  1. Pretty sure even if the Cubs make it through the stacked NL playoffs, they will get killed by the AL winner.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) They are celebrating 1985 today because Buddy Ryan died. If they had won 5 Super Bowls since, they would be all 1985 today. Yes, but it's just so tired and pathetic now because it has been going on for years.
  3. I'm really interested to see how the next CBA will affect some of the Blackhawks' long term contracts. The NHL is struggling financially and it's looking more and more likely that players are going to have to take a haircut.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) No, I just found it funny that you are decrying fanboyism while parroting Bernstein Thinking Hub Arkush cries every time he says something positive about the Bears is fanboyism. Agreeing with radio hosts that the 85 Bears are old news and the excessive celebration of that team is a product of a terrible organization is just common sense. Dan Bernstein isn't particularly intelligent, but he's on the money on this.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) Hey look, someone else is listening to Bernstein too Did he say something wrong? Pretty sure he didn't. Both networks are unlistenable today with the 85 Bears talk.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 05:53 PM) Hub Arkush who probably pukes anytime he gives the Bears a compliment, says they have gone from the worst inside LBs in the league to the best. Fanboyism at its finest. You don't have to like Hub, but he's very intelligent when it comes to the NFL. It's too bad, by the way, that Chicago has milked the crap out of the 1985 Bears for 30 years, because it's such a sad day for the Bears organization, but the general feeling about the 85 Bears stories is exhaustion. It's all been so overdone now. And it's still embarrassing the Bears have to celebrate a Super Bowl from three decades ago.
  7. B. Not quite the upper echelon we all dreamed of, but a serviceable piece with room to improve. Can't give him an A compared to other rookies out there.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) Great for Shawzie. Almost making as much as his buddy Bicks. He's got his 2 cup rings, might as well get yourself set for life. Not bad for a 5th round pick passed over twice. It's amazing what a 3rd or 4th line talent can make.
  9. It's seems like every year there's a new anomaly in this organization.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) It's a drop from a Gas Money episode a couple years ago. B&B played it a lot. The Gas Money Bob twitter account is pretty funny. People b**** and moan about B&B all the time. Just don't listen to them if you don't like them. It's that easy.
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) Not to mention he has chronic foot problems as well. Of course, most big men do but his slowed him down even more when he had knee issues. Maybe he has magically been healed and he is giving teams a good medical to look at but I am sure not buying it. And I love Jo. The problems just add up. Plantar Fasciitis is a mess.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 02:36 PM) There is no way in hell that rumor is true. They couldnt possibly be that dumb to give a guy with one knee that kind of money. If true, that is terrible news for us. That would completely destroy the FA market. Every bum FA's price would skyrocket.
  13. Get ready for stupid summer if this crap is true
  14. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 07:17 AM) Yeah I like the Thunder as well but that's if Durant resigns. He will re-sign. He won't want a big deal until after the cap expands. Signing a long term deal with anyone right now is leaving a lot of cash on the table.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 01:32 PM) We're gonna see fringe starters get what Jimmy Butler got last off-season. Just because they have to fill their cap with something to get over the threshold. That's why getting Lopez wasn't a horrible deal. He'll be less expensive under the new cap.
  16. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 01:33 PM) No kidding Congrats to your Pens, by the way.
  17. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) Hawks out for blood He should probably be subject to some kind of disciplinary action for his comments. They are completely against what the White Sox and MLB want.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) isnt the cap about to take a huge leap? Yes. Cap worries have evaporated for a couple of years, for sure. That's why the Lopez contract just doesn't matter.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 23, 2016 -> 08:53 AM) Well, today could be very interesting for the Hawks. Kruger and/or Shaw could be on their way out. Please let it be Shaw. He just feels like an overpayment waiting to happen.
  20. If the Bulls can be really bad with Jimmy Butler, that would accelerate the rebuild quite a bit. Problem is, they might be middle of the pack bad which is the definition of basketball hell.
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 11:04 PM) Kane wins the Hart and Ted Lindsay to go along with his Art Ross. What a year for 88. Panarin wins the Calder. Too bad the Bulls stole the spotlight
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) Clearly Butler didn't put them int he top third or else they would have been in the top third last year. I don't understand the "they would have spent it on worse" Don't worry about them taking on long term crap contract for a short term crap contract, they are so inept they'd spend it even worse next year! No reason to complain. How many games did Jimmy play last year? Wasn't their worst stretch when Jimmy was injured?
  23. Glad to have Rose off the roster.
  24. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) Sadly, yep. Sox and Bulls will never be good with JR at the helm. s***ty owner hires s***ty people to run his teams who put a s***ty product on the field/court. Outside of lucking into MJ and a crazy run in 05, JR has been a garbage owner for decades. Can you blame an 83 year old man for not wanting to overhaul his basketball team? Yeah, JR hasn't been great in a while, but his current behavior is somewhat understandable.
  25. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 02:31 PM) I don't think he meant to Pittsburgh. I think he's just implying that they would have to trade Crawford to anyone. However, I wouldn't deal Crawford. They can't win with Darling. I doubt this trade happens, but if it does, I fear Kane will be involved. I said last offseason that the Hawks probably had enough, and this would give them a reason to get him out of town. I hope not; he is the best player in hockey right now. If Kane's not involved, I think the names to watch would be Panarin and Anisimov. The numbers on that are just insane. To add another $10 million player? We would have to lose one of the bigger contracts we had? Panarin and Anisimov wouldn't be enough to make it work, right? Pens aren't stupid enough to take a garbage contract like Seabrook or Hossa, are they? Kane to work out in Chicago at the request of the Blackhawks.
