The home broadcast is one of the bright spots of this season. Can't wait until Jason starts calling road games. The rest of the country is taking notice as well. I'm disappointed I missed Jason's national game. Jason will likely be calling a number of national games in the near future.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 10:02 AM) LOL Yes it does. I am pretty numb to the Bulls news. Last year was such a disaster that until management is gone I dont think I will have any confidence in them to consistently do the right thing no matter what happens. The fact that Gar was able to make a completely terrible hire in his buddy Fred without having an actual interview process of candidates (which would have given you a better hire) and still be the GM the next year is an absolute travesty. And he gave Fred FIVE f***ING YEARS. I'm inclined to agree. I don't have a huge problem with firing Thibs if his behavior caused problems within the organization, but to replace him with that without interviewing any other candidates and committing to a college coach for 5 years is insane.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) Look, I'm just trying to see how much the universe hates Gar. If the Universe gave Gar his face, it really, really hates him.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 09:57 PM) I don't see any issues with Subban. I'd take him in a second on the Hawks. This a league where Tyler Seguin and his insane contract was traded due to "personality issues"

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) And somehow Rose and Noah defy the impossible and become productive players again, with Rose becoming an All-Star. Pau also puts up All-Star numbers somewhere else. Because Gar angered the universe. There's nothing Rose can do in one year to really make this Gar decision look bad and any contract longer than 2 years for Noah is going to be a bad contract (most likely)
-
Hopefully the FO can avoid all the stupid contracts, but I get the feeling Gar is going to have an itchy trigger finger.

As SoxAce said, the Stamkos deal, which is $8.5 million per year would be approximately the equivalent of $10 million per in NY, LA, TOR, as Florida has no state income tax. Because of its financial struggles, the NHL is the one league where this REALLY matters. Every dollar counts.
-
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 03:13 PM) The NHL is drunk today. Stamkos also staying in TB for 8 years at $8.5 AAV. Makes the Toews/Kane contracts uglier. That's a heck of a contract for Tampa Bay.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) Bleacher Report @BleacherReport 1h1 hour ago 11-year-old LeBron James Jr. reportedly already has scholarship offers from Duke & Kentucky http://ble.ac/28JPTex Recruiting 11 year olds is icky, but it's LeBron James, Jr. Hopefully he grows into those skills..

QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 10:18 PM) I highly doubt no big free agents wanna come here with gar/pax in charge This year, I don't want any free agents to come here. I want room for two maxes next year.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 09:22 PM) Hahn hasn't done anything to deserve to keep his job honestly. Nobody is this organization has done anything to keep their jobs. Whether it be management, coaching, player development, or scouting, this club is behind in almost every category.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 10:08 PM) Somebody put he has cerebral palsy. Does he use a cane? I really respect him after reading his bio. Must be a special guy. I don't believe he does. But man, he's so refreshing. The home broadcast is so listenable. Makes me wish Hawk would just call it quits.

Yankees ditch TM for StubHub, no more printed tix
Bananarchy replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
Good. I'm tired of ticketmaster and their nonsense. I get Stubhub isn't a ton better, but I'm seriously tired of the extraneous fees on TM. -
Damn this Cubs team is a fun watch. Joe Maddon is playing Go when the rest of the league is playing checkers.
-
Pretty sure even if the Cubs make it through the stacked NL playoffs, they will get killed by the AL winner.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) They are celebrating 1985 today because Buddy Ryan died. If they had won 5 Super Bowls since, they would be all 1985 today. Yes, but it's just so tired and pathetic now because it has been going on for years.

I'm really interested to see how the next CBA will affect some of the Blackhawks' long term contracts. The NHL is struggling financially and it's looking more and more likely that players are going to have to take a haircut.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) No, I just found it funny that you are decrying fanboyism while parroting Bernstein Thinking Hub Arkush cries every time he says something positive about the Bears is fanboyism. Agreeing with radio hosts that the 85 Bears are old news and the excessive celebration of that team is a product of a terrible organization is just common sense. Dan Bernstein isn't particularly intelligent, but he's on the money on this.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) Hey look, someone else is listening to Bernstein too Did he say something wrong? Pretty sure he didn't. Both networks are unlistenable today with the 85 Bears talk.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 05:53 PM) Hub Arkush who probably pukes anytime he gives the Bears a compliment, says they have gone from the worst inside LBs in the league to the best. Fanboyism at its finest. You don't have to like Hub, but he's very intelligent when it comes to the NFL. It's too bad, by the way, that Chicago has milked the crap out of the 1985 Bears for 30 years, because it's such a sad day for the Bears organization, but the general feeling about the 85 Bears stories is exhaustion. It's all been so overdone now. And it's still embarrassing the Bears have to celebrate a Super Bowl from three decades ago.

B. Not quite the upper echelon we all dreamed of, but a serviceable piece with room to improve. Can't give him an A compared to other rookies out there.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) Great for Shawzie. Almost making as much as his buddy Bicks. He's got his 2 cup rings, might as well get yourself set for life. Not bad for a 5th round pick passed over twice. It's amazing what a 3rd or 4th line talent can make.

Of course Todd Frazier is hitting under .200
Bananarchy replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's seems like every year there's a new anomaly in this organization. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) It's a drop from a Gas Money episode a couple years ago. B&B played it a lot. The Gas Money Bob twitter account is pretty funny. People b**** and moan about B&B all the time. Just don't listen to them if you don't like them. It's that easy.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 24, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) Not to mention he has chronic foot problems as well. Of course, most big men do but his slowed him down even more when he had knee issues. Maybe he has magically been healed and he is giving teams a good medical to look at but I am sure not buying it. And I love Jo. The problems just add up. Plantar Fasciitis is a mess.
