That's an idea to ponder about Carlos hitting in the 2-hole. He responded well when asked to hit higher in the lineup last year, so I think he could very well take on the task.

One thing that we CANNOT do is deny Rowand playing time! He must be in there at least 1 game a week in order to keep up shape, if we want a good backup if we ever need it.

I say trade Jimenez for a reliever. It would make sense. Then Gary Glover could go to AAA. (If he has options left.) CWSOX45 That could be done. And I guess that Weaver COULD be a better #5 starter. But nothing more than that! He would be better than Wright. If we can get Wright to drink what Garland did after his slow start, we may not even need help in our starting rotation.

If we were to, in fact, go after Alomar, I'm thinking about a trade along the lines of Rios, Jiminez, and a minor league prospect for Alomar. We'd cut some of the fat, add on a solid bat and defender, and become a better team overall.

Things are looking up for this team, and the month of July will be a VERY telling month for how things may pann out for this team. I'm liking our chances.
