  1. I wish we had more games with the Mariners...We swept BOTH series at home and went 7-2 against them this year. Nasty!
  2. I wish we had more games against the M's...With a win today, we finish a perfect 6-0 at home against them and 7-2 against them this year. It's great to see them down as one of the worst teams in baseball after what they did to us in the playoffs in 2000.
  3. Anyone should look comfortable against the M's while they're in this state. How far did LTP's homer measure?
  4. It's weird not being on campus anymore, not hearing the fireworks go off each time ISU scored. But then again, I wouldn't EVER go back to college. There's just something about the word "alumni" that has a pretty ring... I heard that ISU beat St. Xavier this past Thursday in blow-out fashion, but I'm not expecting them to do anything against the Gophers, even with Boomer Grigsby, who WILL make the NFL somewhere next year. Oh well...My following of this team will be very minimal from now on, however, as I don't have the same passion for the Redbirds as I did during my days as a student as ISU. I guess it's kinda like my following for the Bolingbrook Raiders drastically dropped after graduating from high school. NFL > any college football game
  5. Daze HAS the needed size to be a force when it comes to grit; however, he doesn't use his size to his advantage. That's left me dumbfounded for a long time.
  6. I don't own the domain name to this site (Frank Porcelli does), but I am actively involved with the site as a full-site moderator over at the message board, as well as a part-time game reporter. This is clearly the greatest site to talk about the greatest thing in the world: Chicago Blackhawks Hockey. Blackhawkzone
  7. Well, I don't wanna go through all that work to capture the entire desktop screen, but this is what I use for wallpaper...Steve Larmer played for the Blackhawks when "The Roar" was still around. I've used this as my background for a long time now.
  8. Seriously if any of you have any Math questions, don't hesitate to ask me. I'm a math teacher at Bogan on Chicago's south side. I'll be giving my kids no more than 5-6 problems for homework a day. After they turn in their homework, I'll put the answers on the overhead with the work included for a couple minutes and then start the lecture. PM me if ya need math help...
  9. You can count me in on this. I did pretty well last year! Oh, and I beat you last year, Jas!!!
  10. Nope! The only game I'm going to during the rest of this season is the one on the 22nd against Minnesota, since it's teacher's night, giving all teachers 75% off tickets. We're trying to get a Bogan Block going. Hopefully the Sox will WIN that game...There has never been a season where I've gone winless (0-3 this year with all 3 losses being Garcia's only 3 in a Sox uniform).
  11. There's nothing wrong with Canada, I can say...Second greatest country in the world, indeed. I haven't been "getting up" for the Sox AT ALL over the past month! The last full game I've watched was a month ago when we were playing KC. It's kind of a weird feeling not caring about the outcome anymore. I'm just overspent on them and have too many other things on the mind to put any emotions aside for this team. Let's just hope everyone rests up during the offseason and doesn't CHOKE like they have the past four years!!!
  12. Which isn't much of any help at this present moment. May the Twins die next year and our Sox take what has rightfully been their's the past four years!!!
  13. This one's almost as bad as that one with the girl in a tub. Ewwwwww!!
  14. BTW, I miss JoeyBatters! "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaffffffffllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccc!!!!!!!!"
  15. I wonder who this "HeatherTheRedbird" girl is??? SNR will be missed.
  16. Things will get quite busy here. The Chicago Public Schools start next Tuesday, but this Thursday and Friday are teacher's institute days at Bogan. I'll be moving out probably this December at the very beginning of winter break (walking distance north of Comiskey). I'm getting stoked! Be sure you rep down there at ISU well without me, now.
  17. I don't want just a decent young arm, I want a STUD pitcher here. We need to get some big guns here to complement Buehrle and Garcia. A solid 1-2-3 at the top of your pitching rotation is VITAL to win a playoff spot, as well as a playoff series.
  18. As long as he's the #5 starter, I'm ok with him. Anything else, and I want him gone. If he works on not giving up the big inning, he will be a great pitcher. Hopefully he will work with Coop during the offseason.
  19. Hope the Cubs are stupid enough to pick him up. The guy was worse than 6-fingers Alfonseca! Just brutal. He brought absolutely nothing to the table here.
  20. There ya go...Proof positive that the pitching has just let us down time after time this year. I blame a lot of this on our lack of a 5th starter. They'd be MUCH better if we didn't have an "easy loss" every five days. Anywayz, I'm glad they aren't injured to the extent of Frank or Maggs.
  21. DBAH0's selection of being a mod was simply to make everyone be good. Really, congrats guys.
  22. This has to be the latest started game thread in Soxtalk history. Anyways, I haven't made a fearless prediction in a few days, so: Fearless prediction: Paul Konerko will homer tonight.
  23. Heather's Fearless Prediction: Rowand will get at least two RBIs. The Sox WILL win a series here, which will be a huge momentum-shifter. We can only wait and see how Minnesota does, because winning won't help if Minnesota doesn't lose (go Anaheim).
