The way their amenic offence has been, if we can put some runs on the board, we should win this series quite easily. It'll be interestin to see how they come out without Koch though.
-
He'll be setting up for Benitez, is there's one place Billy Koch possibly can turn it around, it's probably in Florida.

If Munoz struggles, and we don't acquire another starter. he's our next 5th starter choice. You can book it.

Yankees "real close" to acquiring Freddy Garcia
DBAHO replied to redandwhite's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The M's want young position prospects real bad. I can't really see them taking Valdez, I still think Rauch and Rowand will end up being the deal for Garcia, throw in another prospect or 2 and go afta Pineiro. -
I think some team will overpay at about $4 to 5 mill for Jose, it all depends on who's available in the market this offseason. If Renteria and Cabrera are FA's, Jose will get less money.

Kent Brockman: "This just in, we have reports of a fight down at the Springfield Aquarium with a giant lizard. Do we hav a source on this? .... Hmm hmm, two drunken frat boys. A name would be nice, ....... I.P Freely..... Ewwww."

We could always bring back the avatar and siggy of the month as well, and even possibly bring back the hall of fame.

Let's see how my sleeper prospect for 2004 does , he hav really bad numbers last year though. Hopefully he can stay healthy and pitch some real good innings though.
-
The Warthogs need all the help they can get in the rotation at the moment. If B-Mac keeps pitching well down in Kanny, I think we'll prob see him up with W-S soon as well.

Lazy link clickers again hey Cheat.

Aren't you glad we're not in the NL then.
-
He is a perfect fit, too bad I think he'll end up in San Diego though. He only wants to play there or in Arizona, he's a 10/5 player, and the Padres wouldn't have to give up their leadoff man Sean Burrough either.
-
Good to see Timo producing now though, obviously his past experience for the Mets in the NL is only helping him in these interleague games. You can tell Harris and Uribe aren't comfortable hitting in places they haven't played much before in Florida etc. They weren't always goin to hit above .300 every week, but I think once we start playin AL teams again, they'll start hitting better, when we can put Paul and Frank in the lineup together for some protection.
-
And he doesn't complain about his role either, great guy to hav in the clubhouse. I wouldn't say hitting .275 is too bad at all.

Jose Valentin will cost more than $2 million to resign I can guarantee you that. Some team in desperate need for a SS (Chicago Cubs, San Francisco, Boston if Nomar leaves and Cincinatti) will overpay for him just due to the supply and demand of SS's around the league. I doubt he will take a pay cut of 60% of his salary, especially when he's having another good season. If Renteria gets locked up by the Cardinals and Cabrera by the Expos, then the SS market gets even weaker. Valdez looks like an Ozzie type of SS, doesn't matter if he can't hit well, so long as he plays excellent D and has a good arm. Lets see how he hits for the Knights 1st however bf any1 makes a judgement on him. He never hit too well before this year, and doesn't hav any pop at all in his bat, so be warned. He was hitting in a hitters park down in Alberquque as well. I'd luv to move Paul Konerko, I think every1 would, just because of the salary he is making. But they guy's having a pretty good year so far, with a good average. He still can't hit off righties too well, which is always goin to be a problem. If KW doesn't think Borch and Reed are ready to play in Chicago, then he should go out sign or trade for a lefty slugger like Steve Finley, J.D Drew, Sean Casey, Matt Lawton or Jay Gibbons with the money we'll be gettin from the new TV deal.
-
I probably would hav agreed with you there Brando before this acquistion of Valdez tonight. I think now Uribe and Harris will be the starting infield next season with Valdez as the new utility man which was the original role for Uribe. Borchard or Reed will be in our outfield next season which should give the lineup more of a lefty balance. We should use the money we would hav spent on resignin Jose, towards a quality starter like a Freddy Garcia.

I can definitely handle $2 mill. KW did a very nice job here I think, cut his losses with Koch.

This one's a classic.
