6/7/2026 - Sox @ Phils, rubber match, 12:35 pm CDT - Gilbert/Sandlin v. Nola
He was a really big dude, height and width. I always worried about this happening. I assumed it was a heart attack. Really sucks.

Breaking News: ron883 totally vindicated - Braden Montgomery gets called up
2-2 with 2 walks. The guy is going to be up here in a week or two.

Dang, he's got 4 doubles and 2 triples 6 games. Only 16 years old too. Off to one hell of a start.

I'm cautiously optimistic about our pitching staff. We've got a lot of pieces that can potentially improve it. Shane Smith potentially regaining his form from last year. Noah Schultz and Hagen Smith living up to their potential. Thorpe becoming a good #4 or #5 starter. Most probably won't happen, but the potential is there.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
Just be honest with us. You never moved to Chicago because it is too woke for you.

It's time for a new SoxTalk banner
Have you measured Fenway on Google Earth and compared it? Your measurements are off a bit too. They've got about 570' to the river wall. See below for Fenway. They'll definitely have enough room with a setup as Fenway, but in right field. I agree that it is a bit tight though. At a minimum you'd want a road on the west side of the field and a Riverwalk area on the east. Those two things complicate it. An extra 30' would be ideal.

Rikuu has a 0.050 ISO in his minor league career. That's really low. Are there examples of players with such a bad ISO performing well in the majors? Even Nick Madrigal had a 0.100 ISO in the minors. Juan Pierre had a 0.062 ISO, with a better batting average and slugging though. I just don't see him being any good.

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
I'm waiting to hear what PNoles says before I come to any conclusions

Don't scare us like this Jimmy. Do we really think there's a chance Tony still has any sway?

Would be awesome to finally get a young, international player to pan out and become a star. I feel like we never do well when signing the really young players (under 18) while other teams crush it. The FutureSox scouting report for him made me hopeful.

@Y2Jimmy0 is it officially time to get on the Sebastian Romero bandwagon? I'm sold simply from his 2 HR game.

Breaking News: ron883 totally vindicated - Braden Montgomery gets called up
It wouldn't shock me if they called him up for this next homestand. Rikuu doesn't really belong IMO. I totally get if they want to develop Braden more, but he's easily better than Rikuu at this point. He's got an absolute cannon too, which should be fun in RF. Does anybody know how his defense grades out in CF? He's played there more than RF so far in the minors. Braden time, baby.

Futuresox profile on Romero FutureSox2026 White Sox Affiliate Preview: Dominican Summer League...The Dominican Summer League affiliate of the White Sox will be comprised mostly of new international signees from the current signing period thatSebastián Romero is a 6-2, 175 pound outfielder who profiles in center field. The White Sox signed the Venezuelan for $1.5 million in January and he’s ranked as the #19 overall prospect in the system for MLB Pipeline. The 17-year-old made consistent contact as an amateur player and he needs to add strength. Romero has the potential to hit 15-20 homers annually though with solid speed and athleticism. Nice to see he's already got 2 home runs. I feel like these really young guys we sign (he's only 17) rarely show any power early on in the DSL. The guy evidently has some power.

Sebastian Romero with 2 HR in DSL. Big day. He was our big international signing recently. I believe we signed him for $1.2 mil.
