Now that the Mariners are out for Viciedo. I think Houston makes the most sense for him. His defense wouldn't show as much with that short porch in LF, and his power would look pretty good there. I think a Viciedo, Nieto, Beck deal would net Castro. Thoughts?

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 05:15 PM) White Sox have meetings in next few days hoping to add backups for infield and outfield. (Money an issue.now ) https://twitter.com/MLBBruceLevine/status/544993636023562241 Please be Emilio Bonifacio.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 03:41 PM) I said in another thread that I miss Moises Sierra and got the response "said no one ever". Glad to see I'm not the only one. Moises makes the game fun. He knows he's a 4th outfielder, good defense, great arm, the bat could be there and he's a great clubhouse guy. Hahn I hope you read this board and bring back Moises!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) @Royals To make room for Kendrys Morales on the 40-man roster, the #Royals have DFA'd OF Moises Sierra. Pick him up!!! Designate Shuck. I love what he brings to the clubhouse. Plus, he's the only one that made Conor smile!

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 02:46 PM) Anyone else sporting a chubby? Fully. These guys look so damn good in White Sox uniforms. Great day guys, great day. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) Aka...Hahn informing other teams we don't have to trade Viciedo Scott Merkin @scottmerkin · 32m 32 minutes ago Hahn said there's still a role for Viciedo on the CWS but clearly less at-bats available.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) I'm guessing it's the ticket boosts and re-ups. Yeah I know, I should of put my words in green. I was just trying to be funny.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 11:20 AM) We might as well sign Scherzer. Don't tease me, but if Hahn pulled that off, he deserves the key to the city.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 11:13 AM) Yeah, it changes the spending perspective completely. I'd love to know how the phones are ringing right now in the Sox ticket office. I know they're going to be taking all of my money this season.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 11:14 AM) Doug Padilla @ESPNChiSox 10m10 minutes ago Rick Hahn says that because ticket sales were up after winter meetings moves, Reinsdorf gave approval for Cabrera contract. Goes without saying that the White Sox are headed above what they expected to spend on 2015 payroll. Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 12m12 minutes ago Hahn: '2 driving factors. Jerry giving us latitude to aggressively pursue Melky and response we've received from Sox fans so far' This just convinces me that Hahn reads this board lol. But in all seriousness, trade Viciedo and possibly Danks, sign Bonifacio and Beachy/Medlan and call it an off season.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 11:07 AM) Very interesting. Wonder if they spend anymore, because if they are already over projected payroll, why not keep going for it? I'm sure the Melky signing will help even more with sales. It'll be interesting to see what Hahn does, even when Hawk hints that he still thinks one or two moves will happen.

Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 2m2 minutes ago Good sales have given White Sox latitude and the ability to add Melky Cabrera, Rick Hahn said. Past original projected payroll. Wonder if there's more now with the Melky signing

He makes it 40 on the 40 man correct?

QUOTE (daggins @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 07:29 PM) There are some decent relief options floating around now, with Varvaro, Medlan, Wes Wright, and Casey Janssen all floating out there. I'd take just about any of them. Other than that, maybe Eric Young Jr to be 4th OF? He is fast and can defend all three OF positions. Those relievers you mentioned are all on my wish list. I'd love any one of them. No need for EY Jr. We have 3 4th OFs in Danks, Shuck and Campana already.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) Anyone think Emilio Bonfacio would be a good fit on the Sox? He can play almost anywhere. I've been advocating Bonifacio since the beginning of the off season. I would love him on this team.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 05:43 PM) melky passed his physical. deal official. presser likely tomorrow, perhaps combined with samardzija, too .#chisox https://twitter.com/JonHeymanCBS/status/544633701091790848 I really can't wait until this press conference tomorrow.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) Dayan's pull swing would actually play pretty well in the Juice Box with the Crawford Boxes being a short drive away. Plus his defense wouldn't be as exposed due to the short porch in left in Houston. How amazing would it be if Hahn pulled off Viciedo+ for Castro?

http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/v/varvaan01.shtml Chris Cotillo @ChrisCotillo 2m2 minutes ago #Braves likely will look to deal Anthony Varvaro very soon after designating him for assignment. Could be a good buy low candidate? He's 30 years old, but he's had some solid numbers the last 2 years.

Nester Molina has signed with the Red Sox.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 11:10 AM) Boston with 9-1. LMAO. Cubs have 12/1 odds with 4 proven players on their team lol

Official Squared Circle Thread

My thoughts on TLC Dolph vs Haper: By far the best match. It was simply amazing. Usos vs Mizdow: Dumb match. Dumb way to end a title match. Absolutely love Mizdow though. He's hilarious. Big Show vs. Rowan: Pointless. Cena vs Rollins: I really liked this match, plus I can't see Rollins win with his goon squad. Ryback vs Kane: Eh. Chairs match was the wrong type of match for these 2. Tables would of been better. Bella vs Lee: I want to marry Nikki Bella Rusev vs Swagger: I love Swagger for some reason lol and I really wanted to see him win, but this match was pointless. Rusev isn't even that good in the ring. Ambrose vs Wyatt: 2nd best match of the night. Absolutely loved that they made it the last match. I have a feeling with it being last and showing off their skills, this might propel both into title contention, -
Did the sox hit all of their offseason targets

You know what has me thinking, I don't know if its all that important, but I noticed that none of these deals are long enough that could hamper Sale and Quintana's next extensions in 5 years. Maybe besides Samardzija, pending an extension. So I think this is a great off season with moves that help us win now, but not alter the real key pieces of this team. -
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 03:36 PM) My original question was "Where does this money come from", and bucket replied "Corresponding roster move." That's why I think it might be John Danks. That's why I think its both Danks and Viciedo are going to be traded.
