  1. With Kopech, Hansen, Dunning, Guerrero, Adams, and Stephens on the horizon. I'm excited about the Sox future
  2. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 05:40 PM) LATEST: The #Orioles want to trade Manny Machado and will only not occur if Peter Angelos vetoes it. They won't trade directly with the Yankees and want confidence he doesn't end up on-traded there. Risky, and potentially messy. O's fans understandably nervous. https://twitter.com/DanClarkSports/status/941451749121912832 So, they want top prospects, won't let teams be given a 72 hour window to talk contract extension, and want teams not to trade him to the Yankees. Price goes down if it were me.
  3. QUOTE (Quin @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 05:11 PM) Wut No Kopech and no Giolito is my guess.
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 02:19 PM) Didn't Nightengale also tweet the day that we wouldn't flip him? He's all over the place... Nightengale did not say this. Richard Justice did.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 02:17 PM) Nightengale just brought up the rumor that the Sox might flip Machado to the Yankees. Definitely seems like a competitor purposely leaked that in hopes of giving the Orioles cost feet on dealing with us. He also specifically mentioned “the Sox claim their offer isn’t as strong as they’re making it out to be”. Came here to post this. I really don't think Sox offered Giolito or Kopech. Nightengale also said that he doesn't think Sox land Machado, thinks he goes to the Cardinals.
  6. QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) I'd absolutely love a deal with Toronto. Bichette ++ would be great. No chance we get Bichette ++ for Avi.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 14, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) When Nightengale says this stuff I typically blow it off, but when Rosenthal says it I listen. But...that just sounds sooo much like conjecture. Can't imagine sox leaking that about Anderson. Yeah, I definitely think the O's are pushing this in the media.
  8. Another thing Rosenthal said is that Machado would play SS and the Sox would move Anderson to CF.
  9. Watching MLBN now, Rosenthal just said that the Sox are most aggressive in their pursuit of Machado. Mentioned that Baltimore management is on their back home and will talk to ownership in the next 24-48 hours about Machado trade talks. Scary thing is that he said that the Sox have one of Giolito or Kopech, but not both.
  10. If I had to guess, I would say Rutherford and Adams for Machado if there was a deal
  11. I hope he isn't trolling us. Never know, could be about Abreu or Avi too.
  12. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 10:41 AM) https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2...GwVN/story.html Still talk of red Sox being interfered in abreu. They don't have a package I'd be interested in unless Benintendi or Devers is involved and that is not going to happen.
  13. I for one am extremely excited Ohtani and Stanton got resolved before the meetings. Should be an exciting week.
  14. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 7, 2017 -> 01:34 PM) Always take BPA but the Sox system desperately lacks athletes That's what we drafted before in Courtney Hawkins, Keenyn Walker, Jared Mitchell, look at how that has turned out. Not saying I don't want great athletes in the system, but give me the good baseball player who knows how to hit a ball very well and competent on defense.
  15. Jesse Sanchez @JesseSanchezMLB Source: Sergio Romo is scheduled to be activated by the Charros de Jalisco baseball team in Mexico this week. A group of teams that includes the Nationals, Rays, Blue Jays and White Sox have already expressed interest in the veteran reliever.
  16. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 6, 2017 -> 07:54 AM) What about an Abreu and Avi package to the Rockies? I'd assume they could get 4-5 prospects (not named Rodgers since Arenado and DJLM are free agents after next year) along with their 18 competitive balance pick. How about: Pint, Dahl or Tapia, McMahon, Senzatella, and Almonte (bring him back)? If we're trading both in the same package, Rodgers should be coming back
  17. Really hope the Giants get Stanton. Have the Cardinals miss out and maybe focus on Avi or Abreu.
  18. Pre-Winter Meetings Plan: Sign: RP Hector Rondon 1 year/3 million RP Bruce Rondon 1 year/2 million RP Xavier Cedeno 1 year/3 million RF Carlos Gonzalez 1 year/10 million Trades: I'm really conflicted on if the Sox are gonna make any trades. If they do trade Abreu, I think they should definitely trade Avi. If they trade Avi first, I want them to keep Abreu unless we get a Sale/Q type return for him. Patrick Saunders‏ #Rockies GM Jeff Bridich said today that restocking bullpen and finding a catcher are top priorities entering winter meetings. Finding corner bat possible, but not on front burner. Going off this, I think I would trade Avi or Abreu to the Rockies. I know the Rockies have had interest in Abreu in the past. My proposal to the Rockies is Avi for 1B/3B Ryan McMahon and RHP Peter Lambert. In this case, I would keep Abreu and try to extend him with a 4 year/70 million deal. Thoughts?
  19. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 4, 2017 -> 10:21 PM) Ya it was. There was a lot of good in ring stuff tonight. Happy to have the Broken one back as well, lets see if he can actually make Bray interesting. Overall, one of my favorite RAW shows in a while. Very well done last night.
  20. QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 3, 2017 -> 05:52 PM) Is he supposed to start the year in the minors, or be up on Opening Day? Whoever signs him I bet will pull the Kris Bryant treatment to get that extra year.
  21. Jon Morosi‏Verified account @jonmorosi 5m5 minutes ago More Sources: #Marlins have agreed to general framework of Giancarlo Stanton trades with both #STLCards and #SFGiants; the deals are on hold, while Marlins wait for Stanton to inform them whether he’d accept either trade. @MLB @MLBNetwork Jon Morosi‏Verified account @jonmorosi 4m4 minutes ago More For #Marlins, agreement on Stanton trade frameworks with #SFGiants and #STLCards was logical precondition for Stanton to meet officials from both clubs last week. @MLB @MLBNetwork on Morosi‏Verified account @jonmorosi 3m3 minutes ago More If Stanton had met with #SFGiants and #STLCards without trade framework already in existence, #Marlins would have risked losing leverage if Stanton agreed to move forward with one and not the other. @MLB @MLBNetwork Jon Morosi‏Verified account @jonmorosi 24s24 seconds ago More Worth saying again: Giancarlo Stanton is in control here, due to full no-trade. If he wants to wait on the #Dodgers, he can — even if that means saying no to everyone else this offseason and revisiting in July/August or next winter. @MLB @MLBNetwork
