Not to leave Frank out of the equation when he DOES come back...

QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) I couldn't even tell you. They still do the thing on the big screen with the history of the Sox players but then after that they go into this really light piano music kind of thing. At least thats how I remember it. It is very gay. Is it Nancy Faust, or some commercial goup?

They don't do THUNDERSTRUCK anymore??? That's become part of the thread woven into Sox baseball!!! What do they do now?

Sox vs Tribe 4-7-2005 game thread.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) this a comcast game? Yes. Channel 37 here. And, because I've taken off the rest of the week at work due to strept throat, I'll be watching it. Fearless prediction: Konerko launches one again. -
Flubbs getting hammered!
BridgeportHeather replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
A few ScrUb fan co-workers were gloating about their 10-run victory a couple days ago, and I reminded them of the team they root for...Hopefully it sinks in before too long, because Cub fans are totally annoying, especially when they try to convince you that what they have is anything remotely good! I can't wait til we paste them in both series this year! -
Wilkerson hits for the cycle

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) He's so effing good. And (speaking of the Nationals) if Konerko leaves next year, I want Nick Johnson. Only problem is that he's injury prone, but I'd take him. I know you used the big "IF," but I don't see Konerko even coming close to leaving here. He'll sign before season's end...Tons of players aren't loyal, but Konerko IS! We won't have to worry about our 1B for a while...And that's something that's definitely a plus. -
My first job was back in 1998 at Portillo's. Getting free beef and cheddar croissants everytime I worked was MONEY!!! I took my entire first paycheck to buy my Tony Amonte white Blackhawks sweater. It was enjoyable at the time...

I love driving my Soxmobile; 2003 Saturn Ion 2. I'd highly suggest an Ion!

And That's a White Sox Winner!!!!!
BridgeportHeather replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hell yea! Tuning in to the TV in my classroom after dismissing my students last period, I was able to watch the last 3 innings of the game. Shingo looked pretty good, and from what I saw, Buehrle was his usual dominant self. Konerko and Rowand will be the team's offensive leaders, for sure (Konerko helped me out in fantasy points, as well). My gosh, did it take so long to get home from work today!!! It took me literally 25 minutes to get from the 31st St. Exit ramp to make my turn on Union!!! There must've been a packed house there today...Way to go, Sox fans! It was awesome seeing a bunch of Sox fans all around the neighborhood this afternoon!!! A great way to begin the season indeed. -
Just thought it would be great to see what games everyone's going to this month. I'm planning on walking to the Sunday game against Seattle, as well as the Monday night game against Minnesota. Possibly might close out the month by taking in a game against the Tigers and boo Magglio. So, 2 or 3 games this month for me. How about all of you? Would love to meet up if possible!

QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Apr 3, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) WOW, I'm lucky if I have 20-30$ on me . Is there a drug problem in the school? Yep. But it's becoming problematic among high schools all around the immediate proximity (Englewood, Morgan Park, and Gage Park are having problems too, not to mention other schools...).

Opening Day vs. Cleveland 4-4-05
BridgeportHeather replied to YoungstownIndians's topic in 2005 Season in Review
I'm gonna just put gamecast on my computer and put my students to work, as I usually do last period. -
QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Apr 3, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) How? I wrote this kid up for constant socialization during lecture time, as well as counting tons of money on his desk. He had to have at least 20-30 $20 bills total--I kid you not! I'm suspecting he was selling drugs earlier in the day either in the halls or the gym locker room. That's a common occurence.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 3, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) That is why I never got the pity party for Red Sox fans. They are more full of themselves than just about anybody. Their fans are just brutal. I'm hoping that a New England team does NOT win a championship for a while now...Winning 2 Super Bowls and a World Series in a 12-month span is enough for them.

How could I leave this out... I got the biggest jerk in my 5th period class suspended for the next 3 days. He cannot come back to school until his parents re-instate him!

Thanks to Indiana, the Bulls are now in possession of the coveted 4th spot for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. There still remains another head-to-head matchup with the Wizzards in DC, and I think that is the biggest game remaining for the rest of the season. All the Bulls have to do is get 1 more victory than Washington from this point on, and they will assure themselves of that home court advantage. It looks like the 4/5 matchup has all but been decided based on the current standings. The only ? is who will have the home court advantage. Let's keep it up, Bulls!!! *Another note: With the win, Indiana has now passed Cleveland in the standings (the virtual tie is broken, because the Pacers lead the season series 2-1). Wednesday's game in Indiana could very well decide who plays Boston and who plays Detroit.

Blackhawks Not Too Newsworthy
BridgeportHeather replied to ottawa_sox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
The Blackhawks are my favorite sports team, and I feel your pain...It's been a very sparse winter sportswise (I've literally felt like a piece of me was missing)...Thankfully, the Bulls have done a little to help that, but noone can fully make up for missing the Hawks!!! I blame most of this on Badenough, because of his constant turning down proposals from the owners that would've easily worked...What greed he has!!! Hopefully the NHLPA will get a new spokesman with more of a mind. -
Woo Woo appears homeless...I've always wondered how he can afford to go to so many games...

Opening Day vs. Cleveland 4-4-05
BridgeportHeather replied to YoungstownIndians's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Buehrle's been consistently great for ages now, and we have a great bullpen, so I'm not worried about how things will end up pitchingwise. The lineup is still suspect, but I hope they prove me wrong... Heather's fearless prediction: Mark Buehrle will pitch at least 6.2 innings and notch his first victory of the season. -
Well, SI picked the Twins to "hold off Indians" this year, so we'll see if the jinx continues... I'm very confident that the southsiders can get it done. But, the Sox did have hot and cold flashes during spring training, so we'll just have to see what happens.
