QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) i REALLY LIKE HIM AFTER ONLY SEEING HIM ONCE BUT i AGREE THAT HE LOOKED LATE ON A GOOD FASTBALL. sorry left caps on That's understandable when you're not getting many plate appearances. The guy's aggressive, and the thing I like most about him is that he's not afraid to dare to get a leadoff bunt that actually works!

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) WCIU = The Fuzzy station....atleast they have decent sound though.. Comcast's sound thus far sucks ass. No kidding...Last night, I couldn't even hear the sound until about seven minutes into the ballgame! -
Iguchi adjusting well to American baseball...
BridgeportHeather replied to bjm676's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He might swing at everything, but at least he's making contact and seems to be adjusting fairly decently. I can't complain about what I've been seeing from Iggy thus far. -
Gameday! Seattle vs. ChiSox 4-15-05
BridgeportHeather replied to Capn12's topic in 2005 Season in Review
WCIU rules! Hopefully all Seattle bats but Ichiro are silenced this weekend. Going to the games on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and wanna see some great displays of ball (AND Shingo Time). Jon looked decent in his last outing, so hopefully that's a good omen for what's gonna come down tonight at Comiskey. Hawk said last night, IIRC, that Podsednik will be back tonight, and hopefully he will. Fearless prediction: Konerko will get at least one extra base hit. -
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) THanks. WHo do I tell her to contact for the voucher? Baseball coaches, staff administration, etc...I got mine from the baseball coach here.

Heather's Fearless Prediction: Duque goes at least 7.1 innings, fanning at least 10. -

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Wow even ESPN has us at #4. I for one am shocked and appalled. How are we supposed to fly under the radar if everyone is ranking us so high? Make a banner that has Dimitri Young's statement about the division being decided between Detroit and Cleveland, and hang it up on the ESPN studio set. Anyways, it's clearly obvious that the Sox have been playing among the most complete games thus far, so they deserve to be where they are...

NHL playoffs start tonight...
BridgeportHeather replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Hockey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything else ever created. I've been feeling a great emptiness since the beginning of October! The Bulls have done their part to minorly help; however, not having the Blackhawks, no matter how bad the suck, to follow has had me feeling depressed. Hopefully a new CBA will be reached very soon so that we can see Bell, Calder, Ruutu, McCarthy, Tbo, and co. playing once again...I don't think I'd be able to withstand another year without the greatest game ever put on the face of the planet. The young core of Blackhawks will make noise in a year or two, when they have been able to gel together enough. I can't wait to hear THE ROAR once again. -
QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 10:52 PM) ya ozunas really impressed me..i didnt get a chance to catch many ST games but obviously ozuna had a great spring with the bat but whats impressed me those most is his ability to get on with the bunt..very alex sanchezesq like.. kids got wheels and defines the term "small" or "smart" ball for our beloved sox!! keep it up boys 6-2 The greatest part of that is that Ozuna can keep the opposing pitcher guessing, which takes away from his ability to throw an effective pitch. This catching the opposing pitcher off guard could effect his composure for the rest of the inning as well, which, it kinda did tonight. SMART ball is working thus far, and I'm LOVING it!

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Great work by the pen tonight. Agreed. Retiring 10 of the 11 batters faced. Marte looked flat-out dominant out there in racking up strikeouts on all three batters he faced, and it was great to see Vizzie get the win. Major props goes to Contreras for not losing composure after allowing an early 3-0 Cleveland lead tho. To allow his team to come back and win this game displays much character on his part.

I was told that you have to have your school faculty ID present as you purchase your tickets at the ticket booth. The vice principal at my school has a stack of these vouchers, so I possibly might decide to go myself...

I am so glad we have depth everywhere. Ozuna seems to take Pods' place fairly well, so I don't think we're gonna miss a beat when it comes to putting together quality games for victories. It's nice to have total confidence in a team.

My aunt bought me my Frank Thomas batting practice jersey for my 8th grade graduation.

This is the second day in a row Stat Tracker isn't loading for me in my Yahoo fantasy baseball league, even though I have downloaded all of the necessary plug-ins. Is anyone else having troubles with Stat Tracker other than me? This is really getting on my nerves to no end!

Who is your fav active ex Sox player
BridgeportHeather replied to Winnin Ugly's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Carlos Lee. And it amazes me hearing from different sources that he was a cancer in this clubhouse before leaving. -
Ben Gordon will make either Indiana or Washington's lives a living hell.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 01:09 PM) I'm going to post this in here. What do you guys think if having a generic baseball only forum. I know the sports bar is where pretty much everything generic goes, but do you think it would be better to have a board soley dedicated to all non-White Sox baseball talk? If so we'll set one up. Tex suggested it and now we want to see what the members think. VERY good idea, Jas!

Heather's fearless prediction for the day: Twins players will go home having nightmares about Jermaine Dye in their heads... -
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) It's so nice to have speed this year. It's only time before Hawk begins saying "I LUV to watch Podsednik run!"

Your predictions for the 05 season
BridgeportHeather replied to Winnin Ugly's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) that would be nice Not as nice as 172-1! -
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) Exactly what I was thinking. That and reading Gardenhire's quote as well. Shouldn't Gardenhire be a little nervous considering the fact that Silva is gonna be out for over half the season, so they're gonna have to go with a "patch-up" 5th starter for a great deal of time?
-
QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) What's more impressive is the amount of opposing fans the Sox have played this well in front of. The dome was totally packed. I'm glad to see them handle the pressure so nicely. Well, the Sox kinda took the crowd out of each game (except for when the Twins tied it for just a short moment), so that was kind of a non-factor.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) White Sox starters are undefeated on the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's knock on wood there...But it certainly is awesome to have FIVE solid starters!!! -
They had to get in Sports Nite before the game, so there was no time for a pregame...It's normal when they're pressed for time.
