Ugh Sheets at 1B is a big no from me. Definitely would take my chances with Vaughn over risking a crucial error from Sheets who has proven to be a poor 1B.

My biggest issue with TLR was early in the season when he quite simply didn't know the rules on multiple occasions, and continutally put the Sox in a position to fail. He improved in late May-mid July, and post ASG - the Sox were more focused on health and rest than pushing a lead that was already a pipe dream for anyone to catch up. I give TLR a solid B on the season. The bolded is spot on.

I think it really depends on how the games in Houston go. But I think Cease is the favorite to pitch game 3. Carlos goes in game 3 if Sox are up 2-0 and they can afford a short start, or game 4 if Sox up 2-1. Any other scenario, I think its Lynn, Giolito, Cease, Lynn, Giolito.

Disagree on that. Billy has game changing speed. We've seen it plenty this season. Eloy also shouldn't be in LF at all, but since the Sox seem married to that for now, Billy 100% has a role and it definitely isn't a waste of roster spot.

You really think they give Carlos game 3 over Cease? I think game 3 is Dylan's unless Sox are up 2-0 and can afford to roll the dice on Carlos' shoulder.

Flip Moncada and Robert in the order, put Cesar at 2B and Leury in in RF and that is my guess. I don't think they'll want Engel playing back to back games and there is a lefty on the mound tomorrow. Engel gets RF tomorrow. Whoever has better game between Leury and Cesar today gets the nod at 2B tomorrow.

Nah. They weren't going to leave Goodwin at home. He's a part of this team and deserves to be a part of everything for the playoffs. But they 100% made the right decision leaving him off the roster - hopefully one they would have made even if he didn't spend the last week on the regular season on the IL.

Billy's only role should be pinch running for Eloy in the 8th or 9th, and/or coming in for defense in the 8th if Eloy just hit, or the 9th otherwise. That is legitimately it.

Keuchel isn't making a start in the ALDS regardless of situation. And Cease is going to get game 3 IMO. I think Lynn goes game 4 and Giolito game 5, unless Sox have a 2-0 lead and then I could see them going Carlos in game 3 and Cease game 4. But still don't see Keuchel making his way onto this roster, even if Carlos is ineffective and they replace him on roster thereafter.

Who exactly is Mendick pinch hitting for to lay down a bunt? I am not going to get worked up about Mendick making the roster, but the only way he sees any time is due to an in game injury to 2 infielders.

Who cares man? Its part of doing business. You want to be a good team? You have to sign players in FA. Sometimes they don't work out. Every good team has a bad contract or two, and if Dallas is the only one the Sox have, they're doing ok. He'll be the #5 for a portion of next year and if he sucks, they'll release him and then they're done paying him.
