  1. That's where we play Konerko twice and Frank once, using the other as a nice pinch-hitter. Konerko has been more of a CubKilla than Frank ever has been, so you gotta go with the right guy here.
  2. It really looks like Konerko wants to win the Crosstown series more than any other player on both sides, just looking at his approach to the plate. He's out there to draw BLOOD! He KNOWS how big this is for Sox fans and is doing everything he can to bring us happiness...doing a darn good job at it as well. Looks like he's gonna start turning it loose as well. THIS is the Konerko we need to have.
  3. Shingo totally made Sammy look silly today (Sosa said he didn't know what blew by him). He's that type of guy who doesn't fear ANYONE on ANY roster. Unfortunately, he hasn't pitched enough and isn't known well enough to make the all star roster. Shingo's wife is in town for this homestand, and she said that Shingo absolutely LOVES it here. She said that Shingo never got standing ovations in Japan, but he's getting tons of those over here. Keep it up, Sox fans! Make him want to stay! Wouldn't it be something if he didn't blow a save all year long?!
  4. Oh, and nothing could've be better than for him to score the GAME WINNING RUN with his hit!!!!! What a perfect night for Ozzieball to come and play once again!!!!
  5. SNR was a classic...The Critic's SamME impersonations and Jose Valentin ones were the greatest, as were the lead-ins! I miss bugging them with all of my emails to them bashing them for bashing on Carlos.
  6. Here I am, my fellow El Caballo backer!!!! WHERE IS MAURY PIN STRIPES NOW???? LAWN ORNAMENT???? I'm so happy for him, and I nearly teared up when he did that. Keep it on going, Carlosssssssssss, you da man!!!!
  7. One could make an argument for every one of those on the list...But, I chose defending the Sox to other fans. I'm all about "representing." And in my "representing," I show my Sox pride.
  8. I'm sure most of you have seen the new SOX PRIDE! commercial that they air on WCIU and WGN. It's in "THEM vs. US" form that's a total stab at Cub fans. It's about time they came up with a commercial like this. A couple of examples from the commercial: THEM: Have a fan who screams "Woo!" US: Don't. THEM: Believe they are cursed. US: Agree. It ends by saying "Oh...and the mayor likes us better! SOX PRIDE!!!" This year's Sox ticket marketing on TV has been nothing short of stellar!!! And this one tops the charts. Keep the commercials coming, guys!!!
  9. I read at CNN.com a few days ago that the CIA has gathered enough evidence that forecasts a huge terrorist attack on our country sometime this summer. Where the attack will take place is to be determined. The CIA has yet to raise the terrorist alert level from it's current yellow level. But, do you put a lot into the CIA's forecast?
  10. Why do they continue to throw Rowand out there when even Gload is a better option??? Anyways, the Sox will rise above Rowand's continual bad play and win this one in blow-out style. Heather Lee's fearless prediction of the day: Konerko will record at least 3 hits.
  11. If ya need any managing advice, I've got some for you, as I was a manager on campus way back in my college years: DELEGATE, DELEGATE, DELEGATE!!! That's right!!! If ya don't wanna do something, put it on someone else to do!!! Oh, and let us know how it's going over there.
  12. Hey Koch This, think you should change that avatar and signature sometime soon??? It should be the players who vote for the starters and the managers choose the reserves, since there are many fans who don't know the first thing about the game. I'm sure 95% of these fans who vote only vote for someone because it's they only name they recognize on the entire list! If Garciaparra starts, it's gonna be a traveshamocrity!
  13. I think Joe Torre would rather bring Mike Caruso back and stick him at the hot corner rather than allowing Crede to embarrass himself and all Sox fans in Houston this July!!!
  14. Ummm, we're done with the HOME games against Texas...But we still must go to Arlington for SIX games!!!
  15. During the first couple of weeks this month, the Sox have plenty of days off in their schedule, so I don't see anything wrong with eliminating the #5 starter in our rotation for the time being, giving guys in the minors more time to work on their pitches before being given the call-up later on in the month. The Sox only have four guys on their big league club who are worthy of starting. Cotts, until his start in Minnesota, has looked great in the bullpen, and he shouldn't be given another opportunity of starting, since he'd most likely just give us a couple of innings and probably would allow 5+ runs in the process. There's noone else in the bullpen who can start. Rauch just shot himself in the foot Saturday leaving the ballpark early and didn't bring much command to the table, especially in that 4th inning! Either we trade for a #5 starter or wait a little, giving someone in the minors a chance of getting more work in before a call-up (perhaps give Diaz another shot or bring up Munoz). But, for the time being, eliminate that #5 spot, going with a 4-man rotation, since it's a guaranteed loss if we don't do this, and it's not imperative that we keep a 5-man rotation at this time of the season.
  16. My name is Heather, and I am a huge Carlos Lee fanatic.
  17. So, sneak in a walkman!!! This team's got too much chemistry going for them right now, so they won't miss a beat with Ozzie gone for the day...Thank god for chemistry!
  18. Just teach her to be a Carlos Lee fan first and foremost!!! Paulie deserved to be the hero tonight...This team NEVER gives up. They have fun coming to the ballpark every day and are a real TEAM, unlike those teams managed by Manuel (thank god he's gone). Ozzie is the man!
  19. I'm a tad uneasy about our 5th starter situation right now...Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we have exactly ZERO wins from that spot this year??? Didn't we have something near THREE wins from that spot all last season (thoughts of Wright even give me the creeps). Hopefully Rauch will be able to go deep into the game and record outs unlike the others who have been pitching in the #5-spot! I can't take much more of this drama at the #5. Hopefully more Ozzie magic will happen with Rauch.
  20. I certainly can't wait to dig into these guys during the 2004 version of the Crosstown Classic...It's gonna be ugly for them. I don't care if Prior and Wood are back...Ozzie's got this team believing in themselves, and they are going to bring out the whipping sticks on the northside minor leaguers!!! The TRUE Cubs are back...
  21. Carlos Lee has improved MAJORLY over his career and is shagging down many more balls than when he started out...Sometimes he can't make the highlight plays, but 95% of the time HE TRIES! He doesn't have the greatest of throwing arms, but to call him lazy out there is despicable!!! On the flipside, he's been producing major offensive numbers, which more than offset his throwing arm. I wouldn't dare get rid of Carlos!!!
  22. So does this mean that the LF shower will get the axe? Nobody can say that Comiskey isn't a world-class ballpark...It's got all one could ask for and more...I wouldn't trade it for anything else.
