QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 08:33 AM) Stan Bowman was out watching Vesey yesterday. Swoop him in Stan! Vesey-Toews-Hossa Panarin-Anisomov-Kane Panik-Kruger Schmaltz Desjardins-Rasmussen-Hartman Tootoo, Mashinter Garbage first line.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 7, 2016 -> 10:28 AM) And if that fails, Rondo and Boogie are tight. I doubt the mutual second year option for Rondo is in the Bulls' future plans. I would expect that Rondo walks in order to make room for two max contracts

2 years, $47 million. It's "fine". Nothing special, as he's 35, but at least he didn't get that third year.

for those of you who lament Hawks stupidity...

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 6, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) Dan Bernstein disagrees with you. So does Fangraphs. They rank Hawk/Stoney the worst in the game. By contrast, Jason and Stoney are 19th. The difference is Hawk, as he is broadcast garbage. -
QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 02:51 PM) No doubt, I'm just personally over it as a fan. GSW can keep building up, and Lebron can keep playing in the East where he can take the last 15 games of the year off and cruise to the finals. Then the fun debates continue about whether Golden State is the best team of all time and whether Lebron is the GOAT. Yeah unfortunately that's the game until they harden the cap. I don't think that will ever happen, though. Remember, Michael Jordan made more money than certain playoff teams late in his career. We Bulls fans rode the soft cap for a good portion of MJ's career.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) The NBA is so lame now. Two all star teams and then everyone else, and all because players are purposely building them up for rings. I'm not hating on Durant for joining the Warriors or Lebron for starting this Superstar team-building idea. It just makes the NBA so blah... It feels that way, but those ESPN GSW games are going to break all kinds of records

I really don't care if the Bulls are being used for leverage. Make Miami overpay Wade.
-
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 08:30 PM) I want to believe the Bulls have a chance at Russ but I know they don't. They never land a big fish. They don't land big fish, but in this league they have to try.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) Durant went full blown BETA. He's a sackless b****. And the thing for me is I still think Cleveland is the favorite. Durant always shrinks when LeBron is the opponent, regular season or finals. Durant is another piece for Cleveland to have to account for, but he's the single biggest piece. Anything is possible, but the Warriors are going to be far and away favorites this season.
-
QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 11:48 AM) Lebron's decision also paved the way for a decision like this. He was the best player in the world (Durant is not) joining two other top 10 players at the time (1 of which had a ring). That was the first time that really happened. Yeah, but he didn't join a team that had JUST won a ring. The Heat had three assets when LeBron signed. This GS team was already the championship favorite with or without Durant. This is much worse than "the decision".
-
QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Jul 3, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) Chris Sale and Tim Anderson Not even close to enough sample size.
-
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 11:17 AM) People apparently have short memories... Situationally, this is much more damaging than "the decision". The good news is, it's a one year deal with a player option and the Warriors will have to find $35 million in cap space to re sign him after this season.
-
Yet again, the NBA disappoints.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 3, 2016 -> 01:50 PM) "You're never as good as you look when you're playing your best and you're never as bad as you look when you're playing your worst". That is true, but timing is also everything. All that really matters is that you're not "at your worst" come playoff time.

I don't love Rondo but this was a really good deal
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 2, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) The Bulls do have to spend about $17 million to reach the salary floor. I think they'd like Rondo on a 1-2 year deal but he obviously wants more years. Bulls will be adding players. No idea who and I'd be willing to bet it's on the short term side. I'd be totally willing to be bad this season if it meant not taking any mega-bad contracts. So far, we have escaped any stupidity.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 11:55 PM) Wade does nothing for the bulls long-term. Of course it doesn't. If he came on a one year deal, though it couldn't hurt.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 07:49 PM) Gage money. I read somewhere that dollar amount is on par with what Manning made in his entire career in Indy/Denver.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 01:12 PM) FWIW, whoever said that when FA started we'd be looking at Lopez's deal a lot more positively, you were completely right and I apologize for doubting you. I don't know what I expected when the Cap exploded, but about two weeks ago it became reasonably clear that the NBA would become crazy town.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 10:59 AM) Campbell, Staal, and Vanek and I'll be a happy camper. Staal to the Red Wings
-
As much as I want this free agency to be exciting, the teams that are winning this FA are the ones who do nothing or make Lin-type deals.
-
QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 08:32 PM) HE WALKED!!!!! This is as exciting as R + L = J finally being confirmed. Or Wreck-It Ralph 2! But seriously, he continues to impress.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 12:42 PM) Oh good, this thread again. Should hold us over until one of the coaches or a front office member calls out fan attendance.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 10:29 AM) There's a chance that the return the A's got for Samardzija ends up better than the return the Cubs got for Samardzija. That's pretty crazy. It's also pretty wrong. Russell is younger and has a higher ceiling.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 07:57 AM) As much as I love Quintana, he may be the trade chip we need to sell. Team like Boston oozing with young talent is definitely a match. It sucks, but I agree. I would put him on the block and see what teams might offer.
