SYDNEY International Airport has been shut down under a Code 3 security alert after a United Airlines plane returned to the airport this afternoon due to a security breach. The pilot of the Los Angeles-bound flight UA840 decided to return 90 minutes after taking off when threatening notes were reportedly discovered at both the Sydney terminal and on the aircraft. The aircraft was cordoned off by emergency vehicles and all 246 passengers and crew were being disembarked. The airline said the decision to return was made when "an object which raised some security suspicions was found was found on board". United said passengers were expected to fly out again at 11am tomorrow. Sydney radio 2UE said reports from Canberra said the emergency was "some kind of bomb hoax". Radio 2GB reported a fire in the hydraulics might have caused the flight to be aborted. The plane landed about 5.45pm (AEST). NSW Fire Brigades and the NSW Ambulance Service had multiple vehicles on the scene, and police had closed roads leading to the airport.

THE talking car that effortlessly upstaged David Hasselhoff in the 1980s cult TV series Knight Rider will be up for sale in an internet auction this week. The souped-up, 1983 black Pontiac Trans Am called KITT worked with Hasselhoff's character, Michael Knight, to crush crime and catch bad guys on the show which carried the tagline: "A young man set on revenge. His partner... an indestructible car". KITT, or Knight Industry Two Thousand, was famous for witty repartee and offering Knight sober advice in a posh accent accompanied by sexy, red flashing lights. Fans eager to own a piece of TV history will be able to bid for the icon on the auction website eBay on Friday. It is estimated the car will fetch up to $US60,000 ($84,500). Although KITT's showbiz career never progressed past Knight Rider, Hasselhoff became a household name as lifesaver Mitch Buchanan in the hit series Baywatch. The bouffant-haired actor, who quit the series after ten years in 2000, has since followed the celebrity trend of starring in a West End show in London. For the next three months Hasselhoff will play the role of Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago giving him a chance to exercise his dazzling vocal abilities. 'The Hoff'' has released a string of albums over the years, including Looking For Freedom, and Night Rider and has a loyal fan base particularly in Germany and the former Soviet bloc states.

You know Moronatti's going to be all over this tomorrow bashing Sox fans again don't you. :headshake
-
Then Garcia gets thrown out of the game, and we'll probably lose, it's not worth it.
-
It'll be Dr. Robotic next.
-
Nope, Hunter swung at the 1st pitch, probably knew it was coming if he didn't hit quickly.
-
He's going to Cooperstown.
-
Not Anderson, Sweeney or B-Mac I hope.
-
7 K's and only 2 ER's for B-Mac, another excellent start. Brice with 2 hits now up to .273 and Fields up to .252. The Warthogs Offense is really starting to produce now.

Agreed, I know Beastly is not liked by every1 around here because he's not the "sharpest pencil in the box" but at least he's enthuiastic and passionate about the team and wears his heart on his sleeve, and he's been doing a pretty good job seen he's been back. He hasn't stirred up trouble when he's been provoked, and I respect him for that.

Baltimore have been offering Roberts and Jorge Julio around the league to try and get a quality starter. They missed out on Barry Zito earlier in the year.
-
Hands down the best one of this year for sure.

Absolutely, that's what I'm here for. Thomas Brice - Definitely my fav minor leaguer, really good to see him hitting better in Winstom Salem, he's had a really good year all round. Gio Gonzalez - A steal in the draft, and deserves a call - up to Kanny pronto. Ryan Sweeney - Impressed the heck out of me in spring training, and is finally starting to show his talent for the Warthogs. Jim Bullard and Jeff Bajenaru - Gotta giv some love to the minor leaguers here at SoxTalk. Baj has had a great year, deserved his callup to Charlotte. Once Bull ditched the sidearm, and became a starter again, he's really pitched well, one of the better starters down at B-Ham. Matt Nachreiner - My sleeper prospect down at Great Falls, I hope he can stay injury free for a few years, because he definitely has some really good stuff. Been relieving a lot and has an ERA of about 5, but he's pitched better lately after a rocky start.

"I am honoured to accept your waste." :dips***

I hope you had your SoxTalk gear on.

1) Finley won't waive his no - trade clause unless he plays in center. Why would we want to move Rowand who's been one of our best hitters in the last month? 2) Finley only wants to be dealt to a NL Team. 3) If we give up Borchard and Cotts for a 39 year old, that could really bite us in the ass in a few years. Even though Cotts had a bad game today, he's still #3 or a #4 starter in our rotation in the future.

Happy Happy B-Day!!!

From the Rocky Mountain News, Wilson has started to show he's healthy, but his recovery from surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee has kept him out of the limelight enough for teams to back off. The New York Yankees, who had been interested in a possible deal involving Kenny Lofton, have turned their attention to adding pitching help, and the New York Mets opted for Richard Hidalgo instead. A sleeper could be the Chicago White Sox, who need offense, considering Frank Thomas went on the disabled list, and aches and pains continue for Magglio Ordoñez. Ordoñez is a free agent at the end of the season, which could create room for the finances needed to acquire Wilson, who would fill the White Sox's need in center field.

Yeah he's fine, that's just Steff and Heads enjoying a nice walk.
