3 or so months til the Tour De France, not the best timing;

I see that pineapple wasn't one of the options on there. I love me some pineapple. EDIT: And then I see that knightni didn't want any. That's not fair.

Interesting re-signing, considering that Floyd fell off a bit in the 2nd half of last season, and he still gave up over 30 HR's IIRC. But if he can put up what he did last season for the duration of his contract, it's a good deal for the Sox. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance of that happening though. I think at least Gavin has shown to be a very durable pitcher over his career so far.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 22, 2009 -> 12:06 PM) Yeah what's gotten into the Bobcats? Maybe Larry Brown was the right man for the job. The Boris Diaw trade proved to be a godsend for them. They're probably a .500 team next season, but they need to get a deeper bench (Augustine and Diop alone don't really cut it), but I like their frontcourt.

I think yesterday shows how important Sharp was to this team, in terms of his goalscoring ability. The Hawks definitely need him healthy and in form come playoff time.

Trenni Kusniarek's no Erin Andrews, but she's not bad. Thought it was fairly imformative, but nothing that you wouldn't know already. Both Mitch Williams and John Hart predicted we'd come 3rd in our division FWIW.

Now where does he hit in the lineup if he's indeed starting now?

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 20, 2009 -> 04:16 AM) MLS can be argued as a bad thing for multiple reasons, but saying it tarnishes the sport because the level of play is bad is not the reason. Yes, the play is bad. But how does that tarnish soccer? I don't see how MLS tarnishes soccer more than the s*** Irish Premier League, for example. I don't see why a lack of top tier quality makes it tarnish the sport. Realistically, the only way Soccer is going to grow in America is if 20 years from now there is enough talent in America for those players to stay home and not going to Europe. I think they should also start up a Champions League type of competition with South America, and the winner of that plays the winner of the European Champions League.

I'll get Murray to send down a cheese plate and Brett to bake some croutons for you. Happy Birthday!!!!!

Have the Dodgers vs. White Sox games so far been sellouts? Thinking of getting a ticket now possibly for the game on the 03/28, to save the trouble of missing out.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) A theory I heard and tend to believe is that there is a "law of physics" that won't allow the same person to occupy the same time/space. So, Ben didnt flash back because the 10 year old version of him is in 1977 on the island. So, that would mean a younger version of Sun is on the island as well. An interesting theory. I was going to say Pierre Chang's daughter, but that can't be right since we've seen her father before.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 12:59 AM) Bulls FINALLY won a road game tonight. On a side note, I saw this on facebook tonight with the caption reading "Vinny Del Negro's playbook" and found it quite funny: And the Thunder have beaten some pretty good teams lately also. Looks like it'll be them and the Bucks scrapping all the way to the end for that #8 spot.

I guess this shows that Locke is in the present also and not in the past.

She's acting royalty in the UK (sister of Joely and daughter of Vanessa Redgrave). Really sad story considering she was awake an hour after the fall, and then started feeling woozy and then went unconscious apparently, and Liam Neeson is one of my favourite actors too.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 19, 2009 -> 09:21 AM) That was a weak ending. I thought so too. Knew it was going to be Ben. I would have at least liked it to be Walt or someone, a plot twist that you wouldn't have seen coming. Young Ben was just too obvious. So now Christian is going back through time and not aging, just like Richard. I wonder if they are brothers or something, or directly related to Jacob somehow?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 07:37 PM) Don't think I didn't notice that you didn't ask me that He faded out from posting. Last I knew he played in one of the fantasy leagues, but that was the last thing I remember. That was a cool story for Brooks and the crew in PR. True story. I miss Neil, and hope his teaching is going well. That was one passionate dude. Yeah I played in his league for a couple of seasons (and won 2 out of 3 IIRC), before I drifted out of Fantasy Baseball.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 06:07 PM) Jabroni would easily have 100,000+ posts right now had he not been banned. And that is no exaggeration. His posts had posts. And whatever happened to CWSGUY406? He was a fine poster who vanished after 2007. Jabroni posted every single Rotoworld update that I could remember. Keith (CWSGUY406) posts more on SouthSideSox now I believe.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) Or just put Konerko, or even Allen himself, as a DH since Thome is all but gone after this season. I think it's possible the Sox could have Viciedo and Allen rotating at 1B/DH next season, if Fields proves he can play at 3B. Or Viciedo could play in a corner OF spot, so there's a lot of possibilities.

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) Gonzales also reporting Kelvin Jimenez was added to the cut list. Hmmm, I wonder if the Sox might try to put him through waivers and get him off the 40 man roster at all.
-
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) I don't see how you got that out of the situation. Viciendo is 20 years old and will be in AAA, outside of Jon Garland, I can't think of many 20 year olds we have seen on our AAA team. Fields is clearly playing well enough to earn the 3B spot, and splitting time and at-bats will do nothing for Viciendo's potential and progress. Brandon Allen going to AA instead of AAA actually surprised me the most. Me too. My guess is he'll finish the season in Charlotte though, and will make Konerko expendable in 2010 if the Sox can deal him.

QUOTE (Baines3 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 11:01 AM) The Spurs have major problems with Duncan's knee hurting and Ginobli out. Look for the Spurs to be bumped off in the first round of the playoffs. I have the Jazz and Lakers as the conference finalists in the West ATM. I don't think you can ever rule out the Spurs though.
-
Not a good time for Adam Russell to be having a bad spring training ATM.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 10:33 AM) Kevin Martin had no problem getting recognition when people figured out he could play. I barely knew who Salmons was when the trade was made, now I watch the guy play and wonder how nobody really noticed him They built the team around Martin though. And Sacramento always had a lot of swingmen. Salmons only really emerged last season IIRC. Salmons should be a Raptor right now also, but he rejected a trade there earlier on in the season.
-
QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 07:33 AM) How did Salmons slip under the radar so long? That guy can fill it up, and he is pretty efficient Playing in Sacramento will do that for you.

Refs cost us the game at the end last night. As if you're going to call a 3 second violation with 10 secs left. Bailout call for the Cavs.
