Yikes, Steff...How big IS Ginger, and will there be any more growth???

Does anyone know the terms to which Cotts signed? And, what's Honel's chances of playing in the bigs this summer? September call-up? Wait til next year???

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) I know MJK said Konerko is a dick. Let the soxtalk campaign to discredit begin Whoever would say that absolutely hasn't a clue that Konerko's one of the most fan-friendly, team-friendly players Chicago has seen in a while, or wishes to tarnish his image.
-
I rep the 312. Any other 312ers out there? It's one of the 2 Chicagoland area codes mentioned in the song, btw!
-
Just thought of this poll when I heard Ludacris' "Area Codes" today.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) Why will he get more rbi oppurtunities with podsednik and and an unproven hitter in the united states hitting in front of him? One word, qwerty...SPEED!

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) nice attitude and all but isnt worth prob 8-12 million he will get in a contract. horrible 2003 year and look at his road splits in 2004...... unless he hits consistently good on both road and home i have to say HE GAWN next year. Paul Konerko was one of the main reasons this team was able to muster the offense they DID last season without Frank and Maggs. His 41 HRs and 117 RBIs were more than I ever thought he'd produce for this ballclub. Just imagine the added RBIs he could get with Iggy and Podsednik hitting in front of him...

KENNY, TAKE NOTE OF THIS!!! I didn't think Paulie would ever amount to what he has for us, becoming "the man" in this organization back in his early years with us, but I'm sure glad he has proved me wrong. He is the type of player ALL ballplayers should model. Willing to take less to be loyal to his team, always taking one for the team, being a great leader, and comes through when he's needed. Paulie, yaw the greatest!!!

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Feb 28, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) Next year I hope we can field a much more balanced team. A team shouldn't HAVE to rely on two guys to produce in order to succeed. The way it looks right now, we are gonna be playing small ball and not suffer so much losing big bats. Still, God forbid if Paulie ever went down, would we have a chance? I think we'd be more ok than you'd think...Konerko's not gonna be our only power-hitter this year. I'd say that Rowand will make some noise (albiet not to Konerko's level, but he sure will make himself known), and it is my prediction that Frank is gonna revert back to his good days with this newfound, cheerful atmosphere in the clubhouse. I do feel Crede is in for a career year, and Jurassic and Dye will have some flashes of power. The lineup is very balanced, and I do feel it would be able to have a chance in that situation. -
That's not only $$$, but true. Kirk Hinrich looks like he could be our next John Paxon...ya never know!
-
I'll give Dye a .270 BA with 80-90 RBIs and 24 HR's. He'll have around 30 "Healthy Scratches," giving Jurassic some playing time in his place.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) Could be because Boston and NY are two of the biggest cities in America and reasonably close to each other? Boston isn't really one of the biggest cities in America. It barely cracks the Top 20 in America, coming in at #20. Even cities such as Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and Memphis are bigger than Boston. But, as for sports rivalries go, NOTHING tops Bears-Crappers.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) A wins a win but this was an ugly game. It would not have been as ugly had it not been for the refs...They were trying to give the game to Charlotte. Fortunately, our team prevailed in the end.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 26, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) I am now accepting donations towards a faster internet connection... 28.8 speed SUCKS! [email protected] Paypal me any denomination (just think, with the faster download speed, I'll be too busy watching funny movies to post crazy right wing hate speech) I have SBC Yahoo DSL, and it's flying at all times. When I purchased it for my apartment a couple months ago, they were running a promotion locking the cost at $19.99 a month. I'd call them to see if the promotion's still running if I were you. Their service is very good as well. When I've had problems, the service people over the phones have been quick to detecting the problem, and you're back online in no time. I'd give them an A for service.

It's time for the Bulls to reach a franchise-high five games over the break-even mark since the termination of the MJ Era. I think they will coast on to victory tonight, winning by double digits. Ben Gordon deserves big time consideration for the Rookie of the Year award, and Hinrich has had an outstanding Sophomore season. Curry's weight loss over the previous offseason has worked wonders on his playing level...I like how his offensive splurge complements Chandler's stingy defense and board work. The Bulls will win this one 110-89...Mark my words!

Adkins to start spring training opener
BridgeportHeather replied to HighHeat45's topic in Pale Hose Talk
In addition, this is a great move in that it allows Ozzie to test his longevity EARLY so that he knows what he has to work with immediately. I fully support starting the youngsters who most likely won't own a spot in the starting rotation in the first several games of the pre-season. -
Colts ranked top franchise for fans
BridgeportHeather replied to greasywheels121's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
How can the Bulls be ranked below the Devil Rays?????? -
I'd love nothing more than for Buehrle's spike imprints to be visible on Torii Hunter's face... When I looked at the rankings of players in my Yahoo fantasy baseball league, Hunter wasn't ranked very high, giving me the impression that they don't think he will be as good this year. After a few pretty outstanding clutch years against us, I think this will be the year for the good guys to break through and win those "big" games against the Hostess cakes.

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) Was wondering if any of the Soxtalk.com "peep-u-lation" would care to plan a weekend game where we can all meet and take over the outfield above the bullpen? Not sure who would be interested, but since I live in bport and have parking passes, I can help out with those for a few of you who don't. Of course this is probably something you all do every year, but I've never been a part of it, so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in such a thing. Of course, I'd be interested in doing something like that. I too live in Bridgeport (roughly 31st and Halsted), so I can just walk from my place, or drive really close and park on the street with my Bridgeport resident parking pass. I'd love to meet more than I have already met (Steff, who is flat-out cool, capn12, IlliniKrush, RedPinStripes, CubKilla, Mr.Showtime, to name a few...).

Update: NHL Dead...Again
BridgeportHeather replied to Mr. Showtime's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Hockey's the greatest sport ever invented, and if it were to ever die forever, I don't know what I'd do... As for the penalty shot deal, it could work for regular season games. By keeping the regulation ties, it would not bear too much significance...anything to get more fans. I'd also say that the obstruction penalties must go, since they do nothing but slow down the game, disallowing a nice flow. These Obstruction hooking and Obstruction holding penalties are out of hand. These latest breaking tidbits are things that excite me. If I can go to a Hawks game within the next few weeks, I will be overzealous! Go Hawks! -
The one thing I don't like about Firefox is that it disables various HTML properties, which means I can't see things such as blinking stuff and scrolling marquees.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) Bulls not on TV? Why is that? This is one of two games that aren't televised this season. The other is a road game against the Clippers next month.
-
Wasn't that Gordon or Deng who, in Chicago, with the Bulls already up by 8 in the closing seconds, decided to take a shot (and hit), instead of dribbling it out, accounting for the final points in a Chicago 10-point romp the other game against the T-Wolves this year? I think that could possibly be in the back of KG's mind. But I personally don't think that will do much in changing the outcome of this game. The Bulls are too good for the Wolves to put up much of a fight, especially since Minnesota's lost seven of their last eight games (they just lost to Utah a couple nights ago, a team the Bulls swept this year). I wouldn't be shocked for anything less than a double-digit win for the Bulls.

QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 03:36 AM) It's true, all we need is RPS to come back and all hell can break loose We'd of course need the SNR experience with Guido and JoeyBatters as well. Cameo apperances from the Des Plaines Police are optional!

I've noticed Google.com in the list of users online lately. Who the hell is Google.com???
