  1. I don't think he'll have to worry about those two if he can continue playing like he has...He has so much range out there it isn't funny...And it looks like he's learning to slow down when he reaches the warning track so he doesn't slam himself into the wall!!! This is going to be a great year for him.
  2. What could be going on in the mind of Joe Posnanski right about now???
  3. Ya know, Botch is a total hypocrite!!! He was trying to steal a win by pitching badly, but thank God Adkins got it instead...Botch doesn't deserve to be on the roster here...I bet someone like Bullard would do better than Botch even though he has zero ML experience! Bring out Shingo, bring out Marte...But leave Botch at home!!!
  4. Could be from any sport or any city... Mine happens to be all from Chicago. 1. Mark Bell (Chicago Blackhawks) 2. Brian Urlacher (Duh!) 3. Carlos Lee (Duh!)
  5. Not quite...But he could become my 3rd favorite Sox...Next to Carlos and Cotts, that is...
  6. The receeding hairline could be man-made...I'm gonna say female.

    Hello

Awww, Heads...I feel the love over here...But, I just finished my last lesson plan for student teaching tonight, which means I'm increasing the amount of time for 'other' stuff now!!! I hope all is going well in Heads world presently...
  8. Student teaching's almost done...Just got 13 more school days left...And then graduation's in 3 weeks from Saturday...Not quite outta the woods yet cuz I gotta still look for a teaching job for next academic term, but thanks, Tommy!!!
  9. Paulie's not only returning to his pre-2002 all star break figures, but he's surpassing them! What a start for someone most of us wanted to have traded to LA for Perez during this offseason!!! I have to admit I was one of those people, and will gladly eat my feet if it allows him to have a Soxessful season! Maggs is having the season of his career so far (I know it's early), but we can't let that overshadow what Konerko's doing here. Ozzie's got him believing in himself again, and that's contageous! Fearless prediction: Konerko WILL break the 100-RBI plateau this year, and Konerko WILL hit over 30 HRs.
  10. That makes me laugh just as much as when I heard Blackhawk coach Brian Sputter call Alexander Karpovtsev a "world-class defenseman!" Who's Botch kidding here???
  11. Now, don't tell me you're gonna continue backing the Botchaholic THIS year, are ya, Tommy???

    Hello

HEY, MISTER!!! Where is the "TheBigHurt" before "BeGood"????? I'm sure gonna miss calling ya TheBigHurtBeGood...
  13. Ozzie says that he's got a lot of faith in his players...But just how far should that faith go, especially when dealing with Billy Botch? He should really consider other options rather than allowing us to possibly snatch a loss from the jaws of a victory, like we almost did today. Botch has a BAD track record coming in from last season, and he hasn't looked the greatest in his latest outings...I think someone should tell Ozzie the TRUE story about Botch...He seems to be having TOO much faith in the guy.
  14. The thing I like most about Ozzie is his aggressiveness on the offensive side of the plate! He's gonna make other managers scurry for new ways to try to beat us, cuz they're never gonna know what Ozzie's gonna have up his sleeve. This newfound aggressiveness is gonna win us tons of ballgames here...I'm feeling very good about this season because of it.
  15. That is just stunning...WHAT IF he doesn't see any cold spells during the entire season!!! Maggs is gonna be an MVP candidate this year (perhaps Gold Glove as well), and he's gonna win the award...I like that he's hitting in front of Frank too, cuz Maggs is more of a hitter...I think switching Frank and Maggs around is going to spell nothing but doom for the opposition during the entire season! BTW, love the sig!
  16. Ya think Manuel would've let him stay in this long? I highly doubt it. That's one of the many positives Guillen has over the Tinkerer. Buehrle was smokin out there, and, according to Hawk, he was facing flu-like symptoms. Perhaps he should face such symptoms more often... I've noticed that Buehrle's getting a lot of what he lacked during the first half of last season--run support. Buehrle is going to win many ballgames this year.
  17. Geez...lol...Student teaching's done numbers on my mind...It'll be all over in 4 weeks THANKFULLY!!!!! But that doesn't take away from the great season Carlos is going to have, so THERE!!!!
  18. 3 of 4 will go to the Sox here...I've heard that Buehrle could possibly be moved to the Saturday game??? I just hope that Garland is ready and that Schoey and Wright are on their games as well. It would be great to see Cotts out there in relief, and hopefully Monday wasn't a bad omen for Marte. Our lineup shouldn't have a problem though if the Tampa hitting was able to handle them pretty well. Sox will win Game 1, 2, and 3 or 4 (depending on which one Buehrle pitches).
  19. I'm in Bolingbrook, which is a SW suburb of Chicago....But not for much longer, as I am most likely going to be relocating to a place of my own within the next four to five months...Perhaps actually IN Chicago if I teach in the Chicago Public Schools. And I became a Sox fan the day after Frank Thomas made his major league debut...And will never look back.
  20. Carlos is on pace to hit 162 homers this season... It seriously looks like he's comfortable hitting in the 5-hole here...He's going to have a great season this year, including on the field. He hasn't had anything bad going out there on the field either... Here's to Carlos!!!
  21. If you could be Dubya for the day and had the opportunity to either alter ONE amendment or add ONE, what would you choose to do? I personally would add a new amendment that would add a luxury tax to those who made over a certain amount of money, since their superflouous funds could very well help this nation get back on its feet financially (we are so in debt). There is absolutely no need for individuals to have so muc h superflouous money! Say, cap it at 1 million dollars (anyone can live within the means of 1 million a year). Anyone making over 1 million would be taxed a certain percentage based on how much they made.
  22. SS2k4, That's a pretty cool signature! How do I get my Soxtalk award for Most Underrated Poster???
  23. Cotts could use more time in the minors to start the season off, so I'd have Wright start, and then maybe Schoey. If his location looks good down in the minors, and some tinkering (don't mean to use that term) is needed to be done to our starting rotation, Cotts could be brought up...He just doesn't seem quite ready for the bigs, though he will with more time down in the minors.
  24. Welcome all, and know that things get very exciting over here during the season...Especially when we beat the Cubs... Sox 6-0 vs. the Cubs this year!!!! (hey, a Sox fan can have hope)
  25. Hockey is by far my favorite sport...Football is my second, and it doesn't even TOUCH my love for hockey. I usually don't really "focus in" on MLB's season until the Stanley Cup Finals are complete, and I usually "break away" from focusing on the NFL a little at the beginning of the NHL season. I'm THAT intensely in to hockey. I love the Blackhawks so much that I've created a NEW name for the sport...I refer to it as HAWKY!
