Dunn traded to Athletics for Nolan Sanburn
I had no idea Dunn has never played in a playoff game. Wow. Glad he finally gets to play in the playoffs. I hope he has a good playoff series and wins it all with the Athletics.

Dunn traded to Athletics for Nolan Sanburn
I love it. Hahn getting ridding of baggage for possible relievers. We need more bullpen candidates in our farm.

Dunn traded to Athletics for Nolan Sanburn
Hahn turning water into wine! Most likely some version of boxed wine, though.

The Adam Dunn Appreciation Thread
QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Aug 31, 2014 -> 10:00 AM) Clearly you people have issues following instructions., This thread is for NEGATIVITY only! This guy was horrible, and the Sox were too cheap to ditch him earlier. I have to admit though, I can see why people are wanting to be positive. I too am very happy this guy is about to be gone. I really want to be negative but the hate isn't spewing out, just joy over this guy finally getting the f*** off of this team and out of this city. Every day for this team is going to be a brighter one now. And Beckham's gone too. Phew. The quality of your posts are akin to Dunn's first year here

Better Future Core: Sox or Cubs?
soler has been a freaking monster since being called up.

8/28 Games
QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 09:52 PM) Another couple of strikeouts for Adams in the second, along with a single and a groundout. That sweet K:BB ratio keeps on truckin'. I'm surprised they didn't move him up... He is too good for AZL hitting. Should be at Kannapolis to see how he fares IMO.

Indians vs Sox
I want the Tigers to win it all this year. Even though they are division foe's, I don't have hate for them. I like a lot of their players and think they deserve it. They've gotten close a lot recently, but never took it home.

Better Future Core: Sox or Cubs?
QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 28, 2014 -> 07:04 PM) What would the Sox have to get in return from the Cubs to feel good about an Abreu trade? How about Chris Sale? Or even Jose Quintana? The Cubs could probably piece together the bullets for one (maybe two, if Quintana is the second), of those guys. I'm not even counting Eaton, Avi, Conor, Rodon, Tim Anderson or Marcus Semien yet. Rizzo and a prospect. That's one of those trades that neither team would do, though. Cubs wouldn't be willing to give up Rizzo and a good prospect.

Better Future Core: Sox or Cubs?
The homerism in this thread is ridiculous lmao.

Better Future Core: Sox or Cubs?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 10:21 PM) All of the Sox talent is cost controlled. The cubs have done an equally good job. Rizzo and Castro are very cheap.

Better Future Core: Sox or Cubs?
Did Rizzo die? People seem to forget he is a legit hitter who is in the majors... He is a legit lefty hitter. Close to the value Abreu brings while on a dirt cheap contract. Castro has a cheap contract. Another player being completely ignored is Arrieta. Soler, Baez, Bryant, Russell, Schwarber, Alcantara... Cubs talent is just filthy. They have tons of cost controller talent. Baez and Soler have low bust probably as far as prospects go. I expect at least one to be a star.

Better Future Core: Sox or Cubs?
QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 08:55 PM) Posed the same question to Jim Callis. He chose the Cubs. They have some guys who can be really special. We have at least 2 who ARE special. I've always believed one in the hand was worth two in the bush personally. Rizzo is pretty special. Lefty putting up those numbers is damn valuable. Kris Bryant is pretty much a can't miss prospect. Soler looks really freaking good. Addison Russel and Schwarber look like studs. Not to mention Castro and Baez... The team is freaking stacked with top tier talents. People need to take off their homer glasses.

People gotta quit sleeping on Marcus Semien
Nobody can stop talking about the Cubs rebuild now a days with Baez and Soler up. If Semien was on the Cubs, they would clamor about him as being a big piece in their minor league system probably. He is a perfect #2 hitter.

People gotta quit sleeping on Marcus Semien
I thought this thread was about Marcus?

People gotta quit sleeping on Marcus Semien
QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Aug 27, 2014 -> 07:40 AM) Since July 4th at AAA Charlotte, Semien has the following line in 50 games: .317 AVG .431 OBP .562 SLG .245 ISO .387 BABIP 225 PA 183 AB 58 H 35 BB 33 K 41 R 14 2B 2 3B 9 HR 33 RBI 6 SB 0 CS 4 HBP 3 SF That BABIP is pretty damn high, but it evens out his low BABIP from early in the season. The guy is an on base machine. A guy with that offensive makeup would be huge at 2b or shortstop if he can handle it

8/26 vs Indians
I'd rather see Michael Taylor in place of Viciedo. He has never gotten a long enough chance it seems.

8/26 Games
QUOTE (beautox @ Aug 26, 2014 -> 07:39 PM) make that 0 for 0 with 3BB now at 50 walks and 55 strikeouts on the year at AAA as a 23 year old in 78 games; just remember though his celing is just a utility player.... For real... This guy has an incredible eye. He has all star potential.
