I think it's entirely possible/likely that you're right, and I lol'd to myself thinking about how absurd that is. So many great players available... and they prioritized Joe Kelly. It would be so White Sox for that to be true.

They need both, to be fair.

Multiple runners on, potential big inning brewing, and then they get stranded by Leury + Harrison. I'm sure we won't be seeing that happen a ton this season.

Yoan will be a top ~20 player in the AL again, yet 50% of game threads will have at least 1 page dedicated to debating whether he's good or if the Sox need to salary dump his contract

Can't complain about the Lynn trade, but being able to use Dunning to fill a need elsewhere on the roster would have been great. Maybe it ends up being Dunning & Walker + for Gallo instead of Lynn. It seems like the Sox & Rangers like making trades with each other.
