should have got it. We have the stadiums built, we're a mad sporting nation and it would have been as good as Germany 2006 was IMO. FIFA is more corrupt than the IOC, NBA and other major sporting organisations around the world put together, the Panorama Documentary by the BBC proves that. Just sickens me.
  22. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 05:00 AM) I remember listening to the game a while back where the Magic ripped the Bulls by 40 something. They just always whoop on the Bulls. Yep which is why I'd love to play the Bulls in the Conference Semi - Finals. Last night showed the Bulls still have a long way to go if they want to get to Boston, Orlando and Miami's level, more of a reality check then anything.
  23. I love this whole Dwight trying to hurt Rose mentality BTW.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) BOOM! Does this make up for the "LeBron won't go to Miami" guarantee? Not until Arenas is traded. I think Orlando would actually do that if they could dump Lewis's contract along with VC's expiring deal and get Blatche back in a deal. Blatche alongside Howard would argubly give them the best frontcourt in the game today (I'd still take Byum - Gasol if Bynum was ever healthy though). PG: Nelson - Duhon SG: Arenas - Redick SF: Q-Rich - Pietrus PF: Blatche - Bass C: Howard - Gortat Not a bad 10 man rotation there.
