NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) It'd be: Nelson + VC + Gortat + 3 Firsts or something Consider this though. Out of those 3 teams, what could the Lakers and the Knicks offer that would be better than Nelson (starting PG who'd easily share minutes with Collson), VC (big expiring contract with Peja make NO major players in FA next off-season) + Gortat (upgrade as a starting C) for CP3 and Okafor? NY could offer say Randolph and Chandler plus something, the Lakers I doubt would move one of their big 4 (who are pretty old and don't have favourable contracts).

NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 03:19 AM) Chris Paul, according to Ken Berger of CBS, hopes to have played his last game for the Hornets and has set into motion a plan to be traded by the start of the upcoming season. His teams of choice are said to be the Knicks, Lakers and Magic, and people close to him have said he has played his last game for the Hornets. A trade to the Lakers would be disastrous for Paul's fantasy value, while a move to the Magic is probably not ideal, either. But if Paul could land in New York this fall, he oould have one of the biggest fantasy seasons we've ever seen from a point guard. Paul recently signed with LeBron James' marketing company, LRMR, which also fuels speculation that he will fight his way out of New Orleans, despite having two years left on his contract. Stay tuned. Jul. 21 - 8:22 pm et ----- I would bet money on NY Otis should be on the phone right now offering Nelson + VC + something else. We might have to take Okafor's contract back to make a deal though. Nelson + VC + Gortat for Paul and Okafor perhaps?

Inception Discussion Thread

QUOTE (ICP! @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) Me and my fiancee got in an argument on the way home from seeing Inception because I didnt understand a God damn thing in it. I love complex movies but I was not in the mood or even have the energy after working all day to stay with this one. Sounds like seeing Knowing all over again. FWIW, just saw Inception, thought it was very good to great, not as good as the Dark Knight, but still an amazing film in it's own right. I'll post some more detailed thoughts tomorrow when I get the time.- White Sox at Twins 7-18 game thread 1:05 first pitch
Quentin has been clutch these past few weeks.- NBA Offseason Thread
Shaq's never gonna agree to be a bench guy though, unless there's absolutely nothing else out there for him. Atlanta's probably the major competition at this point.- NBA Offseason Thread
The Bulls shouldn't give out anything more than 1 year deals to these guys regardless, to preserve their cap space for next season (unless they choose to give out long - term deals to Rose and Noah).- NBA Offseason Thread
Barnes was average against Lebron, Pietrus would usually do a better job, but he did a good job on Kobe whenever we played the Lakers. The problem with Barnes for us was that he wasn't good enough of a 3 PT shooter, and for our offense we need 4 shooters who can hit the 3 when you play with Dwight. But he'll bring some toughness and good movement off the ball on offense also.- 2010-2011 NHL thread
Will be nice to actually see what Makarov can actually produce over in North America, for a while I thought we were never gonna be able to sign him.- Official Squared Circle Thread

Can't see Portland wanting to do that deal. Bayless will be their starting PG when Miller's contract is up. Fernandez is definitely attainable though.- i am drunk
Why is Thurs Nite so big over here seriously? Damn gettin up for work in the monrin....- Sox sign Jeremy Reed
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 11:04 PM) I am seriously considering it, but I don't want his ass being released next week or something. Up until he got traded I had his name on here, so I might have to do it (I'll take the day to think it over). Thing is, I've had this name for like 5-6 years and I'm sure many are used to it, plus I was like 15 or so, so the name was more-so of a true fan and beginning prospect lover/follower. I will now look at my autographed Jeremy Reed baseball with pride. Booo... change it already....- THE ULTIMATE THREAD

QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 11:46 PM) Who was telling me in this thread awhile back that David Kahn has made better moves lately? That's 4 PG's, unless Sessions gets dealt http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/38243622/ns/...ts-player_news/ Heh that was me. I did quite like the Beasley trade, but the dumping of Jefferson for 2 1st rounders and this signing has lost me completely. I think he thought that he could trade Sessions to Charlotte also, that ain't happening now that they signed Livingston I'd imagine.- THE ULTIMATE THREAD
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) So, you're saying that he's very good at cornholing? And since you were so bad, would you say that he really gave it to you? Never played against him I don't think unfortunately. I do get what you are referring to though (Deadspin has quite a funny article about it with Carson Palmer IIRC).- Technology catch-all thread
Apple's share price did well today / yesterday (due to a subpar IPhone4 review).- Sox sign Jeremy Reed
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) ECSTATIC.... FREAKING ECSTATIC!!! Saw it on the minor league board first http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...p;#entry2208562 Best news I've heard in a long time since I've been here. Love Jeremy Reed. Are you going to change your username back now also?- Sox sign Jeremy Reed
QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 07:10 PM) SoxAce will be happy. Haha, my first thought when I saw this thread title also. Good to see him back, a little bit of deja vu.- The Bars Thread
QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 07:16 PM) You know I will dude. She has no control over me! I am my own man! I'm seriously thinking of doing the New York / Chicago double if I'm around next summer in the Northern Hemisphere, so I'll have to hold you to that.- THE ULTIMATE THREAD
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 10:52 PM) Giving or receiving? The former. Not but in all seriousness, that was my first cornhole experience at a tailgate and I absolutely sucked at it. He was actually pretty decent IIRC.- NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 14, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) Yes, Blake is a Laker. And I'm glad we didn't pay Livingston 7 over 2. Yes we need a backup point, but that's gonna be a 10-14 mpg spot for us. I'd rather sign someone cheaper and put real money elsewhere. Anthony Johnson is a veteran guy you could probably get on the minimum for example.- THE ULTIMATE THREAD
I have a great picture of Gage doing a little bit of Cornhole back in the day.- Second half predictions
KW makes a run at acquiring Dejesus for the umpteenth time. He'll probably end up in Boston though. Adding that BA and plate discipline to the top of our lineup though, would make our offense better going forward for sure. - Films Thread
