  1. I have looked at the numbers. 2 of our guys are going to finish top 5 in the AL Cy Young. Another guy is Giolito. Another guy is Cease who just finished 3rd in the league in Ks. The Astros have a rock solid McCullers, an overachieving rookie who had a very nice year in Garcia, and 3 backend types in Urquidy, Valdez and Odorizzi who strike just about zero fear in me. The Sox SP is measurably better than the Astros in both the numbers you are referring to, and stuff. Now are we going to get the A versions of Rodon and Lynn? Probably not. But the Astros SP hasn't been great for the last month either.
  2. Kopech should be able to go 1 inning in game 1, and then 3 innings in game 3 IMO.
  3. You should be safe for THursday. With just 2 games, I don't see them starting before 3pmCT. Friday on the other hand is very likely to be earlier than 3pm.
  4. Yeah, I mean you don't have a whole lot to support that other than just apparently not being a big believer in Cease. Garcia I could see being about a toss up with Cease as he's had a nice season, but Ks way fewer people than Cease. Pretty easy nod for Cease over Urquidy, Valdez and/or Odorizzi based on stuff and stats.
  5. Rodon is a big question mark to me too. I frankly don't expect much from him, but know Kopech will be there to piggyback him. But he will also likely finish top 3 in AL Cy Young, and let's not act like Garcia, Valdez and Urquidy are suddenly aces.
  6. I mean, I think you could make an argument Cease would be the Astros 2nd best SP.
  7. How do you figure? McCullers, Garcia, Urquidy and Valdez are a very clear and somewhat significant step down from the Sox top 4.
  8. I agree with you. I don’t think there’s any realistic chance Sox have night games at all in ALDS until Yanks/Red Sox are both eliminated. At least that is my assumption until the schedules dictates otherwise.
  9. Certainly appears to be the plan. If they haven't been announced yet, nothing changes until the ALWC game is over late Tuesday.
  10. Perhaps. I guess we'll have to wait until Wednesday to find out. What a joke for people planning travel.
  11. This would be awesome, but I don't see any realistic scenario that Yanks/Red Sox vs. Rays isn't the prime time game Thursday (and through the whole series). And based on last year, days with just 2 games were 3-4pmCT and 7pmCT game times. It is brutal. Thur/Sun only have 2 games, so they'll spread them out I would guess. Have to image Yanks/Red Sox getting the primetime as mentioned above. Friday has 4 games - would again assume Sox are one of the 2 day games, and apparently TBS has already reflected Brewers/Braces for the 330pm time slot. So I think 1pm Friday is likely, which is worst case scenario for me personally.
  12. Consensus is 3-4pmCT Thursday, 1-3pmCT timeframe on Friday, and likely back to 3-4pmCT timeframe on Sunday.
  13. Just gotta take 1 of the first 2 in Houston. If they can that, I like our chances. If Sox head back to Chicago in an 0-2 hole, we’re obviously on a world of trouble.
  14. Yeah. It’s crazy. They know what it’s gonna look like, just release it.
  15. No game times yet is brutal. I know what to expect, but just brutal for planning purposes.
  16. Insert I don’t believe you gif.
  17. Would hope tonight!
  18. Give me the game times damn it!!!
  19. Not ideal. But back in this one.
  20. Leury stoned today?
  21. Yeah sort of puzzling lineup IMO. Just hoping no one gets hurt!
  22. I suspect 5 of the 6 big guns will be on the bench. Abreu probably still in there.
  23. The only guy Leury is hitting for is Cesar. He’s glued to the bench unless we’re talking late inning running/defense and Billy is the obvious choice there. We have 2 series to win before NL park games. Leury, quite simply, is better than Cesar right now. Leury is my 2B, but I think Cesar gets a couple NLDS Starts with Leury in RF, which is totally fine.
