I'm gonna hope that they can pickup a quality starter and they go on a tear the 2nd half just like they did in '83 and match the 99 wins.

Because Boras is an ass and his FA's cost too much.
-
Unfortunately, I think you're right Nuke. I thought I heard that Boras was Beltran's agent, but I was hoping somebody here could confirm that it isn't.
-
Does anybody know who Beltran's agent is?

But the church does have a place for, and protects, pedophiles.

Maybe if we're really lucky, all the teams except the Sox will have injuries and can only play AA or AAA players by September and October.

What I got from what Hawk said last night was that people think they know the game of baseball within the baseball world, but unless you played at the major league level, you don't know what major league baseball is. You can understand the game and know the rules and all that, but you can't know what it's like to be a major league player unless you were there.

I say prosecute the parents for their kids actions until the kid can be tried as an adult. If the parent had to do community service for something their kid did, they might pay more attention to what they are doing in school and even outside of school. Kids will see how far they can push things, and it's up to the parents to make sure there are consequences if they get caught doing something wrong.

I stopped reading this thread because the more I read, the more it sounds like communism and even how the nazis thought. Do we really want the government to decide on what our morals should be? All I know is that my morals don't tell me to invade one country that has resources I want to remove an evil dictator and turn my back on another because there is no interest for me there. But if those are the morals you want, let our politicians dictate them to you. And as far as ethics go, should Haliburton be the role model?
-
Ethics should be taught by the parents, not the school. You can have ethics policies as a company for employees to follow, but what makes your ethics better than mine on a personal level? I don't want my kids taught some ethics by a school district that can't even teach our kids math and science.

Didn't ABC also show the pictures and names of the victims from the WTC on the 1 year anniversary? I don't remember anybody complaining about that saying it was political.

I'm still pissed at Lee for swinging at the 1st pitch with the bases loaded the day before and popping up to 2nd.

That's the abbreviated word for something that you put on your weiner.

Was that who we saw running?
-
CW, you probably saw us walking that way and ran and hid. I'm used to that. Even my parents run and hide when they see me. They don't even admit to being my parents.

If you had oil in your yard, Bush would be concerned about you too. Look how much he is concerned about the people in Alaska?

That made my morning. I needed a good laugh today. Thanks SS2K4. I'll pack an extra beer for ya Tuesday.

Don't you just hate people that live in the past? Get over the name change already.

If the spam email gives a customer service email, I register that email address and the return address for the spam to everything I can think of. Newsgroups, the web page being promoted, etc. That way, the customer service gets tons of emails back.

SS2K4, I'll risk that terror attack with you. I'm not willing to give up any of my civil liberties at any cost. And if I wanted religious leaders to create the laws, I would have moved to Afghanistan when the Taliban were in control.

After getting all of Pope John Paul's luggage loaded into the limo (and he doesn't travel light), the driver notices that the Pope is still standing on the curb. "Excuse me, Your Eminence," says the driver, "Would you please take your seat so we can leave?" "Well, to tell you the truth," says the Pope, "they never let me drive at the Vatican, and I'd really like to drive today." "I'm sorry but I cannot let you do that. I'd lose my job! What if something should happen?" protests the driver, wishing he'd never gone to work that morning. "There might be something extra in it for you," says the Pope. Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the wheel. The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the airport, the Supreme Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 105 mph. "Please slow down, Your Holiness!!!" pleads the worried driver, but the Pope keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens. "Oh, my God, I'm gonna lose my license," moans the driver. The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches, but the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle, and gets on the radio. "I need to talk to the Chief," he says to the dispatcher. The Chief gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he's stopped a limo going a hundred and five. "So bust him," said the Chief. "I don't think we want to do that, he's really important," said the cop. The Chief then asked, "Who ya got there, the Mayor?" Cop: "Bigger" Chief: "Governor?" Cop: "Bigger" "Well, said the Chief, "Who is it?" Cop: "I think it's God!" Chief: "What makes you think it is God?" Cop: "He's got the Pope for a limo driver!"

But at least now we can hunt the terrorists wherever they might try to hide. You never know if one might sneak in while you're at work all day, but a search just might save your life and remove one more from the world. I feel safer already. I just hope the cops don't shoot me if I'm playing hide and seek with my kids and I startle the cops when I jump out of the closet or something. That would be bad, but it would be my fault I guess for putting myself in a position like that.

I would rather write my check at the end of the yr for my taxes instead of the feds withholding it from my paycheck. And I didn't see a cut in my taxes. I still payed the same percentage of my money as last yr to the feds.
