I feel like the Sox finally trade Collins to Milwaukee/Oakland/Tampa.

There have been catchers selected in the R5. Sox have selected a worse and less experienced catching prospect in Adrian Nieto. Kept him on the roster the whole season too. Bad teams can and should do these types of things.

Very true but serving is far from the worst gig if you wanted to date.

I made well over $25 an hour waiting tables when I was in college. I would work 6-7 hour shifts typically. Could ditch my shifts or pick up shifts as I wished. Would take off exams. Everything was scalable. I would make more over the year working 20-25 hours a week than basically any minor league that wasn't on the 40 or a bonus kid. These guys are basically on a 7 day commitment all season. Have to stay in shape, etc. It's much easier to be a server than your average minor leaguer .

Come to think of it, Perez probably needs to be protected on the 40 man this offseason. If I were a rebuilding team I would totally nab him in the rule 5 to be a back up if the Sox didn't protect him.

Probably not a coincidence. Someone was saying Lucroy is a dick and butted heads with the Sox. I forget who said it though. I don't disagree with a lot of this but Zavala is atrocious at the plate.

People underrate Alvarez. He doesn't really play the field (has at least 10 starts in the outfield this year) but since he's been in the league, he has the highest wRC+ in baseball other than Trout (minimum 500 PAs).

I think Collins might be a better receiver on balls that have no chance of hitting the ground and Yermin would let up less passed balls than Collins. They're both awful behind the plate. Watching Yermin catch for Rodon in Spring Training looked like Rodon was crossing him up every other pitch. He was stabbing for pitches in the zone.

Not only this but the Sox also brought in Grullon. While I've never seen Grullon catch, I can imagine he's a better receiver than Yermin.

Yeah I agree. Billy has long been a candidate for a phantom DL stint for me. I don't know how the union views that stuff but Sox have done it with pitchers before.
