  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 09:41 AM) I can't believe someone managed to successfully register and join this site with the name "cubsruleyoulosers". That might have been before we HAD to validate a new user.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 09:34 AM) Pierzynski 12... lol I know him via a few different forums (and different screen names of course, his posting style is really easy to spot), he really is a waste of the Earth's resources. He was at the Hawks game I went to last Friday apparently. Weird.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) maybe with that crazy K rate, some team desperate for bullpen help picks him up for nothing I'm hoping Ed Wade soon remembers his love for average to mediocre middle relievers.
  4. It's all or nothing for Mike whenever he's on th mound (his wild pitch against the Yankees late last season to cost Richard a win still annoys the hell outta me to this day).
  5. If the Bulls can stop Rondo from penetrating in the paint, they have a good chance of winning. They need for Salmons to have a big defensive game on Pierce though.
  6. Cavs vs. Magic tonight. With KG getting healthy, and the Pistons locked into the #6 seed, the Magic really need to do what they can to get that #2 seed.
  7. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 01:36 PM) This team will NOT lose with Brian Anderson hitting 8th and playing CF 162 games this year. This team WILL lose with Owens/Wise batting lead-off for 100+ games this year. The Sox are looking to fill a need as a lead off hitter with Wise and Owens something Anderson can not do that is the only reason they are around and the sooner they are gone the better. Brian Anderson si the all around better baseball player than the other two who actually has some potential. Well on that; 1 - Do the Sox give the leadoff spot to Getz when from what I've read they want to ease him into it lower down the order? 2 - Do the Sox target a leadoff hitter outside of the organization e.g a Gregor Blanco?

    Spring Break

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 12:27 PM) Andrew, can you email me the details of your trip again. [email protected]. Just want to make sure I have the most up to date info. Will do.

    Spring Break

I get a 1 month Spring Break from Apr 16 onwards. Next week I'll be in Miami and Phoenix though for the Winter Music Conference and Spring Training. ATM, I have these trips planned for a month vacation; 1st week - Nashville, Tampa, Orlando and Daytona Beach 2nd week - Las Vegas 3rd week - California 4th week - California (until I have to go back to New York to get my bags, and then fly home to AUS).
  10. QUOTE (rangercal @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 09:33 AM) I'd have to say Cutler stacks up fine next to names like Ryan,Romo,Eli,Mcnabb,Warner. I'd take him over Eli right now that's for sure. Without Burress, Eli is nothing more than a mediocre to average QB.
  11. Detroit will probably definitely offer pick #20. The Bears are going to have to offer their 1st #18, and hope that a QB like Freeman is still on the board then, so that McDaniels can mould his guy. A QB like Cutler probably makes the Bears a playoff team though. Right now, I don't think they are.
  12. QUOTE (Wedge @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 10:47 AM) If Anderson could bring a Juan Uribe caliber bat to CF, I think I'd be happy. His numbers post ASB in 2008 were basically very similar to what Juan Uribe gave the Sox most of the time (not a good OBP, but a good SLG and an OPS around the .775 mark).
  13. It's already ruined the rest of the world then.
  14. I think I did a Vazquez and choked in the 6th or 7th inning. Feel absolutely HORRIFIC today though.
  15. I still think if the Sox could get a young guy like Gregor Blanco (who's in a competition for a CF job himself) for the right price, who is young and shown he can get on base at the major league level, they should definitely do that.
  16. Well me and Tony went to check out the game last night (great seats BTW Ian, thanks again). Thoughts; Huet was just awful. The 2nd goal, was just woeful, got fooled terribly by the deke from Huselius. Really needs to pick it up. The Hawks don't play well against teams that use the trapping defense e.g Minnesota and Columbus. Kane still doesn't look as good as he did earlier in the season. They had a few defensive breakdowns (Campbell!!!!!) which need addressing. Right now, I think Vancouver could definitely beat us in the 1st round if they don't improve.
  17. Wasn't he still going out with Kelly Kelly also?
  18. BA eneds to hit like he did today for the next 2 weeks if he wants to have any chance of being the CF this season. I agree with Dick that I think the best solution for a leadoff man could still be outside of this organization.
  19. Well I went up the "Big Willie" for the 1st time today. Pretty nice views I gotta say. Was a bit hazy out the south and north though, which made it hard to see Wrigley and the Cell.
  20. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 14, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) Tonight is going to be the battle of the countries in the World Drinking Classic! I will represent the American's, DBAHO will represent the Aussie's, my buddy Izzy will represent the Mexican's, and my other buddy Pat will represent all the s*** heads in the world. My guess is we will have DBAHO blackout drunk by 10:00pm. Yeah tonight could get messy, very messy. Nickelback were at the United Center last night also, and I've never heard a band get booed so much as the 10 secs they were on the big screen. Good times.
  21. Whatcha talkin bout Willis. I look forward to going up the "Willis Tower" if the weather's clear this weekend then.
  22. I went with everyone else. If BA can hit for as well as he did in the 2nd half of last season, he should start. The Sox need to hope that Jordan Danks turns into the long - term leadoff solution at CF though.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 11, 2009 -> 12:05 PM) That's not what I meant. They have these pitchers and hitters that, seemingly, come out of no where, then fizzle just as quickly. That's what Dave Duncan does to those pitchers. He's able to take no-name guys, and turn em into successful mid rotation starters, while a big name like Mulder floundered over there (albeit he was injured). The only SP who's had real success there recently over the past few seasons has been Chris Carpenter, but he missed most of last season as well.
  24. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Mar 11, 2009 -> 07:45 AM) I think the Cardinals would call Reyes a disappointment. And the Indians would be very happy with the trade that they made for him at this point.
  25. I got Burnout Paradise over the w/e, only to find out my graphics card needed a new driver to play and was still pretty laggy. Can't wait to get the Gateway P-7805FX from Best Buy before I go back home for my PC gaming needs.
