I seriously think we get sumthin done with the Mariners now. I dunno if the Yankees are goin to trade Contreas now, and that puts in in the front position to get Garcia. The Mets mite be done with all their trading after they acquired Hidalgo, and they don't want to trade Kazmir or David Wright.

Looks like he's Ozzie's type of SS. Plays excellent D, good arm, lots of range, a bit of speed. Could be our utility man next year, if Valentin doesn't come back and we hav Willie and Uribe startin in the infield.

If we are calling up someone I'm going to actually say Baj. He's probably the best option we hav to call up someone for the pen, besides Wunsch who's on the DL. Garry Majewski and Jose Santiago could also be options.

More news on Valdez, this was from April 26 this season. Two shortstops in the Pacific Coast League better known for their gloves were making early impressions at the plate. Granted, Marlins farmhand Wilson Valdez plays at hitter's haven Albuquerque, but his .321 start, including a .354 on-base percentage and six stolen bases, was cause for encouragement. He's also a pure defender with excellent range and a plus arm.

I'm thinkin Ozzie probably saw sumthin of Valdez while he was down in Florida, looked like he was the Marlins' top infield prospect and would have replaced Castillo or Alex Gonzalez.

Found this on Valdez from an old BA chat wrap earlier this season, Triple-A middle infielder Wilson Valdez would get the first in-house crack at replacing Castillo, although he has even less pop than Louie.

I'm thinkin probably half of his $6 mill contract we are paying. Hopefully this will open up some payroll room for us to acquire a Freddy Garcia or Steve Finley type of impact player.

I predicted the Marlins would be interested in Koch, due to their bullpen problems. They wanted Contreas, but he's 3-0 in his last 4 starts, and might actually stay with the Pinstripes. It'll be very interestin to see how he does with the Fishies.
