  1. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) Sweet! That will buy a lot of sox tickets! No kidding!!! And not having to pay for parking again is gonna help big time as well...
  2. I was chosen to teach the math portion of the ACT Prep Course at Bogan and will be paid an extra $300 to do so, and it will be added to my next CPS paycheck. The course starts next Tuesday and meets three times in both of the next two weeks. Oh, and Opening Day is Monday, and it's gonna be awesome finally getting to know what it's like to live in the same neighborhood as the Sox play in!!! I can't wait to go to tons of games this year, as well as meeting up with a bunch of you who I have (and haven't) met!!!
  3. Considering that Boston isn't very strong, our division will produce the #2 seeded team. Detroit sure has been scuffling late, and we are on an NBA-best current 6-game winning streak. Hinrich's missed the last 4 games, and Deng's been burdoned by some injuries lately. Do you think the Bulls can rise above the Pisstons' woes, as well as the injuries to their two key guys and win the division considering they are sitting in 2nd place at this moment 4.5 games behind them. and that another head-to-head matchup between the two happens in just a couple weeks here in Chicago? Let's all remember that anything can happen, so this is not unable to happen.
  4. How one can deal with change often gives a good indication of their character. Those who can withstand adversity and difficult situations through change are those who will be successful through their element of change. It always helps to have mini-goals throughout the way just to help ease yourself into your new position. May I ask, how different is your new position?
  5. I was at the game tonight, and the Bulls were in control virtually the entire game. I wouldn't be shocked if they pull a 4-seed and get home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs if they can keep this up. It was nice to see Deng play even though the jumbotron said he was questionable for this game before the lineups were announced. He helped in Hinrich's absence, and hopefully that hammie won't be bad for too long. The ACC was pretty quiet the entire time, an attribute to great play (especially defense) by Chicago. AD's jam with about a minute left just poured salt on Toronto's wounds... It was beautiful walking back to the car tonight, though it's a friggen blizzard right now up here in Ontario...
  6. What a wonderful first professional away game for me to go to. The Bulls never lost control of this game and further solidified a playoff spot. I was at the Hockey Hall of Fame earlier on today, and then we ate at the Loose Moose and headed over to the Air Canada Centre to watch the Bulls hand it to the Raptors. Aside from a few moments here and there, the entire arena was quiet. I got a chuckle from one guy who sat in front of us who, when i yelled out "Don't mess with Chicago!" replied "The city of Chicago sucks!" Curry could've avoided foul trouble a bit more; however, he was fairly decent on the glass. It was great to see Deng out there even after they flashed his name on the Jumbotron screen as "doubtful" for the game. I wonder what happened to Hinrich that he missed the game, allthough I did see a sound-off interview with him prior to the game on the televisions at Loose Moose. It's gonna be great to see playoff basketball in Chicago this year, as a spot is constantly being further solidified. We might even get the 4th seed if we keep this up. Has anyone else been to the ACC? It seemed like a decent arena, though the sightlines at the edges and the top couple of rows suck (we didn't sit there though). It did feel heavily like a mall inside, like I wasn't even at a basketball game.
  7. I just finished a fascinating book called "Teaching from the deep end." It's about how teaching in urban areas differs so much from teaching in all other areas. Urban education as a whole is quite an intriguing topic. A great read for everyone interested in the education world.
  8. After going to Niagara Falls this afternoon, we decided to go over the border into Buffalo, NY, to eat genuine Buffalo wings. Talk about s***ty cities, Buffalo has to rank up there with Detroit as places who have no reason to possess a single ounce of civic pride! Even in broad daylight, which it was pretty sunny out today, the entire city looked very dingy, even the downtown area. The skyline is nothing to write home about at all! Hell, even Peoria, IL, could appear to be a more happening city than Buffalo is!!! Anyone else been to Buffalo, and what are your experiences?
  9. I've never had a cell phone.
  10. A+. I've given blood once, and that was for the 9/11 effort, where I lost consciousness halfway through the process and had to lay down for a while to re-gain it.
  11. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Are you sure about that? Yep, I'm sure about that! During my four years at ISU, I CONSTANTLY was feeling "empty" because I was in a wide open space...I hate wide open spaces. Congested areas are things I absolutely LOVE! That's just the person I am.
  12. Oh, I forgot about "Chain Reaction!" What an outstanding Keanu Reves film!
  13. You can always call the White Sox directly. They have the ability to sell ALL tickets rather than Ticketmaster's selected areas. There might be a seat or two down in the lower deck that isn't appearing available on Ticketmaster's website that actually haven't been sold yet.
  14. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Even the traffic? Nope! Don't mind it at all! I'd rather have it than no traffic living in the middle of nowhere.
  15. The Bulls were actually the ones who got the shorter end of most calls. It was poetic justice that they were able to beat Seattle Friday night to rise above it all. This time around, I don't care that Seattle's a better road team. The Bulls just won't lose to them at home. I predict at least a 6-7 point win for the boyz who play at 1901 W. Madison. And Hinrich and Gordon will be out to get them...
  16. This immediately makes Silvio Berlusconi a million times smarter than George Bush. There's no reason for him to be spending all of our resources on what's going on in Iraq...Now look at our gas prices skyrocket...I'm getting pissed!
  17. Nothing really...I love EVERYTHING that is Chicago (well, except for the ugly urinal on the north side).
  18. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) Worst trades of all time possibly? That goes to the Toronto Blue Jays for trading David Wells to us for Mike Sirotka. You can say all you want about how poorly Wells pitched for us, but when what you get in return doesn't even throw one pitch for you, you got yourself fleeced!
  19. I'll go with the Varsity team. Saying the 8th grade team will win is like saying that a high school team could beat a weak D-1 college team, which I don't see happening...
  20. My favorite has to be "My Best Friend's Wedding." It even has a couple of scenes shot at Comiskey Park!!! A tear-jerker, yet a classic!
  21. Hahahaha!!! How poetic is this...The Cubs won't be able to do anything without their two "worshiped stars." I wouldn't be surprised if either or both go down during the season as well. The Cubs won't finish any higher than 4th in their division. And they will be forever seeing visions of Austin Kearns in their heads...
  22. What a bad trade that ended up being...It's unfortunate that he had to suck so badly when he was here. Nothing will be written about him in baseball history books.
  23. QUOTE(soxman35 @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) bucks are going to win because the bulls suck more then the bucks And look at the STANDINGS!!!!!!! The Bulls will kick it in drive tomorrow night and cruise to victory, further solidifying a playoff spot.
