  1. Harry insisted an "Umpa Lumpa" song devoted to "Chicagos Wind Sock," Jay Mariotti, is close to release. Beautiful.
  2. I'm interested to see what the breakdown of years/millions will be. In the tradition of White Sox contract structuring, 27 million over 3 years doesn't average out to 9/yr. More like this: 5 million - 2005 10 million - 2006 12 million - 2007 This dealing burned us on Maggs, whose contract (signed in 2001) led into his 14 million salary of this year. If Garcia pitches well in his stinct with the Sox, his 2007 salary would become the starting ground to a new contract. Time would tell, and perhaps payroll will increase over the years, but would JR sign anything less than Cy Young for 12 million? Especially after Anaheim unloaded a 13 million/4 year deal in front of fat f*** Bartolo, and his 6.57 ERA. Of course this is all speculation and I could be proven wrong.

See, its threads such as these which appear logical (when drunk) and wasteful when sober. I'm f***ing ANNIHALATED right now, and before right now I never bothered to post while drunk. But since there's a special place devoted to people like myselft (and hi8is) I'll join in. BTW, I voted "peace, love, and whores"
  4. The quote posted from YASNY was taken from a Chicago Tribune article yesterday. Heres the thread in which the feud was discussed: http://www.soxtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=21576
  5. Two Cub trolls in one day? Perhaps our site is more popular then once believed. I thought WSI, with all its plugs on ESPN1000, would have this troll problem.
  6. If the White Sox don't salvage game three tomorrow I'm going into seclusion. This culmination of a Cubs series win, SWEEP at Wrigley, and media love will become too much to bare. I'm not implying doom or gloom, and there's no need to repeat the "Its a long season" rhetoric, but a loss tomorrow (to f***ing GLENDON RUSCH) is enough to jump off a ledge.
  7. Has anyone else ran across this problem? I just finished writing a long post, attempted to 'add reply', and was promptly kicked off line. This claim is true, as it's supported by a statement in the latter paragraphs of the column. "After the game, Harrelson said he and analyst Darrin Jackson saw Mariotti working alone in the press box while other writers were in the clubhouses. Why is Jay Mariotti alone? Could it be that the entire White Sox clubhouse has developed a strong dislike for Mariottis slanderous remarks, and refuse to grant him access? Jay continues to profess himself as 'being a fan of neither team', but insulting countless aspects of our team (from drunken fans to an obsolete ballmall) only shines the light on your true ambitions: Magnify every negative story from the Sox and expose it to the masses. Interesting recap of his previous insults. What the f*** gives Mariotti the right to label Hawk as "thorougly unprofessional" when he characterizes Hawk as "constipated?" No respected journalist would use these words within their column, unless they're writing for the National Inquirer; where Mariotti would likely fit in. Nice move, on Mariottis behalf. If Hawk were given air-time to confront Jay's comments, the audience would likely grasp how much of a biased, spine-less coward their host is. Behind a radio microphone, or in the confines of a press box are the locations to which Mariotti fights his battle. In his mind, he's far above anyone else; he rather take his usually pot shots without the risk of confrontation. He may concieve his columns as harmless, but to understate the power/influence the media attributes to public opinion is pure ignorance. When an idea (USCF; dangerous, Wrigley; beautiful) is written over...and over....and over.... those who are susceptible to media propoganda (Lets admit it: Several media outlets portrayal of everything White Sox are just that; propoganda) will soon believe what Mariotti writes as the truth. Quit writing bulls***, or (at the least) admit your personal vendetta towards the White Sox. That way, I can look past this 'impartial attitude' you hold yourself by and merely consider you a f***ing dips***; instead of a lying, f***ing dips***.
  8. Neither do I. Tomorrow has the formula to become a slug fest (for both sides.) As the get-up guy would say, LETS GO WHITE SOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXX :fthecubs
  9. Let me take predict how one particular member of the media will react: "[Wrigley Field] worst park in the majors. The clubhouse, the showers, the parking....all terrible". This is possibly the worst comment muttered since broadcaster Hawk Harrelsons numerous verbal ducksnorts. The Blizzard of Oz continues to perpetuate the inferioty complex which encompasses White Sox marketing, players, and fanbase. How could anyone who calls the 'Ballmall-Formely-Known-As-Comiskey' home decide which stadium is the worst? How dare anyone speak out against the beautiful, magestic, timeless Wrigley Field?" Other information to include within his article: -William Ligue, i.e: druken fans -Neigborhood conditions of USCF -Cheap shot a JR -Ignore Ozzies second sentence: "once you get on the field, though, it's great".
  10. Don't worry. You've added more insight to this message board in 36 posts than some have in 2,000. Most know post totals don't suggest any level of seniority. Everyone has to start somewhere; knighti fails to acknowledge that.
  11. Don't feed the beast. It was an obvious observation, no need to inflate Brandos ego.
  12. 4 home run this series for Beltran. Houston's bullpen looks to be on the verge of another precedented collapse. Two on, one out, Ramirez up in the 8th.
  13. Let Adkins continue his role as mop-up/stat padder extroadinaire when the division lead IS NOT at stake You're logic of leaving Adkins in to essentially witness whether or not he holds the lead is comedic. May I remind of you Jose Peniagua? No matter which role players the Twins have lost to free agency, the team has continually (against the Sox) stolen wins. While tomorrows game holds importance, it was absolutely essential of the Sox to guarantee their exit from Minnesota was in a tie for first. Shingo/Marte remove the unneccesary drama which is bound to follow the tail end of the bullpen. With today's win, the pressure is entirely on the shoulders Minnesota.
  14. No s***. Upcoming semester I'll be a sophomore at UIC. Best feature of the school: it's close proximity to The Cell. Ride Blue Line train to Jackson Terminal, and switch over to the Red Line. Less than 20 minutes and you're right outside the park. BTW, did you know Ozzie Guillens son will be attending UIC this year?
  15. Are they specifically ripping Mariotti for taking advantage of this incident to further his anti-Sox agenda? If so, Mariottis act isn't fooling anyone.
  16. You're right Cheat, there are 18 starts. I had to delete the post quickly before anyone quoted my idiocy. One idea reamins the same: 10-12 wins is what I expect from Garcia.
  17. I can assure you if Ortiz/Jones/Estrada are coming to the White Sox we're giving up more than Ordonez. We could be talking Ordonez/Rauch/Rowand/Several Prospects
  18. Signing Maggs to a long term deal has likely reached its final stages. Either Maggs excepts a contract extension (on our 'deferred payment' terms ), or KW will ship him to Atlanta. Does anyone invision Maggs finishing this year, in a White Sox uniform, without an extended contract? Beyond the All-Star break, will KW continue to regurgitate his comments about "Contract negotiations are on-going with Magglio?"

Jason, Welcome Aboard. I've read your posts over at the 'other site' for several months. What stood out is how often you've professed indifference towards the Cubs; frequently at the backlash of others. Numerous posters here (at Soxtalk) share your beliefs, and I'm positive you won't be ridiculed for them. BTW, fellow UIC student here.
  20. I am just as upset about Olivo. Because his name escaped the brunt of my post doesn't mean I have misplaced his value to our team. What crawls under my skin is browsing through several fan sites (mlb.com, rotoworld) and reading threads expressing the general sentiment KW vastly overpaid for Garcia. It scares me to believe what he's capable of. Other GM's must salivate when the phone rings and Williams in on the other line. ................. I'm done complaining about this trade (for now). I've given this trade time to sink in, and although I generally believed KW was fleeced I'm willing to move on. First step towards acceptance is singing Garcia to a long-term contract. Maybe then I'll begin to feel better about trading Reed/Olivo.
  21. Apparently KW has yet (even after the Todd Ritchie debacle) to learn the fine art of negotiating. He folds like a tent, wets the bed, collapses under pressure, any expression which describes KW's inability to work a fair deal is appropriate. Its just so damn irritating how every year "he goes for it" and every year he continues to deplete our minor leauge system. And for what? Since KW's reign began in 2000 he has yet to assemble a playoff caliber team. What happens when Sweeney/Andersen begin to hit their way up our minor league system? Are they prime bait in 2005 when KW desires to "win it all".......for the 5th year in a row.
  22. I despise these posters who bump old s***.
  23. There's no f***ing doubt Garcia will sign an extension. One of two scenarios: 1. KW overpays (which he undoubtably will; 50 million/5 years) 2. FG settles for a reasonable contract (28 million/4 years) Why do I believe KW will give Garcia his intended contract? Because he has no other choice. Does Williams risk playing hardball (a favorite of Reinsdorf), with the distinct possibility Garcia could return to Seattle next season? Williams would be f***ing chastised if Reed/Olivo/SS prospect were ultimately traded for a rent-a-player. If I'm Freddy's agent, I'm holding this possibily over KW's head, with one simple message: give my client what he desires or we'll walk. Through all the "what-if's" I'm fairly optimist: If Sox fans have endured one repugnant quality of KW throughout these years, its been his stubbornness. He will attempt to prove this deal worked out for our favor; long term deal for Garcia is giant step in that direction.

  25. We're in the big leagues now! I'm almost positive native Californians sleep through 4.5 magnitude earthquakes.
