NBC Sports predicts White Sox to win A.L. Central!
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) I don't think the Cubs are going to win their division but I don't htink it's a reach, as Cheat has mentioned plenty of times, the NL Central isn't very good. You're forgetting they have to face the mighty Austin Kearns 19 times...Muhahahaha!!!!! 93-69 for the Cubs??? C'mon!!! I'd seriously not be surprised if the Sox rivaled their 2000 record. Sox Pride is gonna take a stabbing vengance on the Twins this year. It is great to not have to worry about who will be the fifth starter, as we now have someon LEGIT down there. That was my biggest worry coming in to this offseason, and that has been dealt with.

Reggie Miller to retire at season's end
One of the best players never to win a title, much like Stockton.

music
Currently, my favorite song is "Before I Forget" done by SlipKnot. I also love "Trust" done by Megadeth and "Got the life" done by Korn. Other great bands include Disturbed, Velvet Revolver, and 3 Days Grace.

Scalped?!?!
QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Head wounds bleed and bleed. I couldn't imagine how much blood must have been spilled. I'm surprised she didn't DIE from that act since the head is the absolute worst place to lose blood. I'd imagine she was unconcious for quite a while. How sickening and crude to do that to any living being.

Batting 3rd
I'd like for Rowand to hit in the 3-spot with Konerko right behind him...Dye right ahead of Rowand. Rowand turned into the complete hitter we all dreamed of having last year.

Pitching rotation
QUOTE(El Piervizdyeiniguchansodnik @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) Heather Contreras, then? LOL, not quite...Though I do have to think of what I'm gonna have my name changed to since my guy's no longer here. Well, now my guy's Konerko.

Farnsworth to Tigers
QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) The Tiggers got Farnsworth,Man guys i hate too say this but there getting kinda of scary,I-ROD,Maggs,Gullen,Troy Persaval(sorry its spelled wrong),Urbina, now Farns and a young pitching staff. I dunno about that...Farnsie gave many Cub fans cardiac arrest this past year...He doesn't seem to have the same "stuff" he previously had...or he could just be getting lazy. Perhaps the later could be the problem.

Pitching rotation
QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) contreras was TERRIBLE in sept. until he can learn to use all his pitches, hes number 4. although i have more faith in garland than jose. Still didn't give me cardiac arrest like Garland did and was much better than their "hit-or-miss" fifth starters...I see a good season in the future for him.

Pitching rotation
It's clearly obvious that Buehrle and Garcia will be our top two pitchers (barring anything major that happens in spring training) and that Garland will bring up the rear at the fifth spot. But just what do you think of the positioning of Contreras and El Duque in our rotation? I think it could go either way, but due to ElDuque's previous physical setback, I'd say Contreras would have the upper-hand for now. It seems as though Contreras has turned it around since coming here. He is a different pitcher since he was instructed not to "tip" pitches. He seems very comfortable in his role. Not to knock Duque...I just don't think he'll bring as much to the table as Contreras will this season. This season, I have this premonition that Contreras will dazzle us.

Hi People...
I'm teaching all Algebra I, so around 90% of my students are Freshmen. The kids are for the most part well-behaved. I was having problems with my end-of-the-day double-period inclusion class; however, they've been excellent the past 4 days...no complaining here on that! Most of the faculty, staff, and students there are Sox fans too, which is always a plus. There are a few Cub fans as well, but they always get "snuffed out" by us. How's your linguistic studies been going?

Hi People...
Good evening, Sox fans. Checking out things here for the first time in quite a while, because I got rather sick of the bickering that goes around here (you know who you are, and you must grow up). I miss how this place used to be back in 2001! It seems like many of the good posters have been run off. As a few of you know, I started my full-time teaching career this academic year, and am heavily enjoying teaching at Bogan High School. In just about TWO WEEKS, I'll be completely moved in to my own apartment in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago, just 7 blocks northwest of Comiskey Park. Just 4 more months left til Comiskey Park opens up again...How are things going with you guys?

First Car
I still drive my 2003 Saturn Ion 2. It's got roughly 12,500 miles on it, most put on during my student teaching time. I love my Soxmobile.

Nuke's New Ride
If you do get a Monte Carlo, add an A in front of "Monte" and an an S after "Carlo" and have your license plate say "1045." I have a 2003 Saturn Ion 2 and am loving it.

Does anyone here think that Shingo's being here could help in trying to lure Ichiro here?

Diaz pitches with stones
Possibly. He was pitching against the offensively-challenged M's. Had he been as erratic as he has been in some of his starts this year, I would've been surprised...Good confidence booster nonetheless.
