  1. Hanging out with KW at Stanford reunions?
  2. The exception to the rule is a weak argument. A.J. Hinch is a more common outcome.
  3. Hawk: Talking about BS mental preparation as being a key to winning. Of course talent has nothing to do with it.
  4. Danks is trash. Homeless man's Greg Hibbard.
  5. Without data, I'm not buying it.
  6. Sure. But those guys are more rare, at least according to the bell curve.
  7. You're right. There is a reason. I explained it in my previous post.
  8. He would have a chance to be an above-average offensive player at 3B...
  9. Having tall 1Bs has more to do with the classic profile of a power player at the corner, rather than any defensive necessity. Teams want power players at 1B, power players tend to be bigger guys, etc., etc. As a counterexample, Allen Craig is 6-2. Do you think his 3 inches on Dayan really means anything defensively? Probably not. Personally, I don't care where Dayan plays. He needs to hit better, or he won't be worth much either way.
  10. Don't worry. There will be a new excuse that appears when we are unable to trade him.
  11. Why can't we hire a statistically-inclined manager? You know, like just about every other team out there? Why do we have to hire an old has-been with no managing experience like some sort of semi-pro sideshow? Hiring RV was KW's one last chance to flip the bird to those who value analysis.
  12. Good. No offense to Wise, but any AB devoted to him from here on out would have been a wasted AB.
  13. Gregg Jefferies was also 5-11
  14. Nobody gives a s*** about your Royals.
  15. Maybe, but their lack of talent is the bigger problem.
  16. Again, who would want him? What would you expect him to bring in a trade? He's an average-at-best hitter with no defensive position... We're stuck with him for the foreseeable future, so let's hope he can show some improvement.
  17. With that logic, who on earth would want to trade for him?
  18. At least we are no longer forced to see a picture that shows the aftermath of PK's battle with Father Time.
  19. Very nice banner...though I wonder how it will change when Sale is traded in the off-season. ; )
  20. Absolutely. He's a number 5 being paid like a number 2.
  21. That's an organizational flaw that got us where we are today. That and not caring about the farm.
  22. Truth. Either that or the Bulls.
  23. Archie Bradley as a prospect is in a different galaxy from Garcia.
  24. Exactly. Hahn is a goddamned amateur.
