  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 10, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) 30% on the year. It's getting a bit weird. I can't complain about the overall production, but putting a guy who's striking out 30% of the time in the 2 hole sounds like a bad idea. Are we talking about Avi or Lawrie?
  2. Maybe it's just that I'm used to the White Sox teams that can't defend, but I'm hesitant to do anything at 23-10.
  3. Everything about Pens-Caps I like I feel like I hate about the DAL-STL series. Dallas plays a fun style of hockey, but they do not match up well with the Blues and the Blues play the worst brand of hockey.
  4. Got the out. Runner advanced.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:28 PM) Oh come on Abreu That would have been an excellent play. He missed. Whatever.
  6. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) With your #3 and 4 hitters coming up. Get real dude we would've gotten an extra run this inning if he could. Inability to sacrifice bunt costs us a run. The 90s are over. The value of an out is better understood than ever.
  7. That's why you never bunt. Seriously.
  8. QUOTE (Scoots @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:14 PM) What are you kidding me? It's called sacrifice. Ever hear of a runner on 2nd with no one out and hitting a ball to the right side to advance the runner? You should NEVER generate an out. If Rollins would have bunted there, the inning is already over.
  9. QUOTE (Scoots @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:12 PM) Well, bunting is not generally pretty dumb. It can actually be extremely effective, when executed well. It's just that generally most situations don't call for players to bunt. When you are talking about the White Sox, yes bunting is generally pretty dumb because most of them can't really bunt. Bunting is giving away outs. You should never give away outs.
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) Unless you're a pitcher at the plate, you should pretty much never bunt. Agreed 900%. Maybe if you're trying to win in the bottom of the ninth and you have a runner on. I dunno, even then a single gets runners moving.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) Terrible...the lost art of sacrifice bunting, hard to do against a fastball pitcher. And Rollins was 5 for 9 against LHP this year. Oh, well. Bunting is mostly going away because bunting is generally pretty dumb.
  12. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) Ugh I hate bunting almost always, especially with 2 strikes. It's usually a bad baseball play.
  13. Is Robin calling for the bunt? Who bunts with two strikes?
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 9, 2016 -> 08:54 PM) Nats and Strasburg just agreed to a 7 year $175M extension. Wow ! Does that $175 million include the money for additional surgeries?
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 4, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) Then why the hell have we had MEN and WOMEN bathrooms forever? Why did we ever distinguish between the two?? Shouldn't we always have had just simple bathrooms for one sex? How come for years upon years we've distinguished between the two sexes for bathrooms? Last time I looked I look for the men's sign in a restaurant and sure enough one says Men the other Women. Efficiency.
  16. This White Sox defense thing... There's clearly a shot with the runner's foot short of the bag.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 9, 2016 -> 07:20 PM) How the hell did Beltre hit that? With his mad roid skillz
  18. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 9, 2016 -> 07:14 PM) What happened to Uber? I went there late August for a Bachelor party. Uber and Lyft to leave Austin after failed vote Basically, Uber and Lyft didn't want to meet city regulations. The city council gave in to lobbying from Uber and Lyft and had an election. Voters voted to force Uber and Lyft to regulate. Uber and Lyft spent $9 million to get the voters to support their method of background checks and circumvent the city government. Voters voted 56%-44% with the city so Uber and Lyft left this morning at 8 AM. They tried to hold the voters ransom and it backfired big time. There's a huge ridesharing vacuum which I feel is likely to be filled soon.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 9, 2016 -> 06:24 PM) DFW is boring as hell. Austin's way better, but I'm biased. It's pretty barren as a pro sports town, but there's a lot more cool and hip things to do in Austin. I love Austin...even though we don't have Uber or Lyft anymore Definitely visit. It's worth it. You can take a few days here and drive to San Antonio for a day.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 9, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) Whataburger Hopdoddy and Kreuz barbecue.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 9, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) Here's their game-by-game prediction. Don't know what their model actually is, but I'd imagine it's trying to take into account run differentials and some other stuff. http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-m...edictions/cubs/ I'm sure it has some built-in regression towards the mean.
  22. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ May 8, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) Child molesters are everywhere. This is no reason to hate college football because ONE time, some sick f*** decided to make a life out of it while every single one of his peers turned a blind eye The fanaticism around that school allowed child rape to continue unchecked. Now victims are being persecuted for their claims and being endlessly blamed. JoeBots have destroyed Penn State.
