  1. QUOTE(Adam G @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) 1) Move one of the Cubans to the pen, preferably Contreras 2) Have you seen McCarthy's stats in the minors since he got sent back? He's getting crushed. Despite the gem he threw in Wrigley, he's not ready. It's not worth having Contreras who will make something like $6 million next season, pitching in the bullpen. Use him as trade bait for a young first baseman, a good third baseman etc.
  2. We had a thread on this a few months back IIRC, when one of the New York papers broke this story. Of course I'd love to have Daisuke Matzusuka the most, but he's probably headed to San Diego, or one of the big spending teams. Unless one of Contreras or Hernandez was moved, highly unlikely this evantuates.
  3. I am using Aboz's old Elisha Cuthbert Wallpaper.
  4. Whoa, I'm glad Mark is ok after that play.
  5. Hogs lost 5-4. Gio only went 3.2IP, with 4 K's, 0 BB's, and 2 ER. Daigle was 2 for 4. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...wswafx_wilafx_1 Charlotte lost 2-0. Munoz had a nice start, 6IP, 1ER coming off a homer, 1 BB and 5K's. Matt Smith gave up the other run. Anderson is down to .273 after going 0 for 3 with a walk. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...syraaa_chraaa_1 B-Ham are winnin 6-0. Heath Phillips with a great start so far, 0 ER, 5 K's. Sweeney with 2 hits, Andy Gonzalez 3 RBI's. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...mobaax_biraax_1 Kanny won 10-5 with a 5 run 9th inning. Clint King homered, Donny Lucy went 2 for 6 with 2 K's, and De Los Santos had 2 hits and 3 runs in the #2 spot. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...kanafx_hicafx_1
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) Bonderman is what... 8-4 now...? I know last night he went 7 innings and I think gave up 1 run and 3 walks.. but his ERA is under 4 (3.8..??) and he's got 70+ K's.. Not too bad. A lor of people picked him to be the breakout pitcher of the year. His last few outings before last night weren't great IIRC, but he's still had a good season. Helps pitching at Comerica though.
  7. QUOTE(Wolverine31 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) What are you laughing at our pitching staff for? We are in the top ten in MLB in team ERA, not that far behind your team. Bonderman and Johnson both have sub-4.00 ERAs; they have pitched great. The main problem has been the fact that we have really struggled to score runs since May 1. Guillen coming back and if Ordonez can get his pansy ass in the lineup should change that. Except the back end of the Tigers rotation ain't that great. Robertson has a 3.99 ERA. That won't last long with a 35/33 K/BB ratio. Wilfredo Ledezma has just been terrible, and there's no real other 5th starter alternative, which was the same problem we had the last couple of years. That can be the difference in a season.
  8. Around the league, Uribe's range, arm and quick feet haven't really been questioned at all, it's been his errors (or that was his main problem for the Rockies). He has 8 in 60 games so far this season. He had 11 all of last season.
  9. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 01:01 AM) I was wondering how long it'd take to get the Adam Scott update. Gotta root for the Aussies whenever I can on here Greasy, you should know that by now.
  10. So essentially I'm gonna ask this question; Do you prefer a guy with a great range but a bad arm in say Willie Harris, or a guy with a great arm but no so good range in Royce Clayton. On Clayton, he should of stayed in Colorado if he could, Alex Cintron is just about going to take his everyday spot.
  11. Adam Scott's got his fashion sense going, and he's in contention too.
  12. One other thing, a lot of us may have thought when KW said Neal Cotts was a better pitcher than Wunsch at SoxFest that he was dead wrong. Doesn't look so bad in hindsight now does it......
  13. Wunsch in the last month and a half; May - 6.48 ERA June - 5.40 ERA He was great early for them, but he's been hit hard lately. He does have a 2.53 ERA away from home though. He was always one of my favorite relievers. IIRC back in 2003, he had a big scoreless streak to start of the season.
  14. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) He can make as much money as he wants to....as long as its for some other team.... There'll definitely be a market for Konerko this off-season too. New York - If they can buy out Giambi's contract, or even if Timo Martinez retires. Anaheim - Need a DH, or he could play 1B and Kotchman or Erstad could DH. Boston - They'll want tp upgrade from Kevin Millar's production. San Francisco - Could upgrade from J.T Snow, especially if Jason Schmidt doesn't come back. New York Mets - Want to upgrade from Doug Mientkiewicz badly. Detroit - Konerko >>> Carlos Pena. And I wouldn't rule out Mike Illitch making a BIG offer, ala Maggs take 2. Toronto - With new ownership, they'll have increase payroll over the next few years. They need a big bat. Houston - If Jeff Bagwell retires, they'll need a replacement.
  15. Just on Konerko, does anyone not feel he's going to be making Richie Sexson like money next season? FWIW here are Sexson's stats this season thus far; .243/14HR/49RBI. .243/.349/.495 74 K's, 34 BB's.
  16. Oh boy, this keep getting better and better;
  17. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) I guess Willie could be moved, but I don't see it during 2005. As far as to Pitt, they have a lot of IFers. Esp 2b with Castillo, Hill and Sanchez ^^. There's no market for Willie there, unless it was a 3 team deal. I know you want ol' Robbie boy Jabroni, but it's not happening for Borchard and Harris.
  18. What the hell has Konerko been smoking lately.
  19. Julius Jones OWNAGE on Thanksgiving Day. That was a fun day.
  20. Yahtzee I have a quetion. When was the last time Pink Floyd played together as a group?

    Where's winodj with Bea Arthur when ya need him.
  22. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) He might be a late bloomer. I can't wait till he moves up to B-ham. Definitely something to watch over the 2nd part of the season.
  23. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) I don't think anyone is going to trade for him, I think he'll actually come back and continue his (to this point) stellar career. He may have walked on us and I still dislike him for that, but I can't forget what he did all those years for the Sox. He has about 1 HR in 135 AB's at Comerica IIRC.
  24. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) His power would be nice. Not the 48/13 K/BB ratio though.
