Joe Namath on Saturday Night Football
DBAHO replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Saw that yesterday, pretty damn funny. "I wanna kiss you Suzie!" She handled it very well though. -
I still hav my Nintendo 64 in my room, though I don't play it. Ok my fav gifts when I was a wee lad were probably a Car Racing Track set I got, Lego, and my PS2. This year for Christmas I am gettin a new MP3 head unit and speakers for my car.

I don't were hats too much really, it messes my hair up too much. But I got a Nike cap and an old Blackhawks cap as well, all though that ain't worth wearin.
-
Could be a sign that they mite move Jenkins, but Grieve will prob play in rite. Not a bad outfield that they got there now.

He made 1.45 mill this year. He'll get bout a 10% raise on that I'd think, so it'll be somewhere around the 2 mill mark.
-
Looks like Shoe will be one of the guys in our rotation come 2004. He'll prob make bout 2 mill in arbitration I'd think. Interestin decision by KW, he must think pretty highly of him. The general feeling around the boards was that Shoe leavin was a good thing.
-
More like Haslett escaping to Buffalo I think.
-
We need at least 1 starter mayb 2 from that list. Damien Moss is my 1st choice, and then mayb Jason Johnson or Orlando Hernandez, if we don't sign or trade for a big name pitcher e.g Ponson, Livan Hernandez
-
Don't look too good rite now BEGOOD. Broncos r winnin 28-14.
-
Well Redman's out of the question now. Moss, Johnson, Ponson, Livan Hernandez, Duroscher are all still possibilities. Anderson's an over achiever in my mind, Philly shipped him out for some reason. Baez I would go afta dependin on how much he wants, but he's like Dan Wright a bit, the dilemma is whether he's a starter or betta comin out of the bullpen.
-
The Michelle Branch Maxim pics already got posted on the Hot Chick Thread I think.
-
If that's the case, I think we should go afta Jayson Duroscher who was in their rotation last year. I think he's still pretty young, and KW mite be able to pull a good deal for him.
-
Just saw that game on SportsCenter, absolutely pulverised em. My friend down here still mite be goin to Indiana next year, it's too bad he ain't a Basketball playa.
-
I agree 100% with ya there YASNY. There always seem to be sum great discussions late on the boards with Pastime.
-
Only possible if the Sox move Konerko first. Plus there's the issue of money as well, I think Simon's gonna want ample money, and sum team mite overpay for him in this depressed market for 1B's.
-
Not much of a suprise really, saves us another 2 to 3 mill from our 59 million dollar payroll. So now we hav 3 definite starters in our rotation that is Buerhle, Loaiza and Jon Garland. We definitely need 1 starter in the free agent market that has pitched sucessfully in this level e.g Livan Hernandez, Sidney Ponson, and 1 otha starter that we need to take a chance on e.g Damien Moss, Tony Armas Jr. If Cotts isn't included in the Boston deal, he could still fill the #5 spot in our rotation if he has a great spring training like Josh Stewart did last year. Actually Stewart will be an interestin guy to watch in 2004 to see if he can make it back to the White Sox.

Looks like they ain't gonna be the Miami Marlins now, here's another oppurtunity to get some players hopefully now, MIAMI (AP) — The Florida Marlins' plans to build a new ballpark appear to be dead, The Sun-Sentinel reported Saturday. City officials said they can't donate land or money for the stadium and a proposed sales tax increase in Miami-Dade County to raise money for the project is having trouble gaining support. The World Series champion Marlins are trying to rally support to build a $325 million stadium. The cost would be $450 million without a donation of the land. "We really cannot find the moneys to come up with for the stadium, and the county's really reluctant to put the referendum for a half-cent sales tax on the ballot," Miami City Manager Joe Arriola was quoted as saying by the paper. "As far as the city is concerned, there's not going to be a deal ... this is over." Last month, Miami-Dade commissioners pledged $73 million in hotel bed and sports facilities taxes toward the project, if the Marlins would kick in $137 million and a full financing package was in place by March 15. The Marlins agreed and the city at first was expected to donate the land. But that still left a $115 million shortfall. City commissioners voted Thursday to ask the County Commission to put a referendum requesting a half-cent sales tax for 18 months on the March 9 ballot to raise at least $225 million for a stadium. City and county officials met Friday to discuss the proposal. County commissioners already intend to ask voters in November to approve a $1 billion public-works bond, so they were wary of asking taxpayers for more money, the paper reported. "The city doesn't really have a lot of options, in their view, on funding strategies for the land piece," County Manager George Burgess was quoted as saying. "The referendum, in their view, works better for them. "I suppose it's not impossible," Burgess said. "I think it's going to be tough." Arriola also argued the Marlins weren't putting enough cash in the project. Team spokesman Steve Copses did not return a telephone call Saturday seeking comment.
