    DAMNIT!!!

Are you the Superintendant for Springfield Elementary?
  3. The excuse I'm starting to hear is that ND is trying to go with a West Coast offense and Carlyle Holiday is having trouble picking it up. I have to agree, ND=cubs. Both have no offense and what is supposed to be their strengths(pitching and defense) are overrated. I'm tired of seeing ND on every Saturday when there are plenty of other games on with better teams.
  4. Why should we go and give them a sellout when they aren't going to win the division anyway? Maybe if Bummer would change the future and let the Sox win, more people would go.
  5. If they did that, would people that go to less games because they can't get in the LD start going to more games? Or would the LD people go to more games because they can't get into the UD? Or would the same amount of people show up no matter what restrictions there were?
  6. Woo hoo. A plethora of tantricities in the upper tank.
  7. The poll was directed towards my personal opinion dumbass and you got it. If you need to walk around the concourse that bad instead of watching the game, then plan ahead and don't b**** to people who don't care if you feel mis-treated by others. You want us to feel sorry for you because you feel like a victim even though you aren't because you don't want to get LD seats. They are available, so don't give me the crap that you can't find them. You have been given a solution by HSC. If you don't want to use it, then just go away and shut up already. The park is empty all the time anyway, so nobody is going to any less games since it was put into effect.
  8. I voted no. I don't have season tickets and it wouldn't affect me. I don't walk the concourse anyway, so I don't care. If you want to walk the concourse, make plans ahead of time and by a LD ticket.
  9. Same here. Most of your posts are crap and I don't even respond to them. Just felt like slinging some s*** with you here though.
  10. You were? Well don't worry that your posts have about the same quality as romans. You can still hang out here even though you don't make quality posts, so don't worry too much about it. Should I get excited about next year, or is that one gonna end in failure too?
  11. Just think, if Colon would have won just 1/2 the games he lost, Sox would be in 1st. Just think, if the Twins played as well as they did last year, Twins would be in 1st place. Just think, if the game was played on paper, we would already know who won the division. Just think, if Bummer is wrong, he will still have an excuse why the Twins didn't win instead of giving the Sox some credit for winning it. Just think, if Bummer ever made it to a tailgate, he would know what we were eating before we did.
  12. Especially with that slider he throws. He is asking for elbow problems and now Borowski says he has a sore shoulder. Their starters are gonna have their arms fall off and the pen is just about shot. Dusty Baylor doesn't handle pitchers well at all.
  13. And who knows, maybe Jerry did this on purpose to Cotts. I would say it's pretty safe to say that Cotts probably won't have any nervousness pitching anywhere now. If Cotts pitched 5-6 innings and gave up 5 runs, we would be saying he did a pretty good job. And what actually happened was between him and Wright, they did that. We won the series and might have taught Cotts something that can only be taught by having him start in Yankee Stadium. Unfortunately, we lost a game, but maybe we will gain a quality pitcher or 2 out of it.

    ANNA K

Golf isn't boring. Especially if the beer girls look and dress like Anna.

    Dog training

Steff, I don't think you live too far from me and I would be willing to stop out and help you get started with the basics for training Ginger. Let me know and we can work something out.
  16. About time they got him his visa. Didn't they make a deal with him almost 2 weeks ago? They have been scouting him for the last couple of months and he supposedly has his fastball up around 94 again. If so, that would be a great addition to the pen.

    Dog training

It sure sounds like it. I would guess that you are, but without seeing the actions of the dog it's hard to say for sure. Since you have a small dog, it doesn't matter too much except when you try to train them with things they might not want to do. What you could try to do is make her submit and see what her reaction and actions are. Lay her on her side and have 1 hand over her head and the other over her back end and in a calm but firm voice, tell her to settle. She should just lay there until you praise her and tell her to get up. If she tries to get up or cover any part of you with her head or paws, she is still not convinced that you are the alpha. Usually, the biggest problem with people training dogs is that they don't want to make the dog submit and become the alpha. Our female dog still gives my wife a hard time and doesn't really consider her as an alpha even though she will sit, go to her room, and not go upstairs. She is not aggresive, so I don't worry about my wife doing submission exercises with her, but I make her do them with the Rott because when he gets bigger, he could become a problem.

    BP

Maybe they are trying to break his bat and maybe it gives him confidence seeing someone else serve up more homeruns than him.

    Dog training

A minute or less is more than enough time as long as they understand the correction. I know I threw quite a bit in here, but someone else already said something that makes a lot of sense. Be consistant with her. And make sure she understands that you are the dominant one and not her. Something the breeder told me was that it's hard for humans to understand how dogs think. He said that we want to treat them like a child and that doesn't work. A dog can love us and not respect us. In a dogs mind, we are just another part of their pack so we need to make sure it understands that we are the alpha. If Ginger doesn't see you as the alpha, she will never respect you or listen to you.

The shock collar will work, but if the timing is just a second off, the dog could interpret the correction incorrectly. There is no timing issue with the slap on the head because the dog is actually jumping into it and the dog will understand and learn very quick that jumping results in a slap to the head. Remember that a correction and a reward are 2 separate things in a dogs mind. A correction stops an action you don't want and a reward promotes and action you want. Keep in mind that if you reward the dog if they sit after jumping on people, the dog might interpret that they are supposed to jump on someone and then sit to be rewarded. So you need to correct the dog when jumping and tell them off. Don't use the sit command or down command because if you ever do train the dog, those are different commands. If you are going to use the leash, tell the dog down or sit when someone comes in and since you are standing on it and the dog can't jump, then reward her. If she does happen to jump, just correct her with no reward. Bring Ginger to the next tailgate or Coaches Time Out meating and we can work with her and break her of her jumping.

    Dog training

I doubt she will grow out of it. Bad news is she has to know what she is doing wrong when you correct her. If you use the shock collar and it isn't timed just right, you could actually make the dog afraid of going near people because she could interpret the shock from the collar as a correction for going towards people and not jumping on people. One thing that is working for our dog is a slap to the head with an open hand as he is jumping upward. I would not recommend stepping on the dogs paws when they jump or kneeing them in the chest. Some trainers and vets will tell you to do this and it does work, but you risk breaking bones in their paws and chest if you do it. Another thing to do is put her on a leash when people come in and stand on it so she can't jump up. The slap to the head will train most dogs in a matter of hours and doesn't hurt them if you do it right.
  22. Good thing you weren't a Hawks fan in the old Stadium. You would have really hated it there with all the yelling and swearing and it got real loud too. Plus all the fights if someone wore a jersey for the other team.
  23. I don't change for anybody. I talk to the players the whole game without swearing. I try to distract the visiting team and make them think about things they shouldn't be thinking about. I try to get the rest of the crowd around me into the game. I am the same person whether I'm sitting in the bleachers or next to the on deck circle. The ironic part about all of this is that other message boards were bashing the Sox fans for being so quiet at the All-Star game.
  24. So in your opinion, when is it ok for a fan to be loud and when is it disruptive? Based on what you are saying, Anaheim was way out of line last yr for giving out those thundersticks.
