s***. And he was a really damn good prospect too. Absolutely terrible news. RIP Nick.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) Go down to the wharf and just walk around as well. I'd sample the sourdough pizza and I recommend the crab melt sandwich at the franciscan overlooking the Rock. Just checked out the menu there and it looks pretty good. Will definitely check that place out for sure.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) When you go to San Fran you should check out Fort Worth. I'd rather go to Fort McHenry.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) Why are we kicking you out? 1 year visa about to expire unfortunately.

Alright, I know I've started enough of these "I'm going to such and such, and wanna know what to do there" threads over the past year, but well I finish work here next Thursday and have 1 month to travel around America before I get kicked out of the country, so I'm going to make the most of it. So if anyone has any advice on any of these places that I'll be going to, will be much appreciated. Nashville (gonna go to the Flying Saucer again Northsider). I've also heard that the Blue Bird Cafe is good, as is the Loveless Cafe but that's out of town a bit. Tampa Orlando Daytona Beach San Francisco Los Angeles Seattle I'm also going to Vegas and San Diego, but I've been to the later, and already have enough info on the former.

Sox game on WGN, w00t. Gavin's been in good form over Spring Training, let's hope he can carry that form into tonight.

Could all 5 Chicago teams make the playoffs?
DBAHO replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I don't think the Bears will win the NFC North (Vikings will), but I think they can still get a wildcard spot, unless the NFC South and NFC East is really good again this season. The Sox are the biggest wildcard. -
Here's a really stupid question. I need to send off my tax returns by tomorrow. I have all my documents in a large A4 size envelope. Am I able to put just 1 42c domestic stamp on it, and it'll get mailed to Austin, Texas, or do I need more than that?

Jose Guillen would be on my OF somewhere.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) The fact of the matter is, there are a bazillion better options than Dewayne Wise who can be had for a cheap return. Yep. I wonder how long it'll be till KW will pull the trigger though. Considering we have 4 picks early on in the upcoming draft, KW shouldn't hesitate to move one of our better prospects not named Beckham or Poreda if the deal is right. -

QUOTE (TheHolyBovine @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 10:07 PM) I'll give you those numbers. However, both are average in the field and have absolutely no power. Sounds like Scotty Pods. Can't we do better? Willits can play all 3 OF spots, although he's probably fields a corner OF spot better than CF. He'd still be a solid upgrade on Wise though. Gregor Blanco meanwhile had a RZR of .918 in CF last season, and although his OPS sucks, he's a younger version of Pods with speed who can actually handle CF defensively. Dukes' causes way too much trouble in the clubhouse, and would probably cost more than the 2 above. -

QUOTE (TheHolyBovine @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) Neither Willits or Gregor add OBP OR power, which makes them sound similar to what we have already. Willits .391 OBP in 430 AB's in 2007 and Blanco's .366 OBP in 430 AB's in 2008 says otherwise. -

I'd rather change it to The Official "Please Acquire Reggie Willits or Gregor Blanco" Thread. -

4 scoreless innings of relief. I like our chances again this season if the bullpen can do what they did in the 1st half of last season. Off to the perfect start today on that regard. -

I'd let MB start the inning, but Richard or DJ should be warming up in the pen right now also. Any sign of trouble, get him out of there. -

A DP here would be nice. Or a groundout and forceout at home. -

I worry about A.J offensively this season. Think he could certainly regress a little. -

So long as Buehrle keeps getting out of those jams, he's doing his job so far. Interesting to see that Coop said today that he needs to get into better shape though in ST. -

Nice work by Getzy. Now at least move him over here, if you can't bring him in here CQ. -

Nice to get out of that jam right there. Mark's pitch count already at 61 after 3 though. -

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) Glad it's tied but damn the middle of our order is slow Yeah, but we're used to it. But it certainly needs a makeover come next season (Thome gone, and Konerko possibly also with Brandon Allen waiting in the wings). -
QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 10:00 AM) There are only 2 teams with enough pitching to win the A.L. Central - the White Sox and the Twins. The Tigers probably have the worst pitching in the entire American League. Cleveland and K.C. are awful 3-5. The White Sox will win the division. I think if anything, Cleveland need to be most concerned about Cliff Lee regressing. They also need for Carmona to bounce back to his 2007 form.
