  1. So, as of this morning, I have officially joined the Alumni Association at Illinois State University with a B.S. in Mathematics. The last four years have certainly been unforgettable. And so, my college days are officially over, and I will be working hard to nail down a teaching job for next year. I know that there are probably at least a few others here who are doing the same thing within the next few weeks, so congrats to all of you too and your hard work! To those who have graduated, where did you go, what was your field of study, and when did you graduate? Those who are in college right now and have an idea on when they are graduating may answer too!
  2. Since when is a midwesterner an east-coaster??? :puke
  3. Look at me...BOTH SIDES!!!!!
  4. Consistency in the lineup is one thing this team lacked during Manuel's tenure here and majorly cost us! That would lead to the Manualization of this team. I like that Ozzie isn't a "tinkerer" and sticks to his guns. Valentin doesn't deserve to be up here until he can prove he's worth sending someone else down.
  5. Tonight's game was on WCIU, which means that anyone outside of the Chicago viewing area cannot watch the game. What an exciting WCIU broadcast it was though.
  6. Just a few before I hit the hay... Graduating from ISU this Saturday morning. The Sox unreal start. Being able to laugh at Pappy's idiotic ramblings on the "Wise Guys."
  7. I've been having this condition in my legs for the longest time now, but it seems to be getting worse. They used to only make cracking sounds a couple times while I'd go down stairs...But now it's getting me worried just a bit... I'm having unbelievable pain all over my knees, as well as in my ankle joints. Now I don't have to be going down stairs to hear cracking...I hear cracking even when I'm walking! I've been taking an unreal amount of calcium (use 3-4 slices of cheese in sandwiches, drinking tons of milk, and eating yogurt), which I thought should help. I shouldn't be old enough to have arthritis at 22! Any reasonable advice that might help would be welcomed, and I thank you in advance!
  8. Why, thank ya, SupaSte!
  9. Hey, both WGN and ABC Chicago news put the Sox as their first story in the sports report. That must mean that the Sox have become Chicago's #1 team. We all know who the REAL team in Chicago is. I think it's kinda good that the media isn't heavily spreading the word, because our beloved can have an easier time sneaking up on teams...like they're doing thus far this year! These teams don't know what hit them until it's too late and another "w" is put on the board for the south siders. They'll give us the lauds come October though!
  10. Couldn't agree more. Each knows where the other is on the field at all times and easily flips the ball to make an outstanding play (see game-ending play tonight as an example). They are feeding off each other and breaking up this up-and-coming duo would be a traveshamocrity! To say this is our best 6-4 combo in years would do them an injustice. Oz's gotta be proud of them.
  11. Did JuJu's bear your presence tonight? Hope your bday was a blast.
  12. I didn't have to take any finals this semester!!! Then again, I student taught all semester long WHICH THEY DON'T PAY YOU A SINGLE PENNY TO DO (what a travashamocrity)...So I shouldn't have to take any! Graduation's this Saturday morning.
  13. Uribe's currently at #3 in the league in batting average at .384 and is making solid contributions in nearly every at-bat (getting those sacrifices when he doesn't get on base, moving runners over, etc...). He's making KW look like a genius here and should remain a starter (meaning NO Valentin). I'm liking what he's showing so far.
  14. I'm gonna have to go with Cotts on this one. Cotts has been displaying outstanding poise out on the mound this year and has the "I WILL get this guy out" mentality instead of the "we'll see If I get this guy out" kind of mentality, which is evident in his pitching. He's clearly comfortable out there. Bring Wunsch up to the pen when he's ready and allow Cotts the chance.
  15. They really should do something about the starting pitcher's suspension, making it greater than just 5 games, since that usually means they'll only miss one start. If the others have to sit out for more, then starting pitchers should have to sit out for more. Starting pitchers aren't more special than the other players. I was listening to The Score this morning while driving to student teaching, and they brought up a good point. Make them serve a 9-game suspension so that they must miss 2 games (a full rotation) instead...I like this idea, because a 5-day 1-start is just a slap on the hand.
  16. The Sox are going to win this one going away, I can just feel it!!! Our comeback powers have become enigmatic for our opposition...Toronto's dead.
  17. Me thinks Crede was reading my post last week...Uhhh huh!!! Crede's been eating his Wheaties.
  18. Yea, and the Cubs are at #3 due to sweeping two patsies in Pittsburgh and New York...These rankings are a load of junk!
  19. Sox will win today...Cleveland's just too bad to sweep us, even in a two-game set.
  20. Pssssstttt...The game is on WCIU tonight!!!
  21. But he called Hawk "sexy." That's gotta account for something!!!
  22. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Hawk's broadcasts. It's obvious that he's loving what he does every day (well, not as much when the Sox are losing)...His passion is everpresent. It's awesome to go back and forth with other Sox fans and quote Hawkisms for like an hour at a time...Hawk has made his mark, albiet a small one, on the broadcasting world.
  23. Naw!!! Not when you can have me editing everything!!!
