Unfortunately, it's probably going to happen at some point. I can't see pitchers wanting to wear a facemask while on the mount. Easier said than done I'm sure, but pitchers need to do a better job of ending their pitching motion in a position where they can protect themselves. The obvious example is Maddux. He is one of a kind, though.

This guy has gone from 1st, to RF, to LF, with some 3B and 2B in there. For a long time 1st baseman, his ability to adjust to LF THEN RF is astonishing. He may not be quick but he looks like a natural fielder. He's done absolutely everything you could ask him to do. It's a shame they couldn't extend him. Do you feel confident with him being the RF of the future now? Can Eloy-Robert-Vaughn work long term?

Reverse draft order is an awful idea for each and every sport. Imagine the Dodgers getting top 5 picks and more money to spend on the draft every year. They already kill it with lower draft positions. This would make it even worse. Teams with low budgets would mired in mediocrity forever, unless they absolutely hit on most of their draft picks.
