  1. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) I've seen the same threads over the past couple of days. Seems like with the Sox on a roll and getting ever closer to a division title things would be jumpin' around here. But with the exception of the game thread and "thats another White Sox winner" few new topics have been posted recently. I know the admins wanted to make it easier for people to start threads without having to be personally lambasted with the new policy , but it seems to have had the opposite effect. Is it just my imagination runnin' away with me or is Soxtalk on red alert and running scared when we should be in the most giddy and enthusiastic state ever ? when sox fans are happy, they're quiet.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) Alright, I got a question. I'd prefer to send cash instead of a check. Did anyone else do that or would have any tips on what to do. you don't have a debit card? and to answer your question, check around campus in the following days, i'm sure there'll be someone collecting. We had people outside the stadium before our game yesterday and they're also scheduled to be walking around our quad sometime this week.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) When I get a chance, I believe I'm gonna send 20 bucks to the Red Cross. I can't handle much more, being a college kid and all, but I gotta figure it helps. i did the same. every little bit helps
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) Point me to a post where people are saying this bodes well for the playoffs. How dare people be happy. Here's my thoughts on all this. Yes, we just swept this weekend series and yes it wasn't against a playoff calibur opponent. So yes, i agree that this doesn't make me feel like we're going to run the table in the playoffs. But what this series does do for me, is that it gives me confidence that this past month was just a down month for our team. We're showing signs of playing like we did in april and may and that's what i'm looking for. Sometimes, all it takes is a series like this for everything to start clickign again. This is the most solid white sox team we've seen in a long time. Enjoy it, and i sure as hell hope it brought some of your confidence in this team up, it definitely did for me.

  14. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) Of course our season didn't mean anything at this time last year, but game threads kind of died down like this in September of last year. I imagine it'll pick up again eventually with the playoffs around the corner. w/ the football seasons starting, interests are shared, instead of baseball being the only thing during the summer months. at least that's part of it for me

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 4, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) That's what I was thinking in the first place.... i gotta agree that you got a bad product. In the 1.5 years i've had my ipod, i had one problem where the battery became corrupted or something along those lines. I called apple and got a replacement within a week. Even with that incident, i'm extremely happy w/ my ipod.

......i love my ipod so, i'm not too sure what to say?
  17. There's this new show on VH1 that is just an absolute complete ripoff of the jack black movie "school of rock", they just made it a reality show. The show might be watchable if they actually were honest with themselves and used Jack black and just called it the school of rock.

I forgot how awesome a movie "the big lebowski" is always a quality watch
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) Our lead is comfortable enough I think that im actually rooting for the Indians a little to get 2 teams from the AL Central into the playoffs. And than could you imagine how pissed ESPN would be if both of us won our first rounds. until the magic number = 0 no way
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) I was going f***ing nuts just sitting in my room. RON f***ING ZOOK EB f***ING HALSEY you should have seen how much emotion zook had after the victory. He absolutely went nuts in front of us in block I. I'm still excited because of today's game, what a cool experience.

QUOTE(56789 @ Sep 3, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Outside of the store where i work, this group of women started a small drive to collect stuff for hurricane relief and it was 100 times better than they expected. People where coming in and buying hundreds of dollars worth of diapers, soap, water etc. for the people it was crazy .It was very nice to see.
