  1. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 22, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) Lets look at the real numbers Home .315/.359/.600 Away .248/.291/.405 So .70 points lowein in Avg 200 in Slugging, and 70 in OBP.. but Uribe wasn't a fluke hitting in the Cell.. He doesn't deserve the money we are giving him. What other SS, the one that has won something? Look get over the Cabrea trip we all know we lost out on a great player cause KW was to stupid to realize it., so instead we waste money on a player who can barely hit his weight on the road, and wonder why we can't win here Back to the topic at hand.Funny Pods hit better on the road .274 then he did hitting at home.. which is a good thing since.. you have to win both places to makes it.. and having Uribe on this team as our starting SS, sure as hell can't rely on him. So I guess Paul Konerko isn't worth $8,750,000 either because he can't hit well away from the Cell either, even though he puts up .277, 41 HR's and 117 RBI's. You're not going to find many productive everyday players who can hit better away at a pitcher's park than one hitting at home in a hitters park. Also about Pods, he went out to a lot of fly balls at Miller Park, and that's one thing that worries me with him hitting at the Cell. He's just gotta learn to hit the ball on the ground a lot more, and try and run out some singles to get on base.
  2. Utah takes on New Mexico away tonight to try and keep their unbeaten MWC record intact. Expect another big game from Bogut as usual, really looking forward to seeing how he does against some better competition in the next few weeks.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) Who the hell is Chris Anderson??? Some dude who's call to fame on a basketball court is his vertical leap, because frankly he can't do much else.

    QUOTE(moochpuppy @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Glad to see nothing has changed since I've been gone. Speaking of which mooch, long time no post, good to see you back round the place.
  6. A nice positive article here from Phil Arvia of the Daily Southtown;
  7. The thing is with Harris, a lot of us at this time last year thought he was going to be nothing more than a AAAA player, someone who's too good for AAA, but not good enough to be an effective everyday player. Still for all those Willie bashers, .262 with a .343 OBP wasn't the worst statistics for a second baseman in the league, especially for Willie in his 1st "full" season in the majors.
  8. 85 wins, but still a couple behind those pesky Twinkies.
  9. Looks like the WR FA market is looking pretty good talent wise this off-season;
  10. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 03:31 AM) No we just sign the ones who haven't won anything to 3-4 year deals to play SS, when their stats are vastly overrated because of thier home park. But, you guys here think that he is the next Tejada.. BWAHAHAHA. Might that just be because of the team they've been on. It's not Juan Uribe's fault he was stuck on a Colorado Rockies team with Todd Helton taking up a majority of the payroll.
  11. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) There is an idea, buy him out and then have him play for league min for 2 years.. that should be fine.. about 4 mil A hitter with a .434 OBP playing for the league min over the next 2 seasons. Alrighty then.
  12. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) Umm wait till Uribe comes out in 05... Tell me the basis of this statement, because here are some facts squarely against it; - US Cell is extremely beneficial to RH Power Hitters - He is not coming into training camp overweight, which was an early rumor in the off-season. - Had splits of .293/.340/.481 against RHP Although his home splits are definitely much better than his away stats, I can't see much of a reason to think Uribe will be a bust for about $2,500,000 next season, compared to other SS's in this league (you know who I'm talkin about).
  13. Big rumors going around that the Skins want to sign Rolle to replace Fred Smoot. I still think Mason will end up with the Giants, but that's just me.
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) It would be interesting to find out how people that decided to vote for Bush based on Moral Values and the like react to this. The Christianity Argument is going to start again real soon me thinks..........
  15. QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) true. forgot that. also heard parcells said he would never draft a CB in 1st round again? the 3-4 just creates more holes I think the Cowboys will probably trade down from one of their 1st round picks, to try and get an extra 2nd or 3rd (they don't hav a 3rd since they traded it for Henson), and maybe draft a CB in the 2nd or 3rd since it's a very heavy CB draft.
  16. QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Feb 20, 2005 -> 10:16 AM) Antrel Rolle. damn i hope he lasts until #11 Even if he does, I doubt Parcells and Jones will pick him though. If they move to a 3-4, which is becoming ever more the likely by the day, DE, DT, LB and WR will most likely be the 1st 2 selections the Boys make.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) Didn't Rolle just have some trouble with the law? I remember reading something about that recently. It was either him or one other guy. Yes he was arrested for assualting his wife.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Mason would get a lot of balls here. I know the Bears QB and O-Line situation was terrible last season but look at these receivers numbers. Thomas Jones - 56 receptions, 427 YDS, 0 TD's. David Terrell - 42 receptions, 699 YDS, 1 TD. Bobby Wade - 42 receptions, 481 YDS, 0 TD's. There would be better scenarios out there for Mason, teams such as the Giants, Steelers and Seawhawks will definitely make a run at him.
  19. I can't really see the Bears going after Rolle considering they already some good CB's already, and this draft is very CB heavy. As a Cowboys fan though, I'm hoping we can pick up Rolle, Ken Lucas or Anthony Henry, as we desperately need another veteran CB. Mason's an excellent receiver though, but I think he'd rather be in a situation where he'd get a lot of the ball, and play for a contending team. I don't think Chicago can offer him that situation, but money talks. I think Angelo will go for Williams or Edwards instead though.
  20. At least according to the Daily Southtown;
  21. QUOTE(beck72 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) Phil Rogers must be getting senile. Kennedy is recovering from knee surgery and Figgins will take over 2b until he's ready. Ana likes Figgins too much as he can play all 3 IF spots. Kennedy only plays 2b. Neither guy is moving any time soon That's exactly what I thought, I'd be stoked if we could get Figgins, but it ain't gonna happen at all.
  22. According to Mitch Lawrence of the NY Daily News;
  23. Tiggies still going with that win now mentality;
  24. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 20, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) Australian's dont eat much pizza? Not as much as America, it's all Subway and Health Crazes down here for Fast Food Joints nowadays though.
