Guillen finally realizes the Hunter-Burke moment coincided with our eventual downfall. So what you want about injuries, but not immediately retaliating deflated this teams confidence.

The sound quality this afternoon on FSN is terrible. The PA announcers in Anaheim and fans are droning out Hawk/DJ attempting to ignore our ass-whooping . Maybe it's better that way. I couldn't stomach another inning of those two harping about the implications of Questech.

It appeared so before Bears defense shut down the Lions in this last drive. 2:00 remaining in the game, down by 6, Detroit set to punt. Bears will win. -
Exactly my sentiments. Ozzie speaks his thoughts (inappropriate or not) and we should all come to expect it. Who gives a f*** what others think about Ozzie's quotes towards Buck Showalter? In other circumstances where Guillen personally calls out players I have more discretion, but this particular instance is not worthy of Ozzie bashing. If you don't feel that way, I understand, some fans expect more "class" from a manager of a major league ballclub.

f*** them. If atleast 8,000 White Sox fans show up and cheer on the Marlins I would anticipate a warm reception. It would be quite eerie witnessing fans cheering Josh Beckett on a 1-2 count, or giving someone a standing ovation following a HR. I'd love to read a glowing testimonial on the devotion of Chicago White Sox fans from an opposing team.

Game Day Chat...........................................yes. http://www.whitesoxcentral.com/chat.html

Over. Proceeding his second start Garcia will report arm stiffness and Ozzie will grudgingly accept the fact Sox are out of contention. In my mind I have a scenario played out where Garcia pitches 85 pitches tonight and 110 his next start. At that point Hawk will continue his quest as JR/KW mouthpiece and claim pitchers need to "Toughen up," while dismissing any blame towards Guillen for starting Garcia the remainder of a worthless season.
-
I'll continue to watch this team and support them as I've done for 19 years, but my mind wouldn't change with a one game swing. Sox need to be 4 1/2 games out at the start of the Minnesota series to give themselves a glimmer of hope. That way winning 2/3 in the dome sets them 3 1/2 back with 20 (?) games left. Even though the numbers may suggest its possible, I simply don't believe our team can pull it out. I'm not going to change you mind if you feel the season isn't over, or Garcia is worth chasing a pipe dream. Last season Soxtalk was engaged in the same discussion of "expecting the impossible" and our wishes weren't fulfilled. There's existed a precedent to Sox mediocrity and I don't expect it to change over the course of 30 days.

Why not? If it's not professional to concede the year now why would any team trade players mid-season? No team is mathematically uliminated near July. There's comes a point where you simply have to conceede a losing effort and look forward to next year. Starting Garcia this week is unneccessary and no good can come of it. Speaking of unprofessional, wouldn't you believe releasing Mike Jackson (this late in the season) was just that? This is baseball; not Ethics 101. Most fans have come to the realization this team lacks the talent/motivation to make a run and have accepted it. Now management does not need to hang a White Flag over The Cell, but atleast become considerate of the future. Valentin? Bench him. Alomar(s)? Bench them. Garcia? Sit him down. Give Valdez, Borchard, Harris frequent playing time and make an adequate decision and how they perform these last few weeks.

Boston's two best hitters aren't on the DL.

Is this Lawrence Holmes? Twins have already earned this division and Sox have already choked it away. I don't wan't Guillen to concern himself with nailing down every win from this point on. Example: Sox are leading by 2 runs in the 8th don't pencil in Marte and Shingo to close the game. Recently, Marte has been overused and I wish someone would smack Ozzie upside the head and remind him we're looking to compete next year.
-
If that's your only reason for holding out hope in this team then you'll be let down. I need more reassurance the Sox can make a run then "crazier things have happened." If Sox do somehow win 7/10 this roadtrip (preferably sweeping Minn) and close within 3 games of Minnesota I still wouldn't believe. They'll need to win 9/10 or sweep this entire roadtrip for myself to take notice. .
-
I hope Ozzie doesn't hold your enthusiasm and do something stupid such as a 4 man rotation. "I still bu-lieve that this team can pull it out. It's FAR from over." It's over. Sweep the Twins TWICE (and I'm sure Minnesota will set their rotation with Santana pitching in both series) and Sox are still 1.5 out. At that point Sox will choke and everyone will be satisfied because "they made a race out of it." See, at this point I've accepted defeat; that way I'm saving myself from heartbreak and praying this group of bums can put together a run.

Or as Hawk would put it: 'Downtown Jon Adkins' looked great. IMO, it just doesn't sound right calling some "Downtown" unless their name ends with Brown. But you know Hawk, none of that matters.
-
And Lee promptly grounds out. He's worthless with a runner on third, less than 2 outs.
-
What an ugly inning for Texas. Borchard scores on a throwing error from Chan Ho Park, Crede scores on a RBI groundout from Rowand. 4-2 Sox.

Phil Rogers: Rangers might ask for Garland
Flash Tizzle replied to Mr. Showtime's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Not anymore. Dumb bastard just doesn't give up. For someone with a tremendous knowledge of baseball Brando continues to expose himself as an idiot.. This has to be the 6th alias named banned from this guy. Here's a suggestion comrade: Find another f***ing site to post. All you had to do was honor your suspension last month and everything would have been fine. Instead you decided to flaunt rules, slap the administrators in the face, and create numerous covert identities. If it were up to me, only way I would allow him to post again is if he publically apologized to the entire Soxtalk community. That way his dignity is hurt and any time he acts like a moron the thread could be bumped. -

How do you figure? If that trade were to transpire, Sox would enter next season with 2 vacant spots within their starting rotation. Do you believe JR would spend the money for two quality starters? Likely not. Which means another year of 5th starter woes. If there's one question mark I'd look to avoid its the starting rotation. Harris/Uribe platoon at 2B is a satisfactory (cheap) combination for 2005. -
What you suggested doesn't make much sense. How would switching schedules have any effect on the issue? Why should any Chicago Public High School student listen to you when rappers and professional sports figures are making millions? Beastly, its rather simple to explain: some students/teachers don't care about their education. Repeating guidance counselor rhetoric and spouting inspirational ideas won't do s*** if no one is willing to listen.
-
I knew when the 1st base umpire called the grounder 'foul' it would cost the Sox. Shingo has exceeded career totals in innings pitched and Hawk/DJ have noticed him forecasting his changeup. It may be wise of Guillen to significantly limit his use the remainder of the season.
-
YES! Game ends when Bret Boone is tagged out at third. Look at him, crying like a little b****!
-
I guess it was too much to expect a Sox minor league pitcher to succeed in his first appearance. I'm not making any judgements on Baj (good or bad), just noticing the trend.
-
Bogan is not your typical highschool Beastly-son. Attendance for majority of these students is a problem, and completing homework is damn near impossible. Teachers just aren't going to care whether or not its done correctly. Heather, you can't dispute this....yet. You're still the bright eyed, fresh faced college graduate eager to teach. These kids will break your spirit soon enough. There will come a day when all you'll care about is collecting a paycheck.

I4E's requested anyone to provide evidence of another organization, besides Muslim Extremists, who commit a larger preportion of the worlds terrorism. You posted several examples, and I merely stated Al-Qeada overshadows any of those events. I never intended to draw a definite conclusion on Al-Qeada or its relationship to world terrorism. I don't have statistics available to prove my case other then what I view on TV. And I'm sure someone will state, "you can't believe everything you see on television!" I agree. Did Al-Qeada's (among other Muslim groups) hatred towards the United States begin following our occupation of Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War? Or as George Bush indicated, "they hate our freedoms and despise our free society?" Whatever you believe is the reason we're disliked, no one can refute the impact this Iraq War II will have on the next generation of terrorism. US may disrupt global terrorism for the next 5 years, but what happens after that? Will this "War of Terrorism" ever end?
